So, it seems that most sidequests have a hidden timer. The game never tells you that. So, if you just accumulate them, you will end up failing most of them.

How do you feel about hidden timers and sidequests you can't control?

Here are a few choice quotes:

Not really an issue. It just a bit of weirdness that, now forwarned, you won't run into half as much. But basically many sidequests are given out by very brief dialogue quips as you are exploring places like the citadel. But you need to do them and not delay because many can timeout. But there is not a good clear indicator of the time you have to do it.

For example I missed one about investigating a military death. I found it, went back to my ship had 1-2 cut-scenes but no travel then went back to the planet and the timer had already timed out. Even though there was no warning.

On some there is MUCH more time.

Basically if you get a sidequest, might as well do it asap instead of collecting them. That's my advice. But that's because the citadel can flood you with them and it can insane quick and you can start failing them in a row if you are trying to do one, it fails but you're in another section or area and if you don't rush to do the other it fails in a cascade. I got unlucky. Most people will probably fail a couple or perhaps a bunch. Luck of the draw a bit.

We don't have an active timer that shuts off missions if you've been playing X amount of hours before completing them. There are, however, a few missions that will expire if you don't complete them before advancing the main plot/if you complete less urgent missions instead.

So you are tell us, basiclly, to do every side mission as soon as we get it so it doesn't get locked out?

If you want to play it that way to be safe, you can. There's not a lot of missions that get locked off, and we only did it when there was a good story reason for them to expire if you let time pass by doing other missions.
