Did they add gift giving in Mass Effect 3? When I go see Ashley at the hospital there's a kiosk with several volumes of poetry for sale. Are these simply codex entries or have they added Dragon Age/Old Republic style gift giving to Mass Effect as well?

Edit: Well I half answered my own question by buying them. No they're not codex entries. Definitely appear to be gifts. Unfortunately she's still knocked out so if they are gifts, I haven't had the opportunity to give them to her and I honestly don't see how I would with the given UI. Normandy cabin decorations perhaps?

When she regains consciousness and you go and see her, you give her the one poetry book in the conversation (no UI for giving it). I assume it was the Walt Whitman one since she recites "Oh Captain My Captain" to you in ME1 by Whitman.

I was curious about this too. I bought flowers and the Tennyson book because I actually remembered in ME 1 when she said Ulysses is her favorite poem. There was also a reference to The Solitary Reaper by Wordsworth in ME 1 with a mission named Old, Unhappy, Far-Off Things. (Which we all now see the irony of. )
