Well, I got a hold of WalMart.com customer service at work today. Getting around the robo menus and actually getting in touch with a live person is a pain in the ass when calling WalMart. The customer service lady told me the item was "Put on hold" from "The vendor" and would not be delivered as was "guaranteed". She said "It's not our fault." I asked her how it wasn't her fault and she just kept saying "It was put on hold by the vendor." I asked her how every other retail outlet has managed to offer a delivery day guarantee and actually deliver it on the day promised and she said nothing. I also asked how it was a "Guarantee," she said their guarantee is "It's guaranteed to show up on the date specified, or you are entitled to a 10 dollar WalMart gift certificate." I asked her when it would show up at my house - she said "Possibly by the end of the week, but probably not until next week." She then said she had no idea when it would actually ship, the only definite thing she could tell me was that it will not ship today and that the item is currently "On hold from the vendor." I told her to cancel my order immediately, she said it wasn't possible because it was in the warehouse and was in "processing." I told her to transfer me to a supervisor and after about 10 seconds of yelling my order was miraculously able to be cancelled.
During my lunch I drove to Gamestop and bought the regular 360 edition WITH the codes for the preorder stuff. The only difference between that edition and the CE is the superfluous physical stuff that comes with the CE (that I never really cared about to begin with, I only wanted the bonus in-game content.)
To those that pre-ordered from WalMart you won't get it today. You won't even get it tomorrow.... you probably won't even get it this week. You're better off cancelling and driving to GS and picking up a regular copy (and paying a little extra for the codes with it, ask about it at the counter.)
I'll never order from WalMart again.
