You either do a mission or just try to outrun them while scanning.

If you find something, it'll stay marked when you re-enter right away (not sure if you do a mission), so with some fancy flying, you can snatch it and escape. :)

Although with the mouse on the PC, it's harder. :P

Use the mass relay and they'll reset completely I believe, as in them homing in on you resets to 0.

The only way to reset the reapers to zero rating is by completing a mission.

Ah thanks! I kept zipping from cluster to cluster and they were still stalking me. Will check back after a mission.

By the way, someone must mod a "wakka wakka wakka wakka" sound effect when the reapers chase you.

Because that's what I keep thinking about when they're coming. :P

This system needs to go. It's stupid, just like mineral scanning in ME2. It's a shame I gotta use Cheat Engine to get rid of obvious design oversight.

hmm someone from the Quality Assurance Division! :) interesting!.. was it your department that gave a thumbs up to the endings?... sorry.. ending :)

.. did your department not at least point out the ending had huge plot-holes that needed to be filled? such as dead squad mates jumping out of the crashed Normandy?  or Anderson getting to the control panel first? :)  or Shepard breathing under brick work rubble when he was apparently on the citadel? :)

Come on, don't hijack the OP's thread just to add spam about the ending. There are literally hundreds of threads for you already if you want to discuss it.

Jumping on the staff for this crap whenever they post unrelated things in the forums is a great way to chase them away completely.

you can activate planets and scanning results with a double-click as well, so you don't need to move the mouse to the button that appears on the lower right. that makes it a lot easier to check everything out while trying to avoid them.

Do you have Xbox Kinect or anything equivalent? Just say the secret words,

Reaper, no reaping!
Reaper, no reaping!
Reaper, no reaping!

....awww man.

well in relation to repears chasing you; you can spam re-entry into the area until you pop-in nearer a resource and thus you can grab them before the reapers reach you...

The sneaky way is to get as many systems scanned as possible (even with reapers chasing you) do not worry about collecting just locate everything - then go do a mission and come back to harvest everything.

I always just scan then run.

Leave the are and come back in from the desired side to quickly reach the areas you want (which way you face when entering dictates the side you enter.

You can renter the system and keep scanning but any time the Reapers get too close, you'd better leave. And each time you renter you end up on a different side of the system, which makes scanning while evading not difficult at all.

Oh man, that is a brilliant idea. Can't believe I never thought of that. I'll definitely give this a try next time around. Thanks for the tip!

I often find it's actually more fun with them chasing you, provided you use the "entry exploit".
Combine that with Benny Hill blaring in the background, and it's perfect.

You can also just purposefully die and re-scan the clusters you are in. It makes the process easier. The assets are always in the same place no matter how many times you re-scan them.

When you get eaten by the Reapers, you just go back to right before you entered the cluster. It's a good work around if you are just trying to grind out assets.

This includes metagaming but is what I do.

Do not worry about the reapers catching you. Spend time in a particular system pinging everywhere until you know where each item is located, then get caught. When you are reset (it saves when you get into the system), just ping the areas where you know the items arenlocated. Boom, easy win and you can even get out of having the reapers chasing you at all. When I realized that there is no disadvantage to getting caught, it became a fun little game.

If on PC, just run in, scan the whole system see where the markers are and then let yourself get eaten by the Reapers. It'll load an auto-save from when you warped in anyway, and now you know exactly where to go. Easy as pie. Kind of a pointless addition really, as there's no penalty if you get caught.
