"New" To the ME Series

Okay, so I bought ME2 on Playstation Store. Here's the following I did
1) Downloaded the Cerberus Pack
2) Downloaded the Full Game itself
3) Installed the Full Game
4) Downloaded Patch 1.03
5) I have a question I just booted the game and all that shows on the Main Menu is "New Game" and "Extras" on the bottem right of the screen,but not to far, it says Connected to EA servers, I'm wondering if the Cerberus Pack works or not? I can go on about this so forgive me if I can't describe all the details.
So is it okay to download the Cerberus Pack before downloading the Full Game itself?
What can I do to make sure the Cerberus Pack works or not?
Supposedly (sorry if it's spelled wrong) the PS3 version of ME2 was suppose to have the Dark Horse comic where you can make choices from ME1 and use it to import into ME2, but it doesn't appear in the game.
PLEASE DO NOTE: I BOUGHT THE PS3 VER. ON THE PLAYSTATION STORE.
I can't think of any questions right now that relate to online/dlc/gameplay experice troubleshooting.
If anyone can help I'd appreciate it, a friend of mine introduced me to the ME series along with other BioWare games.

P.S. Looking forward to ME3. Pre-ordered it, can't wait! :happy:

It works, don't worry. As long as you installed it properly, it will work regardless of being connected. Besides, you have to connect manually. I've never played on the PS3, but I think the comic costs a few bucks. You have little less than 5 hours. Go!
