Hi, I'm seeing that in a lot of scenes the characters faces are very dark.
I recall seeing that this has something to do with cinematic lights? I have mine set to 3...
Also, any info on what Spherical Harmonic Lighting does?
Thank you!

I don't have the game unlocked yet so I haven't been able to experiment.
But if you don't mind, where did you find spherical harmonic lighting? Is it in the in-game menu, config ultility, or are you digging in the .ini file?

You can activate it by running the Mass Effect 3 Configuration Utility. If you don't have a shortcut for it, it's at the Mass Effect 3 folder.
Enabling spherical harmonic lighting seems to attenuate the "issue". I say "issue" because the dark faces are probably a feature of the game lightning and not a bug. A little annoying though.

This is definitely a problem for me as well, and is really frustrating. I turned off spherical harmonic lighting and it seems to slightly do better for me, but still not good at all. It is really bad.

Yeah i've noticed this too i bet it is a bug with the game or like seketh said, it might just be a feature of the game lighting

I'm having this issue too. And if it's really a feature of the game then it's a bit frustrating one.. Meddling with spherical lighting didn't help me.. Any other suggestions?

Same here, and if I set it back to default, most of the faces are all in black >.<

Came to post a question about the same thing. I found having Spherical Harmonic Lighting and 3 cinematic lights on helped a bit but there were still times that characters had super dark faces (e.g. when you first meet Ashley). It tends to happen in indoor areas which leads me to think it's either a bug to do with lighting, or the lighting is intentionally done that way. Outdoors their faces are plenty bright. Would be good to hear some official response on this, never seemed to be an issue in ME1 or ME2 for me.
