I don't understand the whine. The codex way back in ME1 clearly stated that quarians look very human.

Where do you see that?  I just looked through the codex online and saw no referrence to looking "human".  Not doubting you I just can't find it.  I also find it quite odd as their evolution is so massively different than ours.  They should look more Turians than humans.

Asari look human. Nearly every alien in Star Trek looks human. It's a convention.

Honestly, the frame looks exactly like I imagined, I just expected a somewhat rougher looking skin texture from that one conversation you had with Grunt about how to kill the various races. All in all, I'm not surprised though and it's a fairly good picture even if it is not exactly how I imagined it.

Plot twist: quarians are actually humans! Seriously though there is absolutely nothing to make that look alien in any way, its less alien even than a vulcan- at least they have pointy ears.

So if this screenshot is even legit, this is a terrible design choice by BioWare.

The Asari have just enough alien features for us to go, "ok, I'll buy the space babes as aliens." They've at least got an alien skin tone and tentacles for hair. Quarian faces in contrast are now nearly indistinguishable from humans.

And Star Trek has an excuse for most of the aliens looking nearly indistinguishable from humans: in the lore many of the species of the galaxy had a common origin. Their ancestors were spread throughout the galaxy by another species. Mass Effect doesn't have the same excuse.

The safe, easy, and cheap route. EA has taught you well, Bioware.

Finally! I'm happy with it, works fine for me. But mainly I'm just happy to finally see what she looks like!

You imagined Tali looking like a standard human girl?

Not even nearly indistinguishable, they are indistinguishable. Also that is not a quarian hand, it's clearly a human hand in shadow. LOL.

You're happy with Tali looking like a human female with odd hands and legs?

In both games you can see through the mask somewhat and it is very humanoid in appearance. Was I expecting something like scaly skin or a different skin color, yeah, but very similair to humans.

The face is not very similair to humans, it is a human face.

Her entire eye appears to be glowing white. Much like a night elf. Not really what I would call "human" and definitely nothing to get fussy about. It's like getting mad about a certain new squad members accent. Oh and yeah you're right... Bioware designers have no creativity. Do you people ever really think about what you're posting? Entire families were killed by tornadoes last week in the states and you're disappointed because a character in a SCI-FI FANTASY game looks "too human". And cue flame shield.

What are you all ****ing about?

From the ME1 Codex:
"Quarians are generally shorter and of slighter build than humans. Quarians have an endoskeleton, lips, teeth, and two eyes with eyelids and tear ducts; they also have three thick fingers on both hands which include a thumb and an index finger, as well as three toes on each foot. Their lower legs are bowed backwards significantly, compared to asari or humans. Aside from hands and legs, their general body shape and sexual dimorphism is similar to humans. Their ears or ear analogues differ in a noticeable fashion from those of humans, with references made to "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear"."

Derr, they're similar to humans, and have been since ME1. There are some pretty noticable differences though, like their eyes, ears, and three fingered hands. Plus, if you had a full body shot, the legs are definitely different.

I can normally see a reason to complain, but you can't considering how they were described in ME1.

Which should have been expected if you paid attention to Tali and the other Quarians in the first two games. While I agree that if the Quarians had been revealed in 1 or 2, they would have looked more like I imagined, they have always looked similar to humans through the masks and so this is not to be unexpected.

Funny how everyone tries to cling to lore to justify their vision of Tali. The very same lore that portrays a three-fingered race as the mechanical and engineering geniuses of the Galaxy.

She is what her creators want her to be, whether that makes sense or not.

Entire families die in Africa each day, but i guess they are not as important as people living in the states.

Doesn't bother me.  I'd be cool if it was more exotic or diffrent, but this is fine for me as well.  I was never invested in the idea of Tali looking diffrent, I just wanted to know.  And I liked her personality.  "I have a shotgun."

I covered that in the previous page.

The description of the Quarians was vague and there was nothing in there that indicated that they looked almost exactly like humans. All of those features that were described...two eyes, lips, teeth, and endoskeleton...are features also shared by the Drell and Asari, two species that are more alien in appearance than the retconned appearance of the Quarians.

And make no mistake, Quarian appearance was retconned. The girl in the image has elf ears while the Quarians were described in terms that indicated their ears were either smaller than a humans, or internal. The phrase used was "what passes for the Quarian version of an ear." The Quarians were also described as having a thicker skin or hide than humans by Grunt. Now they have human skin.

I don't really see how "what passes for the quarian version of an ear" suggests its shape or form.

I always thought that Grunt said so because of their suits too.
