I'm more concerned about why in the heck i'm seeing that half the ME3 areas have already been 50% covered according to my Games Information on a game that isn't even unlocked for me yet..

well according to my EA Origins notification about the release time for me.. i should have it unlocked in about 6 minutes (says march 5th 2012 23:00 which it's currently 22:54)

You're an hour off on your time conversion. It unlocks 1 hour from now.

Right, so 21 minutes into the 6th of March and the release date check thing still doesnt work. WTF?

Yea, just beeps and goes back to the desktop. No processes running in the background, so either the check is failing for some reason (maybe due to some weird localization issue with the release check), or EA is incapable of keeping the server responsible for verifying the time/date authentication online. Both are entirely plausible but still incredibly annoying.

Wrong. It is only 24:00 for Eastern Standard Time. I have already unlocked mine at 21:00 Pacific time. When I first tried to unlock it at 20:30 it said I would have to wait till 21:00. It is now 21:30 and I have it activated.

So are other people still stuck at the release date check? I'm in EST but it's closing in on 1am over here and I still can't get the release date check to authenticate

Yeah this is BS. Every time I try to start the game...it brings up the release date check...it gets to 30%....then a beep and it disappears. Then reappears almost done, beeps again, and vanishes. Then nothing. You guys need to get your act together.

Same issue. Fails the release check with three quick dings even though the time is up in my time zone. Only way to get it to recheck is to download the 40 mb update again.

Heh, glad I'm not alone here. Good ol' EA shenanigans. It'd be one thing if everyone had to wait for it to be midnight in one particular time zone wherever the company is hosted, like Pacific Time or something, but as there's people already playing I understand that's not the case.

I've tried reinstalling Origin, deleting the Masseffect3.exe, deleting all settings or config files I can. No change.

it's really weird, on pst at 9pm, the release date check passed, but then I updated me3, that 40mb thing, and it release date check me *AGAIN*?!

I thought that thing is removed after it successfully checked the game the FIRST time...
I want no DRM stuff on my computer!

I've reinstalled Origin, reinstalled ME3, checked my system time thinking that might be the issue but everything is kosher. If I check for updates it downloads 40 mb and then tries the release check. Hit accept and it dings three times too quickly to catch what it's saying, it then tries to launch the game and fails. If I try launching it again it tries for a few second, Origin says I'm playing Mass Effect 3 and then it gives up. Continues to do the same thing until I check for an update again in which case it's rinse and repeat.

 Same exact problem for me, reinstalled, restarted computer.  Still nothing, 3 beeps on launch then nothing.

Funny that I got an email from ea saying the game is playable for me now, though I can't launch it.  WTB STEAM.

I spend 70$ dollars on the game and dlc, and nothing works. Bravo.
