Not really considering that you could actually have meaningful interactions with this character and follow her reporting in relation to the first and second game.

The kid is just some random human I have no connection to.

That and a chunk of us spent twelve or so hours following her on twitter and really growing to root for her to survive.

That Twitter feed was just great and did the character great justice. That really felt like a journalist reporting from a war. Don't think they would have had place for that in the game.

I usually don't use twitter but that feed was better than some real movies or games.

Emily went down like a boss. I will Vanguard charge a Reaper for her.

The title of the thread made me so angry but thank you for the clarification - I'm going to leave this place until Ive completed the game, its getting out of hand even if this thread isn't a spoilerific post.

Indeed it kinda sucks that they gave Emily Wong's role in the game away to somebody else probably because the guys at Bioware have a crush on her and she wants to be in a video game. The voice actress who played Emily Wong could have used that role to help her career adding some IGN presenter does nothing for the fans or that persons career.
