I thought the pc version was supposed to have a high res texture pack? Was this a rumor or is it not out yet?

This appears to be the case, lol. I just sent a few Tweets to @masseffect and they are answering random fan questions / comments but ignored mine about a high-rez pack for PC.

Shame.

It was not a lie, you should read the context better!
"The game will ship with hires built in to the game"; their version of hires does not match gamers version, there was never a promise of hires PACK.

Damn I was praying for a texture pack. I wish bioware went all out for this game and released a texture pack. They have the textures its not like they have to make them out of nothing

Absolutely pathetic is what it is. This should be a given in this day and age and there's practically no visual difference between the two versions aside from resolution.

What is happening to all these developers nowadays, go back ten years and this appalling lack of care towards groups of the community would never be anywhere in sight.

Note that in that comparison video there is no real change to textures, the minimum detail version just has all the graphics settings turned off.

Give me proof that there are any textures in the game, that aren't parts of the background, planets, backdrops, or huge objects like ships that are larger than 2048x2048.

Umm go back 10 years and there was basically zero communication between fans and developers. I bet Bioware wishes they could go back to those days so they wouldn't have to manage forums full of a bunch of crybabies who insult and criticize every single thing they do.

Thank you, people should read context better rather than make it into something it is not.

Communication maybe, maybe not, but back then DLC was free. Back then HD textures were a given for just about any game. Back then games were a gift towards a community, nothing like it is now.

I'm one of the biggest graphics ****s on this website, and I say that while the game may not have textures as detailed and as high rez as Witcher 2 or Crysis 2, it's a MASSIVE improvement over Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.

The game for all intensive purposes is very pretty, and I've found the textures to be detailed enough so that they do not distract as much as they did in the previous games.

I'm pretty sure ME3 uses the same dynamic texture scaling like ME2, but with much more variance.  The game will look much better on PC due to larger amounts of VRAM, than it does on consoles.

To clear things up. That's an old article, from back when the demo was released. BioWare said, that you'll be able to download high res packs:

"Zum Release des Action-Rollenspiels werden PC-Spieler die Möglichkeit haben, neue High-Res-Texturen zu aktivieren."

That means
PC gamers will be able to activate High-Res-Textures.

Now that the game is released, and we still don't have high res textures, we know BioWare lied.
I was actually supporting your statement:P

Really all they'd need is a hires pack for the armors/clothing the rest of the game looks great, but insignia on Anderson's uniform makes me want to claw my eyes.

Can we get a bioware rep to confirm this?

I'm also interested in knowing about this - A HiRes pack made DA2 look ok instead of having to cry blood every times you played the game. At least cater a little to the PC crowd too. ;)

Yeah. It would be nice if there were some decently high res textures in the game. Being a slight improvement an older games isn't good enough.

Well, the artbook is 1.1gb, and I don't believe they have a HiRes pack, or they would have said it by now... :P

Well I'm hoping its in the works. Armor/Clothing is improtant too. And the fact that we cant mod it now is annoying if Bioware doesnt give it to us.

You are kidding yourself if you think this is not highres already! Just look at the detail on Andersons clothes ESPECIALLY in the collar. /sarcasm

The only thing worse than the ****ty textures is the terrible FOV. FYI Open the images in a new tab otherwise they don't look as atrocious in a smaller rez.

I have enough of Biowares blatant statements and lies. Its always the same - we cant say the truth, or at least lets say the truth in such an ambiguous way to talk our way out of this later...'
DAMMIT!
