Let's have a contest to see who can come up with the best name for Dog.

My vote is for "Ruffie", after the Nine-Hells demon boy's "dog" from Baldur's Gate 1.

I named my dog "Blargha". It's not a very pretty name, but the story behind it is quite cute (the link, that is).

[edit]: Also, it's not just a random name, or a funny name taken from elsewhere. It's a name with meaning for my character and those children in the alienage. So I feel it is a pretty creative name, creative choice anyhow.

That's the perfect name for the dog in Fable 2.

In Dragon Age, I named my dog Zilo.  Short for 'zilodarpe,' a reference to the God of Conquest in an obscure chaos magic invocation.  Dog in DA just makes the dogs from other games look like the abandoned pups of some mange-ridden half starved mutt.

My first dog was a little more practical - Hercules.

When I realized, (on my second playthrough) that I could not fit "Doug the Dog" (funny you thought of that too, raygunpk), I decided Fluffy would do. Who wouldn't underestimate Fluffy?

Cat (not original, I know). Best way to confuse someone, is to call for Cat and have a dog with a bone in its mouth rush towards you. Watch people stare in amazement, . You can just tell people your cat had a terrible genetic experiment go awry, or since Darkspawn infections haven't been exposed in cats, it could be a likely excuse.

My dogs name is Deathstench. Named after my old necromancer from my Diablo 2 days. I thought it was fitting considering he's munching on darkspawn all day. Just say the name a couple times, it grows on you.
