And if I am wrong and I totally love the game, I will come back here and say so and apologise. As I should.
Glad to hear that attitude.
Because I went into it with lowered expectations because of the various criticisms, and I can honestly say that now that I've gone through my first playrhough, the majority of those criticisms were unfounded, or wildly exaggerated. The game is fantastic, and the gripes I have with it are rather minor.
Having played it, I'm now really having trouble understanding the user metacritic ratings as being anything but a result of a "group-think" effect, and/or most reviews being posted by trolls with multiple accounts.
9/10, I'd say. I'd rate this among Bioware's best efforts, alongside DA:O. Not as good as BG2 though... somehow I think there'll never be a game as good as that in my eyes.

And I am not a blind bioware fan-boy - I call them out when I honestly think they've blundered. Like in ME3 with the multiplayer tie-in affecting the single player campaign, and the official line about the game having more than enough war assets to get the best ending without multiplayer being UNTRUE. I think that is shameful. I like the product, but I don't like some of the dishonesty from Bioware and EA recently.
