... Don't be idiots. Apart from some minor things and the ending, the game is a solid, fantastic experience. It involves a ton of choices made in ME1&2 and has some really diverse levels and things, plus some amazingly epic bits that nearly made me weep like a baby. I'd give it a 9/10 minimum in a heartbeat.

the only issue i have gripes with is just bugs

other than that i love the game wich i still give a 9.5

id give it a 10 but like i said i had alot of bad bugs wich is understandable since new games have them all the time

Bioware could sell you a brick-ina-box and you'd buy it.

Disclaimer:  I haven't yet played the game

Haven't played it? then you really have no place to talk? Bioware has way over a decade of top AAA game of the year, RPG of the year titles. If you think Bioware can sell a brick your ignorant. Bioware has whiny fans who cry on AAA award winning games. They whined on Neverwinter Nights being to actiony and weak campaign, they whined DA wasn't enough BG, they whined Mass Effect 2 was dumb down, they whined DA2 was for console derps, Now they are whining about Mass Effect 3...

grateful fans huh? One of the best award winning video game devs get so much crap from their fans expecting more. sad isn't it? now think of the crying, the petitions, the charity, the threats, the bullying, the demanding, the entitlement, the larping of hold the line.. sad sad

I guess trolls have nothing better to do with their time.

It's disturbing and probably will be quite damaging.

To sadly true.

1. Those are MC user reviews. They are known as troll reviews, and were bombed by 4chan. Noone uses them to decide game purchases. Most of the internet knows what they are.

2. Most people use professional reviews, and review sites. Most of those gives ME3 a 94% on average.

3. The sales reflect my #2 point. They surpassed ME2s record.

And if I am wrong and I totally love the game, I will come back here and say so and apologise. As I should.

Glad to hear that attitude.

Because I went into it with lowered expectations because of the various criticisms, and I can honestly say that now that I've gone through my first playrhough, the majority of those criticisms were unfounded, or wildly exaggerated. The game is fantastic, and the gripes I have with it are rather minor.

Having played it, I'm now really having trouble understanding the user metacritic ratings as being anything but a result of a "group-think" effect, and/or most reviews being posted by trolls with multiple accounts.

9/10, I'd say.  I'd rate this among Bioware's best efforts, alongside DA:O. Not as good as BG2 though... somehow I think there'll never be a game as good as that in my eyes. ^_^

And I am not a blind bioware fan-boy - I call them out when I honestly think they've blundered. Like in ME3 with the multiplayer tie-in affecting the single player campaign, and the official line about the game having more than enough war assets to get the best ending without multiplayer being UNTRUE. I think that is shameful. I like the product, but I don't like some of the dishonesty from Bioware and EA recently.

You can't trust Metacritic user reviews, they have no objectiveness and a little blip like face codes or 1% of the game (you know what I'm talking about) completely ruins the game. Anything less than 9.0 or 90% on this game and well, I'll have whatever your drinking.

Reapers gonna reap and trolls gonna troll, Jarrett.

Oh yeah, if somebody gives low scores to the game he definitely troll from the 4chan.
What about employers of some game company that give highest score and write positive reviews about their own game, huh?
Dragon Age:Origins has excellent user score. So far only DA2 and ME3 have low user score on Metacritic. It clearly shows attitude of fans to the direction that Bioware made since DA:O.

honestly, I give the game 7/10 because the bugs that exist only on the PC version due to it being an awful console port and because the cyber-acting isn't as good as ME2 and because the sound design is awful and because the big battle sequences have NO epic music playing to accompany them...just lots of 'pew, pew, pew' sounds.

But it gets high marks for cinematic involvement improvements and missions not being repetitive as the last two games (ME1 had like 2 dozen missions in the exact same looking interiors, and ME2 was formulaic dosier-->recruit-->loyalty-->suicide mission, rinse repeat).

Okay....

Critic scores mean nothing at all.
Gaming press rely on developers/publishers for most of their prelaunch data, as well as their money through ads.

So in a way gaming press is 100% reliant on the cooperation and money from the gaming industry.
It would be strange to expect a honest review because people cannot write them, if they do they get fired.

Personally I buy games because of reputation, I have a few developers that I like, and I just buy their games.
DA2 made me think twice to blindly buy bioware though..
