I'm guessing of metacritic score anywhere between 91-94

1.6 wow... bet those people haven't even played the game.
Butt hurt fans who are still pissed about either Dragon Age 2 dibocale, The DLC scandal, or ME3 ending. Pick your poison. Most of the impressions I've been reading have been nothing but positive.

metacritic.com/game/pc/mass-effect-3 user score
It's disturbing and probably will be quite damaging.
Same thing happened to MW3, just dont do what they did and take it to twitter asking for people to buff the userscore

And I see this and I go... honestly?
I mean, Dragon Age II wasn't the best game ever, but it didn't deserve the four-point-something it has on metacritic, and that ME3 is getting less than that is frickin' absurd.
I'll never understand the internet.

No, it won't be damaging. If the game is as good as professional reviewers say it is, then the metacritic score will eventually reflect that. That's how statistics works.

Companies like EA use user scores to reflect how much money they throw on the next project, IIRC.

Giving a zero is just childish, giving a 10 is just letting the developers know they don't have to try harder next time, if you want more from your gaming experience, then use proper critique and not this childish back and forth.
I think people do it to balance out what they see as paid off reviews. The people who rally behind over inflated scores are no better.

Honestly, I keep hearing about how the critic reviews on metascore are totally inflated and the user scores are the real measure of how good a game is.

Well, if we use the ten-point to its fullest extent, as opposed to the nominal 1-10 that's really a 6-10 that has conditioned us to think that a below-average or bad game gets a 6 or 7...4-point-whatever for DA2 makes a lot more sense.
I'd have given it a (actual) 6 myself.

It kinda did. Certainly more than it deserved the 90's it got in some reviews.

Which is ok if you think that it can't get better. I mean by that logic nobody could get an A+ or 1 in school (depends what rating system you have) because that would discourage pupils from giving their best in the future. However, I didn't play ME3 yet but obviously there is stuff to criticize, so a 10/10 is probably 'overrated'.DJBare wrote...

I also don't understand why people who rate a game don't even try to hide their bias. I know in sports, like skating or dancing who live from people judging a performance they ignore the highest and lowest rating to avoid personal bias of the judges. I really think if anyone is doing 'reviewer ratings' then they should do the same. This harms metacritc as well as the game.
Anyway, even the worst game in the world should get a 3/10 or 4/10 at least. I know professional reviews don't go lower than that. So you can without problem delete all ratings that are lower than for example a 3/10 and have a 'proper' result that actually displays reviewer opinion minus trolling.

DA2 cheaped out on its game design and got everything it deserved IMO. The DLC might have been better but the game itself was an insult compared to DA:O. I hope the Mass Effect team didn't reuse the same damn areas for every dungeon or they deserve low scores too. But that's just my opinion.
