I downloaded Mass effect 3 from origin and installed, waited till 21:00 like it said too. It got verified but then wouldnt launch it would say mass effect 3 launching but then nothing would happen, no pop up saying error or anything. finally a message did show up that said reinstall and try again so I did that. It still didnt work. Then I uninstalled origin and then install the latest version of origin and once again it would say mass effect 3 launching then nothing would happen. What should I do? I was able to download and play the demo just fine.

It might help for you to detail what version of the software you are trying to run, the x64 or x86 version, maybe?

Hmm. So, you are running a 32 bit system. Ok. Well that does differentiate it from what I see on my end with the troubles of the 64 bit system. Other than that, I was able to do what you did, (ie, play the demo after DL from Origin. I DLed it from Origin as well and followed many of the same steps as you did.

Okay I tried to reinstall origin again. And this time I got another message saying to reinstall mass effect 3. Wtf? I already did that and it didnt work, what else should I do I have run out of options. Now when launch mass effect its says its launching and origin says I am playing it but nothing STILL doesnt happen or origin just minimizes itself and nothing happens.

Okay I did a repair install and a game update and yet it now says to reinstall it. Is EA just trying to screw up this game?

I can't get mine to launch either. I've tried updating the game, updating Origin, running in compatibility mode....nothing works.

Already reinstalled Origin and updated, as stated above. Did nothing. The game tries to launch, shows up in the task manager, but does. Absolutely. Nothing.

Try launching Origin as Admin(even if your account has admin rights), fixes my issues

I have tried that and everything everyone else has mentioned and all it did was say launching mass effect 3 then it did nothing except that on my origin page in the top right corner where it says online it said playing mass effect 3 and it would say that for 15 seconds to about a minute then it would just switch back to online.

Damn run on sentence.

This exactly. The game simply will not launch.

Well now it gave me a message to reinstall the game again. So I might as well do that and just accept that fact I will not be playing ME3 until someone at Bioware tells us how to fix this. Now its time to play the waiting game to see if Chris or someone will just tell us the solution.

I was having the same issue I reinstalled Origin and now Mass Effect 3 just has a "preparing" bar that won'tgo away. This is clearly an Origin issue, how lovely that they are requiring us to use a BETA product to run ME3. I wouldn't mind if it worked.

This was a major pain in the arse, but I got the game to work:

1. Updated Origin.
2. Rebooted computer.
3.Ran Origin as Admin
4.Updated ME3

This seemed to work for me- not sure why a reboot helped, because I had done all those steps sans reboot and it didn't work.

Also- I am pretty sure running Origin and ME3 off an external has a lot to do with it- had to download the last Origin update as a ZIP file and extract the files to my Origin directory. So if you are running off an external, I'm pretty sure this is the underlying problem.

reinstall fixed it for me, also forced another update on ME3.

I've also done everything possible that has been suggested so far, and my game will not run either. This is highly disappointing. I do hope that we get BioWare assistance soon.

fyi.... i saw a securom trigger an anti-virus/security resulting in the game crashing or not even showing any error...

So check your own software you currently have running.... kinda drives me insane that securom is even somewhat lingering around ME3.

I hope to receive some kind of response from BioWare or EA on this issue. I tried the livechat thing, but I have not obtained a useful response. I would love it if I could play this game, that my system is more than capable of running.

I had the same problem after it installed. It wouldn't launch. So I restarted my comp and when the origin login window popped up I checked "Remember Me" and it launched fine after that.

Same issue here. Mine was not launching at all. Uninstalled Origin, reinstalled Origin. This forced a 40mb updat to the Digital Deluxe edition. Now the game at least launches to a full screen and crashes with an APPHANG to MASSEFFECT3.

After placing all EA servers and Origin processes allowable to pass through the firewall, I am able to get to the menu. Yay!

Firewall is disabled, running Origin as Administrator, no anti-virus anything running, refuses to load. I've uninstalled and re-installed everything, forced updates, repair installed, and all I get is Origin saying I'm playing Mass Effect 3 for a whole 0.5 seconds before reverting back to saying Online, with no game loaded.

I don't know what to do anymore.

I've been trying to get my game to work for six solid hours now, and that's after the 2 hours I put in last night after I patiently waited at the midnight release to finally get my hands on this game. I'd like to think someone is working on the problem.

I'm pretty sure I saw you in another thread about the same issue. Just in case you didn't notice:

Thanks Sterlo - I am going to add this info to our investigation.

I'm skeptical that they're actually going to have anything useful to say
about the problem but I'd advise you to just try and wait for a while
and see if they have anything to say about it.
