I got the same issue as most of people.
I got it on DVD but my player doesn't work now so redeemed my cd-key and downloaded ME3 via Origin. I installed all the updates then pressed play. Nothing happened. The game shows on my task bar, seems as if it's thinking but then nothing happens, no error or anything like that. When I click on on on the taks bar a tiny window appears but then I get the message that the program doesn't respond. I've reinstalled the game twice and did the same with Origin. I've tried all the hints reccomended in here. Running Origin and the game as the admin, disabled my antivirus, closed all other programs, copied awc.dll file from the link. It still doesn't work.
I had the same issue with the demo. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I've been reinstalling it a few times and after many tries it worked, just to stop working the next day.
But I'm too tired to download the game for the forth time - it takes 5-7 hours to dowload.

Please, somebody help me. I really wanted to play it. I never had issues with ME2 and Dragon Age 2. It's so frustrating.

I have Windows Vista 32bit and nVidia GeForce 9800GT
Intel®Core™2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz, 4GB RAM

Even with EACore.dll still nothing. Not even an error report for me to look at. Just shows up in the process' and then disappears.

edit:

Another re-install, then I'll test the dll's again.

@Trelela: Did you replace also the EACore.dll?

What error message do you see in the event manager of Windows?

After 3 or so days of not playing ME 3 I have decided to just get a refund and buy a disc instead.

I'm not sure how it's in english, because I have polish windows.
But I guess it's something like: "The program has stopped responding" - the usual message when some programs crash in Windows

And yes. I replaced EAcore.dll from the link.

I mean the event manager of Windows (http://i1013.photobu...ent_Manager.jpg);
there you are able to see in 'Errors' the crashes of your apllications. And you can see wahts the cause.

Unfortunately there is nothing written about a specific DLL (either AWC nor EACore.dll)

I uninstalled ME3, then Origin, then i deleted the ME3 in my Documents folder manually. Also all EA Folders I could find and rebooted. After that i reinstalled Origin from my DVD, it updated itself and started the ME3 setup. After it finished the installation, I closed origin and set all origin executables and 'MassEffect3.exe' to 'Start as Administrator'. I restarted Origin, updated ME3, replaced awc.dll and EACore.dll and it finally worked for me.  Good luck !

Don't bother. Tiring of the nonsense,  I bought  a physical copy having already owned the Deluxe Digital version. This is my story:

If I install from the discs with my Origin account, it doesn't treat it as a new product (doesn't ask for the product key, etc.) and Origin shows the icon of the digital version installing as though I am downloading the digital copy. When I attempted to launch, however, I have same problem as before: doesn't launch, shows up as running in task manager,
same old story.

So, I uninstalled the game, I uninstalled/reinstalled Origin, opened a new Origin account and installed the game from the discs. This time, it treated it as a new product, asking for the  product key -  signing off on terms of service,
etc. - and shows up in Origin as the "vanilla version". But that's all that's different. When I attempt to launch ... well ... same old story.

So ... I'm out until I read on a newsite somewhere the words "ME3", "patch" and "launch fix". Not only is trying a week of worthless fixes frustrating, but the mere act of hanging around even just the tech forums is slowly exposing me to spoilers. It is only the fact that I will be spending that time playing the quite  excellent SWTOR that keeps
me from becoming a (justifiably) BioWare/EA Anger Troll.

Good luck.

Once again I've tried everything, but failed to fix it.
I reinstalled Origin and ME3 with DLC (the issue was before I bough DLC) and updated the game. Everything is set to default in Origin. Started Origin and the game as an admin. I reset my PC, again copied EAcore.dll and awc.dll from provided links, repaired the game via Origin, closed all the programs, disabled my antivirus. I also checked all my Win user settings - no limited access. Event manager gives me the same information I posted before. Each time I tried to run the game it was always as the admin. I've even deleted Mass Effect 3 folder in the Win user folder. I've looked though game config. No matter what settings I use the result is the same. The only difference I've noticed is that when I disable the sound, the game opens in a small black window. But nothing happens for a longer while. When I click on it it turns white and stops responding.

Like I said, the same thing happened when I installed the DEMO, but after a few reinstallations it suddenly was working. But sometimes the issue was back the next day.

I also checked all my updates for my sound and graphic cards. Everything is up to date.

Origin Version is 8.5.0.4554 - 144681

The only thing which comes to my mind is to reinstall Windows but I'm not ready for that.

Had the same issue. Got it to work by disabling two of my three monitors. 0_o

Update: Disabling one seems to be enough.

The Origin team has just released an update to fix the release control problem. If you are experiencing this issue please right click on your game in the Origin library and select "Check For Update." This should fix this issue.

It didn't work! Fault still happening.
I get to the authentication screen and it whinges that the key (serial number) does not match the one registered?! Then the authentication wheel turns after I wish to input manually and it crashes. Disks are bought from Amazon.co.uk.

All anti-virus is off, firewall is disabled, Win 7 Home, 8GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 460n (newest drivers), etc, all good to go, and yes, all ports have been opened.

Anyone else stuck at the authentication part rather than the launch crashing? I might add that until 3 days ago I played ME3 demo on the Origin Beta and it worked, the new updated Origin does not even play the demo.....ackkkkk. Posted Image

I've installed my game from my DVD copy on a different computer. It worked there. I think it might be an issue with Windows. Because people mentioned that it doesn't matter if they installed DVD copies or downloaded them through Origin.
I'm planning on reinstalling OS.

If anyone still has the issue of ME3 not launching from Origin (but not crashing, just sitting in the Task Manager doing nothing), I finally got my copy of ME3 to launch.  I tried everything mentioned in this forum, but nothing worked for me.  What finally got it to work is enabling inbound rules for Origin in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
  • Search the start menu for Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
  • Click Inbound Rules in the left pane.
  • Scroll down to the Origin rules.
  • Make sure that all Mass Effect 3 and Origin rules are enabled.  Right click any rule that isn't enabled (the icon to the left will be grey) and choose Enable.
Strangely, two of the four rules for Origin were not enabled for me, but those two were for Domain networks only.  My computer is not part of a domain, and my network connectoin is treated as a Private connection by windows.  I'm not sure why this happened, but enabling the Domain Inbound Rules for Origin allows ME3 to launch!

Hope this helps.

There are no Origin rules at all when I look at inbound rules...

I have similar problems as ppl above - except for the error message...

My game shows as playing in Origins, but does not show in task manager

I have made sure that all drivers are up to date, ME3 says it is up to date, Origin (pre-release) says it is up to date, I have tried running as admin and not, I have tried running with Origin Offline and online, with antivirus/firewall on/off, nothing helps.

When I launch ME3 through Origins it shows ME3 as playing, but nothing pups up in my task manager Its like ME3 is running stealth on my computer with no way to communicate with it or stop it. When I try to shut down my PC I have to cut the power otherwise it just stands there like if it was frozen though I can start new task if I want to.

I have a picture of it, but I'm not sure how to post pics here and if that would help anything. I just know that this is really strange and that I have never experience anything like it before. I'm running out of patience and possible solutions - and EA support ain't worth the time.

After updating everything and reinstalling it suddenly says my game isn't installed properly and that I should repair and update it. I have done that - twice and it is still saying that my game is not installed properly...

After updating to Pre-release Origin no longer forces me to cut the power, but The game still isn't showing in my task manager.

I have tried to DL those files "EACore.dll" and "awc.dll", but that didn't help.

I finally got it to work by following these steps:

Quote: "Thank you for contacting EA.

Can I have you try the following:

Part 1.Start the System Configuration Utility

1.Press and hold the Windows key and R, type msconfig, and then click OK.
2.The System Configuration dialog box is displayed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Part 2.Configure selective startup options

1.In the System Configuration Utility box, click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
2.Uncheck the “Load startup items.”
3.Click the Services tab.
4.Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
5.Click Disable All, and then click OK.
6.When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.

Afterward attempt to start up your game.

Kind regards,

Mads Larsen
EA Customer Support Team."

Hopefully this will help others with similar problems!

Today, I was play the game no problems. Then when I was on the Quarian home world, my whole computer freezes. My only solution was to hard boot. Later today, I went back to play and during the launch screen it crashed every time. It happened right before the EA logo.

I spent several hours today trying to find solutions to the problem. I tried several different things, but nothing worked.

I don't know exactly how I came up with this idea, but anyways, I decided to look through the Bioware folder under My Documents. I looked in C:\\Users\\<User>\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\Save and noticed the file Local_Profile.sav was 0 bytes. Since there was nothing in it, I decided I would delete it. After doing so, the game started right up.

It appears in my cases I had a corrupted save. If you have a similar scenario, give this a try.

- 4. after updating right click again and repair install...

- 5. after repair... Orgin automatically try to update ME3 (I have an error message to run Origin with Administrator previliges... so I restart Origin with righ click "Run as administrator") ... Origin finished the update of ME3 succesfully
