Then no luck at all getting it too work. Its getting kinda frustrating having the game box staring at me and yet still utterly unable to see even the main menu.

^ This. I've see it myself at at friends house, after he tried in vain to get it to launch for a good 4 hours earlier today. Replace the exe.file, and log in with the account you bought both the DLC and the game on, and its a bingo! (As Landa would have said...)

I'm not sure of the legallity of it, though. I guess, since you already paid for the game, it would be OK. Just don't share it, to be safe. But i am merely saying that it is an option, and i apologize if it is not OK.

THIS WORKS> I have paid for the game and had to use a cracked exe. This works! I can log into EA servers and get my DLC that I paid for. I hope this works for everyone. Just get the file and replace the mass effect.exe in the mass effect 3 game folder with it.

Wont work for me, says it can't verify my DLC or some such. I have the Collector's Edition

I deleted C:\\Users\\(user)\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\mtka_tmp which has MassEffect3_activation.exe and some other logs in it and the game finally runs now.

Sadly didn't fix it for me, still gets the same problem with activation jumping to 80 and then just dying.

My game won't start either, though the installation was completed.
I wanted to try that crack, but F-Secure says "Damaging website blocked".
I wanted to try deleting that mtka_tmp, but I searched the whole C for it and it isn't even there.
Another strange thing is, the normal "New programs installed" doesn't show up in the start-menu.
Does that mean the installation was not successful though it said so?

I just followed EA_AgentX's instructions to the letter and it didn't help. I also tried W__D's fix and it didn't work for me. Despite how tempting it is I'm not going to resort to using a pirated version of the game due to my paranoia.

To better isolate this issue, are these errors occurring with digital products (from Origin), physical products redeemed in Origin or third-party codes?

I bought a physical copy of the game today.

My system is 32 bit by the way.

I got the physical disk. I too have completely failed to get anything accomplished. The game simply does not start. No popups, no notifications, no warnings, nothing. I try launching, my computer tries, and then immediately gives up.

I have tried everything short of nuking my HD and reinstalling my OS [Windows 7 64-bit].

Reinstalled twice... getting ready to flash the middle finger and throw the game out with the evening trash. Sorry, but the wait for this game was almost unbearable, and now it wont work. Ufff.

Bought via CDon.com - N7 collectors edition - retail package... should be easy peasy

will install, accept the codes... and the not launch, just say it syncing with cloud service and bam, nothing.

Got a new pop up though:
A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5002).
Says to follow a link to a page with no solution, just more waiting while it analyzed and sent a report.

Have a physical copy (N7 CE), reinstalled three times on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (last time in 'Safe Mode) and always failed at the activation without any info at all (just 'Ding-Ding'). Deleting the temp-folder didn't help. Nevertheless, two times of my countless activation-attempts the file-size changed from 42.078.464 to 22.368.640 bytes, but the game doesn't start and origin downloads the 40MB update again.

My problem is with the Digital Deluxe Edition purchased and downloaded through Origin.

When I try to launch the game, before there is no reaction, there is a window popping up for a very short moment. Now I made a screenshot of that and it tells me the program is too big for the working memory. I have 2,5 RAM. On XP, 1 should be enough. How is that possible?

2.5GB in XP is more than enough, since 512mb is used for XP services etc. So essentially you should have 2GB.

If you press ALT+CTRL+DELETE and check the task manager and goto performance it will show you how much spare ram you have. Also be aware some browsers if left open will take up ram also.

The release date check issue where it goes 30% --> 80% then disappears and game won't launch, is what I have.

I bought the digital deluxe edition from gamestop

win 7, 64 bit

I'm going to clarify what my problem was. As soon as I launch the game MassEffect3.exe starts and then immediately closes itself with no error report at all. I'm not sure if this was already known or not but I'm just trying to help narrow my problem down for EA_AgentX.

That is what happens to mine if I start the game again after the release check crashes, so this may actually be the same problem.

did you pass the release date check?

I never had the chance of getting to the release date check. I never saw anything on my computer about it.

digital standard copy

once again drm screws over an honest customer...and Origin isn't the only service in history to have issues of this nature but EA certainly does have a track record in this area...

The Origin team has just released an update to fix the release control problem. If you are experiencing this issue please right click on your game in the Origin library and select "Check For Update." This should fix this issue.
