What card are you using? If you have one of the past year's card, try updating the drivers.

That's the chipset the motherboard is built based on. That chipset uses an intel onboard graphics which is a no no for DAO. Do you have a stand alone graphics card?

Can you do "Start > run then type dxdiag, click on YES then navigate to the graphics tab" and tell us what display graphics you have? If you see there intel something, then that's not so good for the game.

Navigate to the "Display" tab and the name of the graphics card (whether onboard or stand alone) should be displayed under "Device then Name"

You might consider looking at computer stores next. That onboard graphics is not gonna let you play DAO.

You probably have a branded PC. Branded meaning non DIY computers. What is the Brand and Model of your computer?

Well the good news is that it's a CMT (Convertible Minitower) and has a x16 graphics slot which means that you can get the latest graphics card and install it in the system.

The bad news is that you'll have to spend money on a graphics card and manually put it in.

Won't be a problem if you've had previous experience with tinkering with your hardware.

You'll just have to figure out a budget for your graphics card now.

What is your budget? Most of last years mid range cards can support DAO. Of course depending on the model and the level of graphic intensity you set to play.

Have a budget and maybe myself or other players can advise on a possible card working around your budget.

Ghost. Go to http://www.tigerdirect.com. If you are looking to not spend much money, you can get a pretty nice card there for under $50. Now, it's been a couple months since I bought a budget card there for my wife, which was an Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT with 1GB of DDR2 RAM for $40.00. It's a really good card, and if you have a dual core or a quad core processor with 3+ gigs of RAM, you'll be able to play DAO pretty well, because it looks beautiful on her machine.

Her specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.34GHz

4 Gigs DDR2 RAM

Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2

IDT HD Sound

Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit

It runs smoothly on 1280x1024 resolution with x2 AA, and Medium Graphic settings.
