Having a somewhat similar issue, and have not tried any of these fixes yet as I am not sure they are entirely related, but my game keeps freezing/Not Responding every few minutes, and lasts for a few seconds. This happens during cutscenes, gameplay, generally everything ME3 related. I have never had this problem with any game but ME3.
The reason I ask though, is my game does not crash perse. It locks up, but returns to normal within a few seconds (Usually 6+) afterwards. This has gotten so annoying though, that I am ready to return to the store and try every manner of way to get my damn money back.
Any solutions in this thread, or people with the same problem? I have tried updating and reinstalling Origin, as well as updating my graphics drivers. The game runs pretty much perfectly besides this constant annoyance bombarding me every few minutes.

For me, the game stopped working because the Local_Profile..sav file in the my documents me3 file that also holds the save folder somehow became corrupted. That folder doesn't get deleted with an uninstall command, but needed me to manually toss it (or move it to desktop like I did, allowing me to swap in the saves folder).

After re-installing Windows the game worked fine for several hours.....then all of a sudden "Mass Effect 3 Has Stopped Working." I am not sure if this is the same error or not, as the I believe is separate file. However, after a complete Windows Re-install, I am getting fed up with this !@#$%^&*. There is no way it is my computer at this point.

Also tried directly installing off the CDROM rather than doing an Origin download. Still crashed eventually. How does EA expect to have a customer base after this?

I'm having the same problem. The game has been working well for me for the past few days. Just today I had a brief power outage, and the game suddenly stopped working. I get the same message "Mass Effect 3 has stopped working". I've tried re-installing the game, but to no avail. Please keep me posted if any of you guys find a solution to this problem.

Okay, I figured out the solution to the problem...
Apparently, my Mass Effect 3 saves became corrupted while I played during the power outage.
I first copied out my saved games to the desktop then deleted my Mass Effect 3 folder where my saved games and settings are in My Documents. I restarted the game, and the game automatically created a new save folder.
I then went to copy my folder with the specific profile "John_31_Soldier_120312_2cb223b" folder and pasted it into the new "Saves" folder, which was completely empty with no folders, except for the "Local_Profile.sav" file.
I then booted the game back up and that's it! I got my game back! I hope this helps any of you guys out there with the same problem.

I just had this issue today, I had no control of the computer at all, cause once you click anywhere on the desktop, even if you're on a browser, the computer assumes you clicked something on the game and you can't click anything else other than the game freezing from what you're looking or clicking at.
