Manuals are for wimps. Real men go in and let whatever happens, happen. Just like sex.

Mistakes aren't fun for anyone.

Uh complaining about no manual for a $60 game? Don't make me fracking laugh. I've got something that will make you cry. Try no manual for a $1000 software installation. Yes. No manual. It's a digital manual that has a copyright that says "no copy may be made in any form blah blah blah." So instead of taking the DVD with the manual down to Kinkos to make a bound paper copy for about $60 so you can actually read it while you're working (unless you want to spend another $400 on a second monitor, and have Acrobat running at the same time) you can of course go through a couple of ink cartridges and make one at home because Kinkos won't make it anymore. Used to be you could buy a manual from the vendors, but they don't even print them anymore.

It's only a mistake if the kid is yours.

I've never had Kinkos turn me down when I asked for a bound print out of a digital document. /l;

Well, if you're hard up for reading material, can I suggest the EULA, TOS, privacy policy, for both ME 3 and Origin and the forums, etc. Much longer than modern manuals. But even those don't compare with the manuals from Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights.

End of an era.

The in-game manual wasn't of much use to me. I wonder poor manuals explains why some people give up and never finish complex games like ME 2?

It depends upon who is the manager, and if they're up on the US Copyright laws. If they're not up on them, they'll print it. If they are, they won't. BTW, some manuals do state that a copy MAY be printed, others say NO COPY MAY be printed. Depends upon the company. If you need the software you just deal with it.

Are people surprise? What 2012 game even had a manua? Seriously, it's like the DLC thing. People are always acting like this just happened with ME3/EA.

Bringing this back because I agree with the OP.

If I open up a new bought game and all there is a disk that leaves a bad first impression to me.
All I get is a piece of plastic and a piece of paper (cover) plus the disk.

Of course it is mainly about the game, but I really enjoy going through the manual before putting in the game for the first time.

I hope things will change for the new Mass Effect that is gonna come.
