I just felt we needed needed one before people start flooding the boards with countless threads with their reviews. So, if you've played the game and have something to say about it, two things: keep it spoiler-free and keep it constructive. And, please, only reviews here, no pyramid-quote posts.

Thanks!:)

Scanning sucks. Everything else is great. That's all I've got so far.

This review is based on roughly 4-5 hours playtime and should be treated as such. It will be updated as I play more so the first bit is just the initial feeling the game gives me.

My initial feelings for the game when loading it up was a big smile on my face as I saw the story unfold. Part of me wondered why the heck my Shepard had choosed what he had done, but not a big issue. The more I played the more obviou it gets to me that this si agreat action game, as a RPG game it so far fails badly. I get the feeling this is ME’s version of DA2. A game completely stripped from RPG mechanics, other then the level system and the choice of one of 2 dialogues. The game so far feels like I watch an interactive movie, where I’m given control of the game in combat and outside combat my control of what happens is seriously limited. Sure I can choose what to say, but what does it matter? Yes he gives the reply I want, but a huge part of the dialogues are automatic and no control for the player. It just gives the feeling that I play a interactive movie more then that I actually play a RPG.

Giving the game a score as it is now isn’t realistic, but the first feling I’m left with after 4-5 hours playing is that they have a huge focus on combat and story. Actual RPG mechanics and the things that would make this into a proper RPG game feels like has been stripped away. It’s the feeling DA2 gave me when I realized that I no longer played a RPG game but a action game with some kind of rpg mechanics just added to still make it possible to use the RPG genre as a mark on the box. And this gut feeling tells me I should treat this game as an action game and then if the RPG bits really improves throughout the game I should be happy.

I do really hope I’m wrong about the gut feeling, because if I ain’t it is sad that one of the greatest companies when it comes to making RPG’s seems to have forgot what makes a good RPG. Time will tell tho, but if you are on the fence wether or not to buy this game there is something you should consider. Do you want to play ME3 as a roleplaying game or as ana action game. If you want an action game go ahead, it does deliver action very nicely, but if roleplaying is what you want to look into hold the purchase of ME3 until you have gathered more information how it turns out in the end.
