I could have lived with not liking the gameplay. Gameplay is not even why I play this series in the end, it's the characters and story, and I think a lot of people are the same way.
I didn't need a "happy" ending either. Just give me an ending where my CHOICES MATTER.

Dude, I looked at your history. You come into every thread criticizing the game and say "why don't you leave the forum then?" You are the definition of a troll. Enjoy being what you claim to hate.Tezlaa wrote...

Problem with the ending is you don't have any idea what the consequences of it are. I'm talking about the choosing a colour bit, not the bit after that.

And have any of them activated their copy of ME3 on BSN? If you own the game, register it and go have this discussion in the Story board with other people who've bought the game. If you're not prepared to do that, it's either becauseWildcardCharlie wrote...

ii) you have played the game but not legally
iii) because you're not actually interested in a discussion
If you don't want to be accused of trolling, stop hanging out in the General Discussion board posting threads without any proof you've played the game. Simple, really.

After 5 years of loving this series...this is how it ends. With me absolutely HATING the third game and wishing I had never even bought Mass Effect. The fact that I invested all that time and came to care about these characters, all for it to end the way it did is just an extra punch in the gut.
Thanks for effectively removing the ability to control most of what my Shepard says.
Thanks for turning the combat system into Gears of War Lite.
Thanks for having a couple different small variations on the same ending for us to choose.
Thanks for making every relationship formed with a character over the years utterly pointless.
Thanks BioWare. You guys rule.
1) Removing the control over dialouge
- They did a terrible job on the dialouge in this game. Most of the time there was no neutral option and then the auto dialouge was annoying, but understandable. The autodialouge was neccessary for some parts when Shepard was revisiting characters from the old games, but not throughout the entire game like they did.
2) Gears of War combat
- EA and I say EA and NOT Bioware sees the sales figures for GoW, CoD, and Halo and they want to reach them by making the game more of a shooter and less of an RPG title. The combat is nice, but they focused the game to much on it. Yeah ME1 had great depth to characters and immersion but the combat was extremely flawed. I would take the flaw in combat any day.
3) Endings
- The endings were pointless. I catch their drift by having the control and synergy ending because that would be Shepard corrupted and following the ideas proposed by Saren or TIM. But I mean come on, the entire time playing the first to games, Shepard is all for destroying, what the hell is with the second thoughts. They should have made more variations to the destroy ending and dump the other two. The first two games had multiple factors to the ending, ME3 decides what happens to Shep's body and the Reapers, that's all, everything else predetermined.
4) Character relationships
- The "love" scenes were terrible again. It was almost like DA2 where you had limited dialouge with them. No depth to them. All the characters became 2D.
5) Bioware
- Don't be sarcastic to Bioware, they have made great titles and games in the past. If anyone is to blame, its EA. I'm not attacking anyone, but EA acts more like a business than a gaming company, they care more about the profits than the game itself. Bioware on the other hand, takes creating games seriously, that's why they strive to make their games the most life like. When EA seen the profits of the first game, they wanted to take more control, and that's the reason of the decline in the game.
I won't lie, I do like ME3, but compared to the first two, its mediocre. I will take ME1 any day over 2 and 3. I hate to say it, but the gaming industry is really going downhill, because everyone wants to be a shooter with an awesome online play.

Valid criticism is allowed. If you don't like a thread, then don't read it and don't post in it. If you disagree with someone and do want to post, then explain why you disagree. Give your opinion on the game, not on the other players. Attack arguments, not people.
And if you can't (or won't) behave like that, then please logout and go read-only.
About the game: I'm somewhat apprehensive. But I'll be fine in the end. Hated ME2 the first time I played it because of lack of depth, but enjoyed it after a few months. I shifted my expectations (choices don't matter much, there's no such thing as a big universe) and ended up with an ok game that has enough fluff in it to keep me happy. I'm sure I can do that again with ME3.

I never said I only want to hear praise. What I want to hear is valid, constructive criticism. And to achive that, you actually have to indictate that you know what you're talking about. In this case, that mean's proving you've played the game, and being willing to discuss with other people who've played the game.WildcardCharlie wrote...

See, but it's different for me this time. Because now, I can't play this game without thinking about the awful, terrible ending. I doubt I can even go back and enjoy ME1 or ME2 because all I'll be thinking about is how the ending of the series has rendered them totally pointless to me.About the game: I'm somewhat apprehensive. I just have to pray for a DLC that fixes it, even though I know it won't happen.

game to board account? Are you Bioware staff? Volunteer moderators? No?
Then don't make demands. Maybe someone has 2 accounts: one for the
games, one for the forums. Sensible thing to do, considering Origin's
"we ban you from your games if you misbehave on the forums" policy I
read about some months ago. Or maybe they're EU players that have to
wait 3 more days until release.

I'm playing ME3 right now, I can speak from personal experience this game is vastly different than ME1 and ME2 in more ways than just gameplay. I have very little control on what my Sheperd says and my previous game choices haven't amounted to anything even remotely productive.
Also, it's called foretelling. I said that this would be the end result for nearly a year. Many of you called me a liar and said Bioware would offer far more than this despite all the evidence, info, and logical points I brought up time and again. I simply find this ironic that I was right.

I personally think that the start of ME3 is the weakest of the series so far, and it took me several hours to begin to enjoy the game properly. The preorder bonuses haven't been released yet. There's some buggy camera work where character's heads twist over their shoulders. These are criticisms based on my experience of having played (but not completed) the game.
There's some stuff to like. There's some stuff to gripe about. Now the game has been released, we can actually talk about it based on experience, rather than speculation. And since there's an easy way to prove that you're not speculating (and/or trolling), why not do it?

1) No ME2 face codes transfer. It took me forever to recreate my Fem Shep and she still looks really different to the one form ME 1+2
2) When I imported my ME2 character it didn't ask me what mode I wanted to play in. So I check settings and I have it as "Make FULL DECISIONS", so I'm guessing that's RPG mode? Can anybody help me with this? Yet my Fem Shep speaks most of the cutscene dialog and when I get the wheel of choices, which in about TWO HOURS of gameplay, I think I picked about 5-6 times throughout the game. My Shep just says whatever she wants. It feels so weird specially after ME2 which I thought it was a good balance.
My question is do I have a bug because of the ME2 import? Like what is going on.....It's like I'm watching a movie. Does anybody know if it gets better later on? I literally keep getting 2 choices.
I'm frustrated about it but I don't know if it's my game or if Bioware really DID it this time~

It is sad that after all this build up, all these choices, and building relationships for 2 games that this is the end result of it all. Where did Bioware fail? Was it EA, variables, a combintion of both, or many other things simply going the wrong way?
