Problem is, many of us do not buy it. I would risk the singularity because I do see organics and synthetics and cyborgs able to cooperate and exists in relative peace. Framing this as an absolute divide of "Organics=Good" "Synthetics=Bad" is childish, which is pretty funny if you consider it comes form the same people saying that we want a Disney ending rather than a grim real world one.

I cannot help to feel the divide between organics and synthetics as a reference to racism and bigotry in general, have felt that way since the first game, I really tried all the options to save the money stealing AI, and I felt really sad when it self destruct to try and kill me. That was fear, those were emotions. As Tali answered to Legion "yes" Synthetics can as well develop consciousness and be just as alive as we are.

I also always saw the organics vs synthetics as a metaphor for racism.  (Disclaimer: I am not accusing anyone at Bioware of being a racist) The end game for me basically said racism and bigotry is inevitable.  No you can't live with one another.  At the risk of being uber cheesy I'd like to quote a recent politician: "Yes we can!"

You should have two additional endings: total defeat and total victory ( but only with max prepare and all parties helping), and a third where Shep dies but everyone else is saved.

I'll agree with this only if you remove the multi-player pre-requisite from getting max prepare points.

All i wanted from endings was

Renegade
1. You didn't prepare enough and everybody dies, The Reapers win
2. You sacrifice your alien allies fleets to save humanity and defeat the Reapers

Paragon
1. You didn't prepare enough and have to sacrifice yourself and the human fleets to save the rest of the galaxy.
2. You rally the entire galaxy against the Reapers and destroy them becoming a galactic hero.

Might seem a bit simple but i would have loved this over the current load of crap we got delivered

Don't make me vomit! Blegh! Giving the long-time fans from the previous games a crappy conclusion to appease the newcomers? I wouldn't be surprised considering they released the From Ashes dlc as a perk for avid fans to spend money on. It wasn't 'necessary' to get everything out of the game. Sounds reasonable.

They said the Shepard story ends in ME3.  That it does.  I too long for more of an epiloge showing where things go afterward.  However, the more they tell us of the aftermath, the more they predetermine the basis for any ME game that comes later.  We do know that ME technology still exist, but the relays do not.  Maybe organics will build new relays or invent new forms of FTL travel.

All we know is that Shepard gave it all to give organic life a chance to continue forward (in one form or another).  In real life, happy endings aren't guaranteed.  A part of me wants to think that perhaps that's what the devs had in mind...an unhappy ending for our hero...who got the mission done at the ultimate personal price.

Perhaps that's why in the "best" ending we see what appears to be Shepard still alive?  Leaving open the hope that he is rescued and goes on to live/fight another day but remaining uncommitted to script the remainder of his story for us.

the problem is that nothing you do ever ever matters.  Sure you end your story, but the ending magics up some kid god from nowhere, and then Shepard just takes it. Doesn't fight with his last breath.  I wanted my Shepard to be like Ahab, "if his chest was a cannon he would have shot his heart at the Reapers". But instead Shepard goes meekly to his death.

I want a Kirk style ending.  "I don't like to lose" followed by stunned silence as he does something really awesome.

Like many others I was disappointed with ending, even though I would have preferred more dialogue options in game I still loved everything except the last 5 minutes. People in Bioware told us that choices in previous games would matter which was BS.

Current ending with destroyed relays and end of cycle of reaping feels like they are building foundation for something new/different, which I understand, but it should not compromise the current project. I also did read about different ending they had before they 'fixed' it, something about reapers combating dark energy and reaping of organic life in cycles was because of that (was wondering what happened to all references to dark energy in me2 when I finished me3).

In my opinion even a cut down version of current ending with Shepard and Anderson dying at Citadel and Crucible activating, which could have led to just reapers being disabled/destroyed or all reaper tech being destroyed if Bioware really had to get rid of relays (with current 'perfect' ending incorporated where Shepard manages to reverse the beam and escape to earth). So yeah, current ending minus the kid scene and Normandy ending up god only knows where (with magically teleporting squadmates hopping along for ride instead of dying by reaper beams or staying at earth.)

Something like that could have been done very easily and while leaving alot questions unanswered would have been way more satisfying for fans than current pos.

A Huge thread about the endings too.

Who knew a game could make me feel so ****ty inside, i even paid 70 bucks for bioware to punch me in the gut. Don't be mistaken, i loved the first 99% of the game very much. The tone was perfect, uniting krogan and the turians and especially the quarians and the geth.

The scene with Tali as love intrest on Rannoch after that mission made me feel so hopeful for Shepard and Tali in the future.

And then when i reached the end, bleakness get shoved down my throat and i couldn't believe it, went scouring around internet for alternative endings but turns out i already got the "perfect" ending. Immensely depressing for me, there are no endings which Shepard even gains a semblance of happiness and closure he deserves.

YES!  I said something similar previously.  Kirk and Spock could have beaten the Guardian with a paradox.

Nope, not mistaken at all.. We each and everyone of us here, have had very similar reactions. We all feel raped: used against our will, ignored, abandoned and called crazy because we're upset. It would, have been so much easier if we'd just laid there and took it right??  Sorry.. again, i admit i'm still not rational..

This is perfectly acceptable to me.

Why couldn't Shepard have come up with an alternate solution to the " no win scenario"?  Why just accept what the little bastard ai says?

There should only be 2 endings, the game throughout it states black and white no gray areas, I don't believe control should be one since your fighting TIM the entire time on that, but as for the squad mates coming out of the normandy it's always joker, EDI (if you choose synthesis) other wise it's 2 other random squad mates, it can be either one of your squad mates you had on earth or people you didn't choose, it will always depend on who you choose to protect the thanix missiles with, it's never concrete on who comes out of the ship, with the exception as to who I stated before joker and EDI (EDI depending on which ending you choose)

I also want to take this time and say 'wtf' about the Tali thing. I hope the romance was worth it, because it seemed like she was barely in the game on my end. The whole picture thing seems like a slap in the face as well. Ahhh, poor Tali.

If EDI's still alive, then she replaces one of the two squad members that you took to the final battle.

Yes, we can't take this lying down.
Next week after europe and the rest of the world has finished their game, we have to mass email EA to let them know our displeasure. Perhaps then something could be done, we shall not be ignored.

@Eumerin So if you chose a non-romanced squadmate for the Take Back Earth mission, then you would have them opposed to your LI?

Hey I found it! Why was this thread moved here? There's no strategy in the ending. You just walk up a ramp to pick your choice.

Anyways, I really hope for some dlc. Seriously, this is possibly the worst way to end something like this. I don't mind the whole super weapon thing, but destroying the galaxy as we know it and separating us from the characters we love was a bad choice.
