Mass Effect 3 - Endings

I WILL go back and play it again ... But I'm not going to give 2 Craps about Exploring 100% ... Completing every Side Mission ... Or any of that because I know that they are in the end useless..
Just because the Ending was a Turd doesn't mean I, or all of us for that matter, should deny ourselves a second run of what WAS one the the most incredible games ever.
All you gotta do is just play it through .. Relive the Epic Moments ... Shoot with the beautiful Mechanics and Flawless Gameplay ... And then when Harbinger Shoots you with his Red Beam and the Screen goes Black - ALT+F4 ... Think of it like like the Deus Ex ending of Suicide and letting events play out :S

I just don't understand why a 'happy' conclusion wasn't in the works. Make it hard to attain, but damn it, we have followed these games for long enough to deserve it.We can't for the life of us figure out how none of the game reviewers haven't griped about the ending yet. The only thing I can assume is they don't want to spoil it.
The first reason that many gaming sites and magazines are not going to say anything about the ending is because one your right they dont want to spoil it or make people apprehensive about playing the game, two they are usually constrained to a certain length for their reviews so they have to really pick and choose what to put it. They want to make sure you know all the best parts of the game which takes up a lot of the space leaving them only little bit of space left to tell you about the bad. Again when it comes to the bad in mass effects place they are going to worry that they will wreck things for others by saying the ending is bad, they want to leave that up to you to decide, whether it is bad or not is a personal choice and not something for an unbiased review.
The second reason (and this is just my speculation so please dont take it as pure fact) is that they have to watch what they saw to avoid publishers taking measures against them in the future. Many of these sites have to worry that if they really bad mouth again from a major publisher like EA that they will not be given early copies for a review on games down the road. There is also the chance that some of these sites get funding from publisher like EA and can't afford to bad mouth them and lose the money. Creating good reviews is what gets on the games website, facebook, and twitter which they also need because they need people to know about them and this is the best way to do that.
There is hope though sites like gamerant are now reporting the issues with the game like the framrates on the ps3 so maybe now that they have given their official thumbs up to the game they can get to the real news. We just need to keep spreading the word so that game sites will want to write stories about the problem because they will see it is a big issue that will draw people in outweighing the possible consequences.

Agreed...I'm really shocked it didn't end like that...and apalled.

I'm getting there too. The whole forum thing and especially the Hitler video (epic kudos to you sir...pure epicness) has been very cathartic. I think finding such an overwhelming majority that agrees has allowed me to get to this point.
But they still need to fix it grrrrrrr

Now if this were the case no one would complain, at least I hope not. Make it hard to get though. Make them work for it."Hey you ME fans want to have your LI and crew together ending"? "Well you can but you have to earn it". So many people that want that ending would do just that. And if they failed they'd try again just to get it. Then if they wanted to, they could look on the other side of the coin and see a "what if I want my Shepard to sacrifice his/ her life for the galaxy"? If they wanted to.
Then these boards would be full of "which ending did you choose"?
Person 1 "Oh I choose the ending where Shep saves humanity by giving his/ her life, how about you"?
Person 2 "Well I wanted Shep to have some happiness after all this chaos so he/ she met up with their LI and crew and helped with the rebuilding if the Galaxy".
Person 1 "Hmm sounds cool I'll have to Replay it and see that ending".
I know if that were the case people who were unhappy would be willing to go through it again.

Its funny, apparently the EA presentation at GDC was the most confusing and weird thing ever. EA must be under the control of the Guardian

Honestly I think this is what everyone was kind of expecting in the game, lets be honest for as much as the ending is a bit of a let down you have to admit that for the role Shepard played it really is the "Heroes" ending. Look up the definition for hero if you dont believe me.
But still the big thing that has aways keep me going for this series has been the immersive storytelling, the great gameplay and of course the choices. ME 1 and 2 had quirks sure but they stayed true to the storytelling and choices, I went through a whole play through of ME 1 and 2 right before number 3 was released and still found some stuff I had missed the first few times around and loved how they always played some small part between games.
I just wish they had given us more of that control to decide how it all ended, obviously the one thing that wasnt going to change was the reapers, just like in the other games there was always a constant which is fine, you need that. But let US, the PLAYERS decide how to get there and how it ends, let the characters and the choices WE made, that you allowed US to make impact the ending.
To everyone that has had a hand in making this wonderful series, I salute you, even if I feel the ending was less than worthy of the mass effect name.
Thanks.

You are thinking along the lines of an asian hero-tragedy I think. As you can see, Shepherd fits every..single..one of those definitions, minus the having to die part. THAT would be a martyr, if I'm not mistaken.
I just want to know who wrote the "ending", because there is no way it was the same people/person who wrote the rest of the storyline.

I was actually thinking of this definition (the problem with english is each word has about 10 differen't meanings):
A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.
But you get the picture.

I think, we all would give them a second chance. Try it again, BioWare!Darkieus wrote...
I think Bioware ran out of time towards the end of making this game, thus, the endings we got are a byproduct of that.

Someone is a bit bitter there eh?
That said the ending... yeah... I mean its kind of an emotionally rollercoaster. You and Anderson are sitting watching the earth. Then... well he goes. And then... oh look now you have to make some bull**** decision. f7u12. emotional rollercoaster ftl

I'm more disappointed there's no true epilogue explaining the fate of all the other civilizations or even your friends.
Even something as simple as dragon age origins' text epilogue would have been satisfying.
Yep. I thought maybe we'd get something as basic as that since at the end we get to talk to the characters one last time just like in the DA games. But no, we're left with our friends being stranded, and our choices regarding them left wanting. I was absolutely crushed seeing Tali walk off the Normandy because not only did I have to leave her behind, but she was on some other planet even though I had just created peace with the Quarians and Geth and returned Rannoch to her people. Awesome, I do all that to make her happy, and she is there for about five minutes.

I am so angry.
Not to mention the Zaeed dialogue style, lack of much choice in dialogue and the throwaway of any character/companion in ME2, this is a 5/10 for me. 4.5, probably.
Can't believe BW did this.
