I really don't feel like the main questions were answered.

1. Who and what is the crucible? Why does it take shape as a little boy?

2. What was the point of the dream sequences?

3. This is a BIOWARE game, if any of my team died, I WANT to know about it. Dialogue, cutscene, SOMETHING!

Even a little something like a dialogue bubble, like at the end of Dragon Age, would be substantial.

The little boy is the Catalyst. From what I gathered he is the entity behind the creation of the Reapers the Sentient life that created the first reaper.

I am guessing he takes the shape of a boy because it likely has something to do with how Sheppard percieves him. It is unlikely he himself is actually a boy.

I am still up in the air about tht dreams as well unless that was the Catalyst testing him to see his resolve. I am most confused by the old man and the boy at the end of the game, Who is this old man? Its clear he is from the normandy but how many people were left alive onboard when it crashed?

Is it possible the dream sheppard had about the himself with the boy was a nod at this ending implying that the Old man was Sheppard and the boy his son?

Well, that's clearly impossible because we've femshep, who's even on the cover of the game now.

BTW, because some ppl say that ME3 ending(s) is/are (doesn't really matter, since they're all alikie) similiar to Matrix Rev.

Well, at least Neo's n Trinity's sacrifice serves a reason - Zion is saved, the humanity to be released from the system, many liked characters (i.e. Morpheus) are still alive n together.

No what are we fighting for in ME3 (?):

- many home planets in ruins,
- galactic community destroed,
- your LI and friends left to their doom in The Happy Colony of Incest (Tali & Garrus will obviously die of thirst or/and hunger; oh, and there is a lesbian aboard - you know what I mean)
- NONE of your efforts make any sense (why finding a cure for geno****ium or accommodate geth n quarians?)

Why not just lie and fu***n die, that would be like 10x better ending...!? I mean, I would prefer to see Shepard and his whole crew dead if that would serve any matter worth dying for.

I haven't finished the game yet and now I don't want to. I think the ending where Shepard dies sounds better than the one where he/she is alone on a planet forever.

I think there are still some soldiers and other people on Earth with him, but it does still leave you feeling depressed. =/ Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game, it's just that the ending is a huge letdown.

Sorry I didn't realize that part. So it ends up being okay for Shepard but her whole crew is stuck somewhere? That sucks.

You get it right, but BioWare is proud of this ending.

Wow, I am really disappointed. I had a feeling that the ending wouldn't be too happy but I thought Shepard would get the worst of it, not the crew. I was honestly hoping for a wedding, man was I let down!

the endings are "okay" but i really, really can't understand the plot holes through it. Normandy away from the battle has NO EXPLANATION whatsoever. Harbinger making a very, very brief appearance was a letdown for me too.

Well, at least my Shepard survived (apparently) and i will headcanon him searching his friends.

What ending did you pick and how many points did you have?

i destroyed the reapers, Shepard survives if you have at least 5000 EMS

Not if that ending scene is different if you play as femshep. It would be easy for them to make two versions one with an old man and one with an old woman and just attach them to your corresponding race selection

Would not let me correct spelling Race should be Sex selection

I am so... conflicted about these endings. Almost hurt. But, ultimately, I realize that life is often not perfect, and sometimes good people die in really, really horrendous ways. I also get that this is a videogame and that the company has promised things to its fans that it did not deliver, so I'm stuck. Life is not peaches and cream. But this is often why we use the escapism that video games offer. They allow us to have the perfect endings that we are most certainly going to be denied in our lifetimes.

I was hoping for that too as well. At least one extremely happy ending where the reapers are defeated and Shepard and his love interest get married and have kids. It would have been much better than Shepard survives, but loses his crew.

My story:

Destroyed Reapers
Shepard lives

I think the Guardian is full of **** when he claims that the Destroy choice would kill all AI/synthetics. I think geth and EDI are just fine, as evidenced by a smiling Joker in the end. Liara, Garrus etc. were also smiling after the Normandy crash...so obviously someone was on the way to pick them up. Rest is up to my imagination :)

I am satisfied.

Yes Bioware confirmed there was another ME game and if I were a betting man I would put my money on the kid at the end being the main character.

Where is the confirmation any link?

Can't remember where I saw it, but I do remember someone from Bioware teasing about keeping your ME3 saves. Guess it's less of a confirmation and more of a tease.

This won't matter to some of us, honestly.

There's nothing perfect about the perfect ending. Shepard is completely separated from loved ones. It's not like anyone has had any happiness before this either. Seriously, Kaidan and my Shep are in love again, I made peace with quarian and geth so Tali could be on her homeworld, Vega was supposed to become an N7, Garrus was going to go back to his family, Liara was supposed to find true love and finally rest on Thessia. Everyone has been suffering and fighting for years on my squad for a galaxy who did nothing to prepare for this attack and didn't even listen until the last possible moment??

Am I supposed to be happy that that galaxy is safe now? That some of them get to be happy while my Shepard lives with the fact that her crew is left to die on some remote plane despite how hard they fought for happiness?? How is that perfect?!

I think that some people like the current ending, but why not add other endings, like a "happy" one for those who would prefere that. Personally I would like to see a happy ending with all the squad members, Shepard and LI

There is a small video where we can see that shepard can be alive (in movie directory with bink player). So yes, I assume it works with blue/red/green ending and then it's in bonus depends on what you did in your run

Well, retconning wouldn't be so far from reality. It doesn't matter if you choose Anderson, Udina gets the job after all. It doesn't matter if you rewrite the heretics, the geth will ally with the reapers after all. It doesn't matter Shepard DIES in the beginning of Mass Effect 2 by an atmosphere reentrance and then blasted into the ground at God knows what speed. He is "rebuilt" in 2 years. It doesn't matter if you destroy the collector's base, TIM gets what he wants anyway.
So, I was thinking, in the synthesis/merge ending, you see Shepard being "melted". But now, the concept of "soul" and "software" is intertwined. Even "bodies" are half organic, half machine. So it wouldn't be hard to believe (after all the retconning I talked earlier) if suddenly we find out the Shep's mind is still intact, and he can rebuild a new body for him anywhere he wants... Something like a "Dr. Manhattan" thing. At least that is what I'll headcanon for my Shep.

OMG. I hate all the endings.

In two, Shep dies. In one, she lives. And the conclusion is the same for the crew ; mass relays destroyed and they're all stuck somewhere, unable to return home.

Bioware, how can you do this?!! There's no happy ending to make these three palatable! All 3 are so horrid I seriously doubt I'll do a second playthrough. I'm so sad and depressed. My RL is already depressed and I don't want to play game that does not at least sport one good happy ending!

So much for the months of waiting and this is the lousy conclusion thrown out.

Nope, it ONLY works with destroy ending(red), the other endings require Shepard to sacrifice himself.
