Every multiplayer game on PC has some sort of text chat. Thats like a basic in at least pc multi player. not everyone has a mic, and even for some who do, they shouldn't use it cuz it sounds so bad
There was no reason to take it out so please add it back in

Especially since Origin doesn't even support party chat, so if you're playing with 3 friends you have no way of communicating with them in-game.
Voice chat is not a viable substitute. Not everyone has a microphone. Of those that do, many are garbage. The game also does not have enough settings to make sure that your microphone actually works (detection level, boost, test mode..)

This is a PC feature, thus it shall be ignored.
Along with FoV slider (I know theres a tweak), and one button does everything.

In game I can understand because things are happening pretty fast and so mics are preferable, though I'd still ike to see it there as an option - doesn't take more than a few of seconds to type a short sentence.
But in the lobby I think it's absolutely essential.

Seriously. It's at LEAST needed in the lobby to coordinate what game settings to use, class combinations, and whether people are actually sticking around for another game or not.

Or just for common courtesy...
"Sorry we just finished a game..."
"Yeah he's afk for a few mins..."
For people without voice... Which is pretty much EVERYONE! ... They might have a mike but for different reasons people don't use it.

Text chat is must-have. I know it didn't work in the demo, and can't believe it "disappeared" in the full game... like it was an acceptable option or something.

Amputation... It's a good fix for anything wrong with a limb...
Don't understand why that went outta fashion. I allways liked minimalism.

A good many of us own the game on the PC, and while I wouldn't deign to speak for the majority I feel I can safely assume most of us would like the text chat. As a backup when all else fails, if nothing else- it just seems good business to ensure your multiplayer has as much communication ability as the platform allows, and for PC that's a text chat.
I'm positive we're not asking too much there.

What the hell, Bioware? How do I even try to communicate with them in the game? D:
