I am attempting to launch ME3, but when I double click the button, I get the "Launching Mass Effect 3" popup then nothing happens. I can even do that over and over, but the game doesn't launch, nor is there any thing in my applications or processes to indicate that ME3 is even attempting to run.

This has been happening to me too. I just deleted the folder and am currently re-installing ME3.

There's no excuse for this.

I've reinstalled both origin and ME3, updated all my drivers, updated Adobe, updated windows 7, and set everything to run as administrator. The game still wont launch.

If I launch it from the game exe itself as opposed to through origin, the process shows up in the task manager process tab (but not the tasks tab) until after the date-check is completed, at which point any sign of ME3 running disappears. It seams to me the problem must be with launching through origin.

I have a poooooooossible solution.

Go into your Origin settings. In the first tab, at the very bottom, it will have an option "Keep games up to date." Deselect that.

Same problem here. I managed to get to the Release Date check by setting origin to offline mode.

Origin is broken stop using it!

I think it's cause origin is somehow trying to update your game.

I tried that solution, no dice on my end.

For me, this problem was tied to a corrupt Local_Profile.sav file. The problem was, uninstalling/reinstalling or repair doesn't seem to touch this issue, since that file is located with the save files under My Documents (user/computer/bioware/me3) rather than the main game folder under programx86. Just manually dragging that whole folder to the trash (or desktop or wherever) was needed.

Of course I wasted 6 hours redownloading the whole game (after uninstalling and clearing out that folder), getting it to work, then swapping in the old folder to discover the old error came back. Fortunatly, the saves themselves were ok, just that one file was the culprit.

I have just installed Mass Effect 3 (CD version), when I click to play, the game doesn't launch and I get the "Mass Effect 3 has encountered a problem and forced to close" message. Any fixes to this as no help is offered or solutions provided?

 Try the following:
Clear more room on hard drive (if low on space)
Bring up task manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) and close unecessary applications
make sure all drivers are up to date
Try running game as administrator
Try installing to different location and running

For any of you guys for which the game USED to launch but does not any more, you can try a System Restore

hope this helps somebody

I've tried all bar installing to different location. The application error signature I'm getting is:

AppName: masseffect3.exe AppVer: 1.1.5427.4 ModName: awc.dll
ModVer: 3.2.4.6 Offset: 0008342f

Nothing so far... :-(

For the awc.dll problem there is a workaround here.
See point 8.

I hope that helps!

I've been playing ME3 for 2 weeks (multiplayer and singleplayer), and since this afternoon I can't even launch it... It's impossible. I've tried what says in the page: http://forum.ea.com/...st/8216792.page and it doesn't work...

Anyone is having the same problem since this afternoon???

I can get it to launch from time to time now, but I get dropped whenever I try to do something in multiplayer.

Confirming this problem.

Game has been updated and repaired multiple times. DLL fixes attempted, didn't work.

ME2 was also failing, but that problem has been resolved with origin update/closing.

Yes, after latest Origin update, ME3 doesn't working. Along with ME2 and Dead Space. I only manage to launch DA2...

Same here...
Origin update, now the game no longer works, launches as normal but then... Nothing... The ME3 window never appears...
Though origin seems to think you are actually playing, as your status changes accordingly... :/

EDIT
EternalAmbiguity has it right (thanks!): tried his/her trick and it works though, I'll note, not always, sometimes it does others it doesn't... But sometimes is better then never anyway...
For some reason, chances seem to go up if you clear you internet cache before logging in to Origin, but it may be a coincidence... I'll see how the situation evolves... :/

Ditto. I was playing just yesterday. Now after the Origin update, ME3 isn't launching at all. What are you doing Bioware!? Do you not want us to play your game?!

I have a solution:
- Unistall Origin (I also unistalled ME3, I don't know if it's neccesary)
- Install Origin.
- Don't allow Origin to update after installation.
- Install ME3 (If unistalled).

It worked for me.
