The fact that I could play the game right now if downloaded it via torrent, but have to wait a couple of days until amazon delivers my preorder, makes me wonder whether it was such a smart decision to buy the CE. Plus, because I bought it legally, I have to install that origin crap, get bombarded with spammails from ea, and in case I want to enjoy the full game, I get ripped off when future dlcs are released.

first world problems? ;-)

You might want to use a throwaway email address for this type of stuff.

Incidentally, I've found Origin not to be so bad. It's not a resource hog, the download speed is about the same as Steam if not better, and when you exit Origin it shuts down all the processes.

First: You don't get the point of the "first world problems"-meme. So I suggest that you stop using it.

Second: Of course I do use seperate email addresses for stuff like origin and others. I don't want to mix business mails with facebook spam after all. And origin runs sandboxed on my pc, anyway.
But that doesn't change the fact, that people who legally buy a game always get penalized, while the people who pirate a game are not bothered by the anti-piracy ****.

You do realize the 360 and PS3 versions were cracked far before the PC right?

Like I posted couple of months back Bioware/EA should have canceled the pc version.
The sales of the previous Mass effect titles were a joke on pc.
Torrents are exploding everywhere for the pc version of the game.
So was it really worth it? Everybody and I do mean everysingle person who I know that owns a gaming pc is gonna torrent this game. Some of those people didn't before with the first or second they bought them on ps3 or 360 but  now everybody has enough power in their pc's that these ports run on them. So goodbye to even your console sales. Too bad some developers are still wasting money on pc development not to mention support.

It is just time to face the facts. New big (49$) singleplayer focused games don't sell on pc but those get torrented so heavily that even the console sales suffer.

Before somebody says how skyrim sold nicely on pc. It still sold less on pc than either of the console versions and the devs spend more time on the pc version and modsupport and testing etc.. than they would have ever spend on the console versions and they lost a TON OF SALES TO PC PIRATES. hell the game is still beign torrented in the thousands and the sales are dying fast...

Go away. It has nothing to do with you, what Bioware and EA decide to put their titles on which format is their choice.

It's their business decision and unless your secretly a major shareholder don't even try going there okay.

If you buy console games keep doing so, others buy on PC so give it a rest. It's up to EA and Bioware not you.

This guy seems ignorant, if you're going to torrent games that you actually think are quality, then you're a pirate, no excuse about "trying" whatsoever. So your friends are pirates.

Also, the console versions were out far sooner.

This is stupid.

PC gamers are the best Gamers in the World. Not only do they command respect they don't even need to pay for the games they play. Publishers should be honered that they illegally downloaded their game. sarcasm

Hyperbole... Solves world hunger, poverty and cures cancer?

I'm surprised I did not realise this sooner.. Explains why so many people use it. Why else if that is not the case?
