I'm about midway through an XBox360 ME2-3 run with Sheploo, and I've been thinking I'd like to revisit Femshep once more. I used to roll with Femshep about 80% of the time! simply because I loved Hale's VA work.

ME3 kind of ruined Femshep for me. The models all seem so bleached. The complexions got progressively more fair, the make-up became very faint, and the options were not really expanded. As much as the overall graphical presentation on consoles improved, it became harder to create a good Femshep, for me, on XBox360. Combine that with her funky body proportions, and the loud, stomping sound she makes when walking, and I no longer find her worth the time I have to spend in Gibbed creating her.

It's all a it off topic, but it guess I wanted to vent. Here's to hoping the next ME character creator is much, much improved. DAI is a huge improvement, but still isn't nearly up to par.

I'm always impressed with the textures created by those behind the PC-mods. At times, they make me wonder what the heck the original devs were doing.

Using the Kai Leng face texture, I was able to recreate Lee Byung Hun pretty well. Don't know if I screenshot it or not, but if I go with that face in my upcoming playthrough I'll throw it up here.

Sounds cool. I have seen far too little ethnic variance in Shepards. The CC has made it increasingly difficult, over the years.

Is that texture accessible to console players with Gibbed? I guess I got out of the MaleShep modding game too long ago.

I'm not sure. I had to use texmod to swap the textures, so I don't think so but I'm not certain. The ME series CC is very limited. If they take pointers from the DAI one however, that should no longer be a problem.

not homophobic at all. Just have a good eye, and your shep really looks like right off the cover of a gay magazine. You should take it as a compliment, unless you're homophobic.

Yeah, the DAI CC is a good starting point. I can build pretty much any face with that thing. It's amazing. It still lacks proper lighting, life-like hair, and body options, but it's a great starting point. I hope the ME team doesn't lazily adopt it in a "well, no need to expend any more resources here" kind of way. It still needs a lot of improvement to make it a worthy "current-gen" character creator.

That's one of those things about mods - they don;t always work, but I'm sure you had a lot of fun playing that character.  It makes them easier to breathe life into, and be a part of the game when they look amazing.

I've got a console Shep, so no cool textures or custom anything for her. It doesn't matter though, my Shep likes keeping it real anyway by being 100% original recipe.

Why female Shepard? I started playing as the default male. Played for about 3 hours. Went back to see if the female version's dialogue was different and found the female voice actor about 789% better than her phlegmatic-sounding guy counterpart (sorry, dude, you're good but she's much better). Thus, the die was cast, and I decided to stick with my female character for the rest of the series.

 

 

Preach it! I play on the PC, but I also prefer everything vanilla.

Your Shepard is pretty. She reminds me of Marion Cotillard. Why no romance? Is she a strict Alliance woman?

It's astounding that a 'simple' hair mod can make such a huge difference for femshep's looks. No offense but the 'unmodded' femsheps tend to end up very similar looking to ones posted before.

The only thing I really mind is not looking like another NPC in-game.  With limited resources, it'd be impossible not to have similar-looking Shepards with someone else.

There are some very talented people out there. I remember when getting the Allers or Ashley hair was the height of modding powers for FemShep's hair. Now there are plenty of unique styles. Thank goodness!

This is my 'canon' Shep.  I've only got one pic of him saved and it's from ME1.  In ME3, I gave him the slicked over, parted hair cut, but otherwise, he looks the same (more or less, given the engine change).  He was full-blown paragon, spacer, soldier, and went single for two games before Kaidan came to his senses.  He's also a terrible dancer and has a weird smile.....
