Anyone else having this problem? I load Origin/ME3 with the mic plugged in, but nada. Have tried both push to talk and auto voice, but the mic icon on the lobby screen is always red.

Yes, I am. But in my case, the icon is always green. No one can hear me, the mic "waves" in the lobby don't go off - I can hear other folks, but nada on the mic whether it be push-to-talk or always on.

Running Win 7 x64 professional, x-fi gamer soundcard, and a Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset on the front panel jacks (analog). I can confirm the mic works fine, records fine under other programs, and is set up in the ME3 audio panel to match the creative setup; the mute button is off, the connections are fine, and yet...

(the mic did work on the demo multiplayer in the lobby a grand total of one time, then cut out).

Folks, a little help from CE or Digital Edition owners, please, if you could-

I reported my problem to the EA Tech help, and they were polite and decisive - they sent me to read social.bioware.com/me3soundtrack.php. I said "no worries - I'll pop over there and read that, though I am not sure what it has to do with my in-game microphone push-to-talk and always-on settings not responding; I'll go right wawy.".

Only one little glitch. I own the regular pre-order edition, not the fancy ones. So I am not able to access that page for troubleshooting, becasue I can't register a CE or DDE, because I am a registered regular edition owner.

So, can someone pop in to that link and see if they have any suggestions for getting my mic working? I can hear other folks, but I can't talk. I'll take any help I can get...

Uh, yeah. That's just the link to the soundtrack files. Don't know why they directed you to that.

Bumping this thread, as still haven't managed to find a fix to the issue. Any help would be much appreciated. Playing MP without voice feels pretty lonely. :<

I have the same problem. My mic is blue in the game lobby, but push-to-talk doesn't work. Always on seems to be working though - is there any known solution to this issue?

This needs to be adressed, now.

I have the same problem as well. My mic is blue, but push-to-talk doesn't work. Most other players I happen to see in the lobby also have a blue mic, but there's no indication of anyone speaking and I can't hear any chatter.

The only solution that worked for me was to go into windows and increase the gain on your mic to near maximum. Just keep in mind to turn down your mic in programs like Ventrilo, Mumble, Etc if you take this route.

I have seen another suggestion as well:
Change the mic settings to Always on. Exit the game. Restart the game, then change the settings back to push to talk. (This did not work for me, but others have said it worked for them)

I'm giving this a bump, because I'd like to know if there's a fix, or if there's going to be one.

I have the same problem. The mic works just fine everywhere but in ME 3 MP... And I get only my teammates characters voices in the headphones, the rest goes out in the main speaker... Weird

Some of you might need to make sure that "Microphone +20db Boost" is checked. This can be found in the microphone proprieties under the custom tab.

I've got the same problem, I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Creative x-fi audio sound card (it was free with my old motherboard), and using the front pannel for my audio. I know the front pannel mic jack is working because I also use it with other programs but push to talk doesn't work for me at all.

Try enabling Force Voice Chat Audio.

By default its turned off, this might seem unrelated but it fixed the issue for 30-40% of my friends.

Would it hurt to try the back panel? :wizard:

Using the back panel ports fixed the issue on my older pc when I was still playing games like battlefield 2.

I'll try the force chat in a bit and see if that makes the push to talk work. The back pannel is a royal pain for me with my setup, I would have to turn the whole thing off, run the cable, and take apart part of the machine just to plug it in.

Did anybody bother checking the sound options IN ME3 to make sure it's setup correctly in there?

Go to Extra > Options > Sound and make sure your Voice chat input Device is selected to the mic or whatever else your using.

I had the same problem till i did that; I hope it helps.

I have the same issue as well. Mic is on, Sound settings within Me3 are fine. Mic works perfectly for vent, skype, mumble.
