The scoring system is pointless, 10/10 means nothing to me, there's no way anyone who puts proper effort and detail into their reviews would give any game a perfect score, for every game has it's flaws.

Still, all things aside, I would give ME3 an 8/10, however, due to that detail that angered over 70% of the fan basis (And No, I don't mean the DLC), you get lowered to a 6/10.

I completely agree. That's why I like Kotaku's version the most. It has "Should I buy this game": Yes, no or Not yet.

I like this because then I get a straight answer to that and I can read the review why do they think that.

Btw, related to the subject. 8 for Hate isn't true. 8 IS A GOOD SCORE! GET OVER YOURSELVES!

Polish "CD-Action" gave ME3 score 9/10.

They copied part of their review into their site: www.cdaction.pl/news-25306/mass-effect-3---recenzja.html

Scores have been added to the main page (if I mised any point them out please).

Please use this thread to point out media reviews. Not to discuss the reviews or discuss Metacritic or discuss other ME3 game issues. There are plenty of threads for those, this thread is for fans to easily find media reviews.

Thanks.

I trust OXM. No spoilers in any of their features without huge warning, nothing in their review, they love the game. And it got 10/10, a fair reflection, I'm hoping.
Congrats BW, by the way.

Whoops, so you did. I've added them. Is the 8 at the bottom of the Edge review their score?

Yeah. 8 from Edge! I think that qualifies as rather good from them! x

Congratulations, Bioware =] I don't have the game yet but I'll be getting it in the next few days. Trying to keep myself off the forum as much as possible (though I can hardly do that).

Cheers!

Oh boy, I haven't been on these Forums in a long time, but just had to drop back and say congrats on the big scores thus far :D

I'm patiently camping in front of my letterbox with a tent, stove, food supplies, beer and a guitar waiting for my review copy of ME3 to arrive from EA. Curse you and your slow delivery, EA. CURSE YOU! Having to watch everyone else play it is a nightmare, especially as Prima just sent me the official game guide to review as well. So far I've resisted all temptation to read it from cover to cover.

Got to admit, as a big fan of the series Mass Effect 3 has a lot to live up to, but so far the scores indicate it has done that and far more.

considering lot of the game reviews in official outlets are "bought reviews" i would trust the user reviews more :) though i dont doubt most will rate it around 8/10

Hehe. I see the norwegian and swedish Gamereactor reviews are up, might as well add the danish one too when you're at it, it's quite excellent:

www.gamereactor.dk/anmeldelser/98221/Mass+Effect+3/

The one from Finland is also up, they like to be included when Denmark, Sweden and Norway are represented.

This reinforces my belief you can't trust media reviews or big names in the gaming journalism industry. So many perfect scores and no big time dissenting opinions? riiight. I smell pay offs.

Or maybe out in the real world the game is well received because....I dunno, it's actually that good.

Anyone who seriously thought this board, or places like NeoGAF, or random people making Youtube videos, were an accurate representation of how this game would be received, is delusional. I said this several times leading up to the release, because the same thing happened with "ME2".

If you are completely disconnected from reality then yes, I can see how the praise would be suspicious.

Ironically the same people disregarding positive reviews as "paid off" would reference reviews nonstop if they were negative.

I'd consider massive numbers of user reviews as "real world", since these are the people actually buying the game. A few journalists working for a company who get it for free or are chummy with the game companies so they can get exclusive access at various times, don't seem like real world to me.

Most major review sites will give the game ridiculously high reviews due to the humdiggery behind all of it, as other people have stated, the majority of the reviews are "bought".

Reading through a large amount of them I agree that many aspects of the game have been improved and the story was somewhat gripping. There were quite a few dissapointments however they can be mostly over-looked due to the other improvements. However what I seem to find odd is how many sites and magazines have labelled the ending "fitting" and have described it as a "wonderful end to a fantastic trilogy".

I fear I must ask, but are the people reviewing the game clinically insane? The ending is as fitting as a 2 fingered child's glove. Whilst I can credit Bioware with having one major slip-up with Dragon Age 2, I must ask what on earth happened with ME3, it's as if Bioware waited until the bitter end to throw in the towel, give fans the middle finger and high-tail to Vegas with their money.

I enjoyed the ending. You wanted sunshine and rainbows in a story about fighting off a cycle of galactic genocide? If it had ended with Shep and his LI galloping across the galaxy in their love while galactic civilization circle-jerks itself for being so superior to the living beings that came before it, THAT would have been a crappy end and I would have felt cheated.

I haven't finished the game yet, but so far, I'd say it's the best, most thrilling, most epic game I've ever played. Maybe even better than Metal Gear Solid (That means a lot coming from me, trust me). This game is incredible. It certainly has its share of "ho-ly... ****" moments.

Overly grueling bugs, bad textures, and a bad ending don't warrant perfect score. Good game or bad. This is almost as bad as Skyrim

I agree, it's a very respectable finish to a great series.

Heh, yeah I'm quite a bit in and I feel I'm at best gathering an armada for a glorious but futile Charge of the Light Brigade.
