So I think it's obvious morrigan wanted to use flemeths little tactic of conceiving a child, teaching it magic and then taking over it's body with the baby, this kid is going to have the soul/strength of an "old god(?)" and would make an insanely powerful host for morrigan, her excuse for wanting to 'save something' doesn't really hold water..I have a feeling her and flemeth will play a big part in DA2, even if you 'killed' flemeth she probably never really died or something.

although, in the end sequence a lot of text comes up talking about stuff that happens over the next how many years? if there is a DA2, do we expect it to come after all that text or take part during it or whatever? any idea how far into the future that ending text gives us insight into? a few years at least anyway.. probably enough for the child to have been born and grown a bit.

It says that magicaly inclined people are easier to posses not that they take their power. If Morrigan were to do that she would push the Old God's soul outside of the body/ Replacing it with hers. I think it's more likely that she wants power through the Old God. Using her influence over her child to further her own goals.

In another thread somebody pointed out an interesting thing: When you ask Morrigan about shape-shifting she says that you live with and study the creatures whose form you want to take. Flemeth takes the form of an ancient dragon. When did she have an opportunity to live amongst ancient dragons?

There were seven old gods, and each was possessed by a demon (one of the mages who entered the Golden City), creating seven archdemons. There were four Blights prior to ours - that accounts for five.

Where are the other two Old Gods/Dragons/Archdemons?

Flemeth encountered a demon and became some sort of unique abomination.

You don't suppose she was one of the Old Gods, who became herself rather than being entombed underground? And Morrigan needs the power of an Old God (her baby) to effectively fight her?

Maybe that's not quite it, but the dragon form she took was no accident. It was a major clue, I think.

Well...there were 7 "old gods" yes, but that doesn't mean there were only 7 dragons..in fact there were quite a few dragons in the not so distant past. If any of Flemeth's histories are to be even remotely believed then she was alive in times that had lots of "ancient" dragons...
