And then, this is where it starts going down hill: the ending. There is no epilogue. I find this a big issue because apart from fighting the Reapers, over ME1 and 2 we have grown to like not just Shepard, but his/her squadmates. And there's no closure to them. What about the fleet? How did life go on after the 3 choices? You can't just show a random planet with characters coming out of normandy, show a boy with his grand dad, and that's it. This is not the right way to end a game with a power packed story.
In fact, to be very honest, I kinda liked the story's ending concept, where Shepard sacrifices himself/herself. It sucks for my Shepard to die, but I felt it managed to bring out the powerful emotions, together with the wonderfully composed soundtrack. Screw the reapers, I just want to end this war, that kind of thing. And then I realised that in every ending, Shepard dies. IF this was a story that you had written over 3 books, I wouldn't have any regrets in buying all 3 books. But this is a game, which you claimed that every choice has it's consequences. People who buy this game would be replaying it just to see how different choices play out. To me, having choices becoming "War Assets" just don't cut it. Speaking of which, different amounts of War assets have very little impact on the ending. Unless if you go in below the minimum.
Final verdict: 7/10. Like I said, I am easy to please. But please do not take it for granted.

Me 2 95/100
Me 3 85/100
About ME3
Pros
Multiplayer - coop its a dream come true
Graphics
Audio
Voice acting
Intervention between random 2 ppl that talk randomly into citadel
New scanning mode
Reaper chasing you around the galaxy map.
Missions with full darkness on the map, and had to explore only with my flashlight.
The geth mission inside their network! that was awesome.
War Room - nice ideea, esspecialy when you could check your forces strengh.
Some of the random/interacting talks in the game.
Storyline, specialy geth and quarians
Storyline - now here i have to add some comments
Even tho it seems to be a liniar story mode, i liked alot the way i need to go and get the whole galaxy together, mostly with "favor-for-favor" strategy. But most of the time i felt like sheppard is playing the game, and i am not playing the game, i am just watching a movie... and had few options on how to choose where to go, and who to help. And then.. comes the ENDINGs (facepalm).. MY GOD, will talk about this as the last subject into this post.
Cons
To few choises in dialogs, i felt like i was choosing A or B, and then stood 3 mins for a cutscene and again A or B.. and so on... not to mention that i felt like i had like only 20 pure paragorn/renegate options.
The dreams.. cmon really? TOTALY POINTLESS
Random bugs while using to climb down a ladder, my char would stop climbing down stuck at the top of the ladder, and after 3-5 sec it would break free and i could walk around the area or jump straight down.
Journal - really really bad...! why not make it like in ME2, mains and side quests. At some point in the game had like 20+ quests in my journal and didnt knew where to go and do ****. 0 info about side quests!! if i didnt alt tabbed and search for walkthroughs or info about the sidequests i would have totaly skip them.
Romance Part. When i played ME1 - 2 i chose ashely at first, then went for miranda, then seen (hear voice acting) of ashely`s letter and corrected my path back to be reuinited with ashley in 3, But when i saw what you guys DID with Ash in ME3, as a romance roleplay.. i felt so damn dissapointed. I mean in me1 / me2 i had after each mission a damn flirt button with the char i was interested. Here after each mission i am getting 0 feedback from my romanced char. And i think that with ASH is the worst of them all. She constantly thinks i will backstab her, she is unconscious like 25% game time(hospital + drunk in her quarters), 45% she is responding to me with yes commander (and thats it) or with a random cerberus involving cutscene, 15% i talk about a book and how things will when we finaly take the reapers down, 15% is FINALY the flirt side with a 2x kiss, and a comon "its the end of the world cheap fk". When i saw this i was like really? REALLY? WHY the hell should i keep my self for Ash or Tali, when most of the game i was dominated by Liaras ways to persuade me (i felt like the game chose for me the romanceable char). Even the damn new reporter is more romance appealing then ash and tali.
Tali romance and her face! this was one of my favourite chars in ME2, i even went and played it again and left ash behind just to have an extra save with Tali as a romanced CHAR. But when ME3 came and i went down on Tali way, besides that i was 1 click away to make her commit suicide, when i was at the final missions and got Tali, i thought yea Tali lets see your preaty face... BUT NOOOOOO, why make her face? instead let it again in dark with 0 cutscenes about it ( i mean she took the mask off on her planet world, after i made geth and quarians live together in peace, show me your face ). Yea all you guys did is to add a picture of tali in my quarters, and that one was semi blurry and with sun lens effects.. really now WHY THE FK WOULD YOU DO THAT?
Space bar for everything. Do you realise that you bounded SPACE for like 5-7 functions?
1. interact with others 2. Use 3. Run 4. Get to cover 5. Roll from cover to another cover 6.Vault over an obstacle 7.Jump accross something
While on singleplayer you dont see this as much as a bad thing, when you join multi coop its a hell!! When you see yourself between 3-4 enemies and want to run away from them, you will see that actualy your char took cover to a wall near enemys and when you press space again u roll towards them, or nearly at the same position
Abord the normandy crew. While i liked some of the interractive talks, commenting on the last mission/events. I hated that i couldnt talk alot more to a single char and have his opinions on every mission i made, instead i usualy got the same answer "yes commander"
The info about whats happening in the galaxy and the info about reapers. I would have thougth i would get more about the mystery that is called REAPER. But nope, no side quests, no extra VIs, not even a clarifing chat at the end to explain exactly WHY, WHO, HOW LONG, How many cycles, Who were the inventors of reapers, I still have like 10 20 questions to ask about this, and those came to me in like 1 mins of thinking about it.
THE ENDINGS
Now this is the most awful part of the whole game. WHY SO SAD? WHY:unsure:
I played the game and thought about it like i was watching / playing a good movie for 18Hours or so.. and then i took a blue beam to the citadel so called the catalyst.
Before i have to chose one of the endings for witch i worked my ass to gather the WHOLE DAMN GALAXY, i went there up just to talk to illusive man (HOW did he get there?) and convince him its a bad thing he is doing and ofc not to shot anderson (also HOW did he get there, i took the blue beam alone, even tho he said he took it just a few sec before me - how come? i would have seen him take it before me!!! ). So i saved Anderson, just for him to "die" or "fall asleep" while we saw earth from upabove.
Now after that ofc i should help the fleet with the catalyst, and up i go again to meet mister TIMMY a blue WTFDONOBBQ kid from my dreams that explains to me in very few detalis whats up with the reapers. And i was like BIATCH PLEASE i already knew that, show me the real stuff, and wazaaa with this catalyst, and after that he told me about the 3 stupid-emo choises i had to make... and then i was again like BIATCH PLEASE this is the wrong game!!!! I should have saved the galaxy and drink my brandy with dr chakwas, and shoot soda cans with garrus, and build a house with tali, and have a baby with ash, and make a joke about edi and joker, and headbut wrex .... but NOO we like to add infiltrators with onions grenades for the last 3 choises in the game, so that everyone who plays the game can get really dissapointed and fall into a semi depresion, and start checking forums about WTF happened with last mission, and to beg for a DLC with better endings. REALLY BIOWARE WHY RUIN THE GAME WITH THESE ENDINGS
So all the choises i made during ME1 ME2 ME3 were for nothing?
I for one i chose the RED path .. to destroy the reapers and syntetic life. Its why i came there, its why i rallied the whole galaxy! i dont wana controll them and end up a semi illusive man, i dont want to combine syntetics with organics, evolution aint done in 1 decision!!! I wanted the reapers dead and my happy ending. But instead as a final cinematic i saw that normandy gets destroyed and joker + 2 more chars end up on a remote island, and what happens to the rest of the chars? with the rest of the fleet? do all of them remain in earths orbit? why wipe all synthetics? i saved geth and quarians just to destroy them 3 missions later? ....... or was it all a halucination and then i really hate you for real!?!?!
The feedback! You guys want feed back from us, we give them to you ! Now give us your answers about our feedbacks, enlight us !
Ps: Sry if i wrote some bad english here, i just wanted to express most of my thoughts about this game, and this post was after a looong day at work..
Have a nice day.

I looked at the endings before my CE turned up so I knew what to expect. Played with a mainly-paragon adept femshep (it's always femshep) with synthetic sympathies, so went for the synthesis ending. Played on normal level. About 30 hours spent. I'm not brilliant at FPS so use the power wheel pause a lot. PC player.
In short
A bit disappointed; not with the levels or work put in by Bioware - still an amazing game and I've loved the ME series intensely. Brilliant characterisation and universe... but ME3... well it just doesn't have that replayability factor ME1 and ME2 had. By this time with both I'd restarted with another Shep...
The gameplay isn't varied or intense enough for me: add in the increased auto-dialogue and the similarity of endings / lack of epilogue, and it means I don't know if my other 2 femsheps will get played soon - shame, I'd like to see the Liara romance, but then again, can't see the point unless Shep can live.
However, I would say the way I played the game made the Synthesis ending make sense. Joker and EDI Adam and Eve in Eden, with Traynor there for shower fun, and I didn't see it as a bad ending at all.
PROS
- brilliant levels and art design... some of the best I've seen for a long time: perhaps all the haters about the recycled assets in DA2 meant that more emphasis was on this. As I was going through I was thinking it's a shame some of these levels are so short, would be good to see more of this level
- Jennifer Hale again; brilliant. Especially with nearly-dead Shep ... great voice acting
- The crew writing - brilliant as always: the end chats with the team in London, the scenes in the hospital (had romanced Kaiden in ME1) ... really really good
- EDI's character
- The dude who replaced the va for Mordin. I actually thought he did a damn decent job with that poisoned chalice
- James Vega - again: good character
- The alliance/military feel; felt like natural shep
- The 3 brutes on tuchanka - the only time I got a "Holy sheeeeeeet!" moment the whole game
- Javik - the From Ashes level isn't memorable, but the character was
- The Tron 2.0 style Geth server level was cool
- Only getting 1 "holy sheeeeeet!" moment. I remember playing ME1 (the whole attack up the citadel wall) and ME2 (suicide run) and getting lots of them. Never really got that sense in ME3 - maybe it's playing at normal but I never felt like I was up against impossible odds just annoying big monsters who were hard to kill off. Perhaps its a difficulty curve issue or the order I did things
- Same thing though, no comparative to the "Tali in the ventilation shaft" in ME2 putting a bit of pressure on, it was all "hold this position" while you get swarmed... way too much re-use of the "split squad up, use a big gun, here comes a swarm" gambit
- Levels were so short - e.g. the monastery or even Thessia. The only level that seemed not to pass in 10 mins was the Palaven moon and like I say, I'm not that good at games... just seemed to be platoons of enemies rather than the regiments you'd face in ME1/ME2. Just felt like getting into the swing of it and it was time for an evac
- Cerebus still doesn't make any sense: evil but ineffective, TIM not ruthless enough to kill Shepard, hmmm... More backstory to explain away ME2 (they did a bit in the Cerebus labs) would have helped
- Whole mechanism for side quests felt a bit naff apart from the ones given from Traynor
- Reaper alertness on galaxy map a poor gameplay device. Game over screen; oh ok reload then, at least I know which planet has the stuff on... can't really see the point of it tbh
- Kai Leng - crap animation, i mean WTF: just looked stupid and not
grounded in any reality at all. The "boss" fight with him was over so
soon, and just felt... odd - Some other animations odd looking too
(e.g. cannibals). Got a number of glitches in conversations - including
one weird Shep/Liara conversation where Shep decided to look in any
other direction other than Liara

A question though, we all want a better ending made available it would seem, but how exactly could they integrate that in to the game? Obviously it'd have to be DLC or some kind of patch, but how exactly could/would they get it to work? DLC comes up as mission in the Journal, seperate to other quest, for example.

Pros:
-Combat. Beautifully done this time around, a huge step up from ME2
-Weapon variety and customization. Felt very much like ME1, in a good way
-Cutscenes and story in general. Though there were some holes in the story here and there, most of it held up very well. The scene with Anderson and Shepard at the end was beautifully done, even moreso if you kept the uncut dialogue.
-Characters are still deep and interesting for the most part, some even moreso than previous games. I even came to kind of like Vega by the end of the game
-Level design... hawt diggity
-Shepard's face actually shows emotion now! Woohoo!
-Most of the game in general... Awesome stuff
Cons:
-You saw it coming... The ending. This was the biggest, hole-ridden piece of work I've ever seen at the end of a video game, never mind at the end of a series this big. I felt like someone had punched me in the gut multiple times when the credits started rolling.
-All them cut corners. Tali's face? It's like unmasking Master Chief... It can't be done, especially if it's a half-assed attempt with a stock photo from the internet. Man-child with gramps at the end cutscene? Yeah, I noticed.
-The reaper backstory... Although it's tied in with the ending, I thought it deserved it's own mention. Synthetics destroy organics every few thousand years to keep organics from being destroyed by synthetics... Yeah, that's a real great reason. Maybe I'll go steal something from the store so someone else doesn't steal it.
-Dialogue options... They don't feel as important. Especially when the only two are either "I'm okay" or "It's fine". Same goes for interrupts... Half the time they make no difference to the conversation.
-Choices from the previous game feel like they've been largely ignored. Other than a few pivotal moments (between the geth and quarians in particular), it feels as if my decisions really didn't matter whatsoever. I understand that it's hard to make a game with so many paths, but rewarding a huge decision from a previous game with a few war assets seems hardly acceptable.
-Explorable planets. In ME1, I could roam the galaxy's planets in my trusty Mako, or pop by Noveria to see if any new shipments had come in. In ME2, I could take a walk about Illium, or get my groove on at Afterlife on Omega. I understand that reapers make it difficult for planetary tourism, but taking away the exploration aspect took something very important away from the game

Easly could have be a 10/10 game. But there's something...
Bioware, you can't be serious to think the ending and epiloge, were worthy to terminate this series?
-So what's wrong with it?
I liked the 3 choices, good idea really. Shepard is the hero, who destined to save the galaxis, and to defeat the Reaper threat. The others, only helped him to get there. The main plot was about the fate of galaxis's species. The 3 choices represent the fate OF the Reapers. Okey, again good idea. 3 option about HOW we can save the galaxy.
The problem, that made me very disappointed. Doesn't matter which I choose. Galaxy saved, and doomed to fall back to the middle ages... Normandy crash on a planet... What about our teammates, the fleet and the other races? Something little information about their fate, could have been nice. Instead the same video, with very smal differences. Mostly the colors... I'm no content with it.
Was that this hard to make a proper video? The movies folder is ~3.2 Gb, additonal some minutes quality video won't matter... Did you even try? Was that really necessary to put out our eyes this way....
And the find&deliver sidequests were a bit annoying. Besides, four function on one key(run, dodge, cover, use) I nearly sreamed sometimes.
So far, the combat was satisfying. The sightly opened maps, made the fights challanging. Enemies can flank us etc. The cutsences before and inside missons was a great move, the game become more film like.
I can continue to count what I liked, but it take a while, so I won't.
Conclusion good game, bad end.

I honestly have no idea what I should be writing about this. This doesn't mean I didn't like it.. It's just, so depressing after seeing it. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not on the same boat as the majority of people here, hating the ending because it supposedly "sucked". Sure, there are questions left unanswered, particularly how joker and crew members that were with you managed to escape with the Normandy. But aside from that, I thought the ending was bittersweet and acceptable. I don't exactly know what your intentions were, so, maybe the execution could've been a bit better to explain what you were trying to achieve.
I think most people dislike it, because they don't understand what you were trying to tell with it. What I drew from it was that the catalyst was some sort of central intelligence that governed the Citadel, the Mass Relays and the Reapers. Some form of God if you will, but not being all-powerful, since Shepard is the only one that can choose the three options. Since all organics eventually create synthetic AI, and then try to exterminate them, the synthetics will always choose to exterminate the organics in the long run, and to prevent this from happening, the cycle was in place, where both synthetics and organics co-exist in reaper form. This way, organics can still naturally evolve, and when the danger of synthetics arise, they are extinguished so the lower forms also have a chance to arise.
Now that the Crucible is available after many generations, the organics have proven that they have the ability to overcome the synthetics, and even co-operate, and thus the old cycle is no longer needed nor viable, and so, Shepard is given the choice of what the best future for the galaxy is, and the mass relays are destroyed because they were there to control the development of organics and therefore are now also no longer needed. For the ones who don't know, the word "crucible" means something like a severe trial or a difficult decision or test. So, it kind of makes sense in that way, and what happens after it's used is left to your imagination, which is not a bad thing. And maybe Shepard just didn't question the catalyst so much because he was tired and just wanted to end everything?
So BioWare.. I think you did a great job with the ending, at least in concept. I think the execution could've been better, particularly in trying to provide the players with a bit more detail, because I was confused too when I finished it. It was after thinking about it for quite a while that I came up with this, and I'm still not sure if this is what you were trying to present.. I even think that the last part is sort of like the part with Legion, where you're in a digital world and you're being presented with things that feel familiar. But there's just a bit too many variables, and I think this left players confused. I don't know your future plans regarding DLC and the like, so, maybe those will fill in the blanks?
But, please, do NOT change the ending. This is one of the few endings in video games that does not end in cliche. If this media is ever going to move forward as a respectable form of art, you have to take a stand for what you did and not succumb to the inability of people to process something unusual. You can add to it all you want to make it more clear or whatever, but just don't make it a completely different cliche ending. If you can come with answers for some of the questions that players don't understand, that would be fine too and maybe they'd even grow to love it.. Games are not a democracy. Stand by what you created, but also try and give explanations where needed..
--------------------------------------------
Now that that's out of the way, I will give my opinion on the full game. I must say, the game is close to perfection. I loved the art style, loved the range of emotions, loved how you improved the citadel, the vistas, sacrifice of some characters, the soundtrack, and I can go on for quite a while.. Let's just say that if I don't mention something, it falls into the "well done" category, or I simply didn't notice or wasn't bothered by it..
So, what I didn't like was the journal. I noticed this right off the bat. Side-quests are put in the same list as your main quest. The main quests have the word "priority" in front of it, but if you do prioritize those, you're left with unfinished side-quests. It's good that I knew some would be locked out, so I tried doing them asap and then doing the priority quests. It's not necessarily bad, but calling it priority confuses people. Also, it was superior in ME2, where you would get clear explanations of what you were supposed to do, both for side and main quests. In ME3, you're supposed to either remember them or write them down, because some of them are not clear enough.
I also didn't like the disc swapping that much, particularly in the beginning, I had to swap discs like 6 times in a short while. I was glad it was no longer needed after a while, but in the beginning it was very annoying. This could easily be solved by either making the side-quests available a little later, or putting some timed ones on the first disk. I think this also kind of ties in with the journal somehow..
The scanning was improved, and it was actually enjoyable. I wish there was something a bit more striking than just a critical mission failure screen if the reapers get you. Even an image of the Normandy on fire or something would do it.
Ah the bugs.. Some where hilarious, some where annoying. I saw people merging with objects, heads doing weird movements in conversations, the camera showing walls instead of characters in conversations etc. After finishing some side-quests while being on the same floor you need to finish it, you need to take the elevator and then come back to activate it.. I bit more polish would've been nice. They don't break the game though, but they are things to keep in mind.
I have a few complaints regarding the gameplay in single player.. I played on insanity, so, I died here and there.. But what annoyed me is that after a respawn, the powers of (one of) your characters would sometimes need to recharge just after respawning, without using any powers (character powers are turned off). So you're basically starting out crippled. Sometimes they also were stuck. This was always in places where you had to drop off a ledge before going into battle.. I drop down, they just stand there by the ledge, and I have to face all the opponents by myself. Of course, I don't notice it until I'm already into battle and they are "grayed out" for some reason.
Of course this has already been mentioned, but, not being able to import an ME1 face was a shame. And btw, it would be nice to give some notice to players that when they import, the default mode is RPG mode. Sure, it makes sense, but, I've seen quite a few people asking what mode they are playing on, because after importing they didn't get the option to choose.
I feel like I'm forgetting something.. I will post again later if I come up with anything. But if I really had to give a score for the whole game, it would be somewhere between 90 to 95. Amazing game, not perfect, but superior to both ME2 and ME1. It is still noticeable that the game was under serious time constraints.
p.s. I thought you guys were gonna have an introductory comic like the PS3 version of ME2 for new ME3 players? What happened to it?

Pros:
+ Enjoyed the humor when it appears, even though this game is supposed to be dark
+ The MP part of the game was better than I original thought (tacked on, and half-done)
+ RPG elements are better than the previous game.
+ It's easier to tell what effect the upgrades for weapons, armor, and the character will do
+ MOST of the game's story was epic.
+ Plenty of weapons and choices for loadouts.
+ Alternate Appearances for my crew members actually HAVE a point now.
+ New game + keeps cash, weapons, armor, reputation and minor inventory items (MY FISH SURVIVED!!!!)
Cons:
- The ending point made no sense. Did you hire writers for just that last dialog between Shepard and the alien deity thing? It seems that they gave up on story there and decided a 'plot device' was the perfect thing.
- The MAJOR BUGS:
Losing all your stuff, even the things you paid real-world money for
I'm convinced that the importer killed members of my crew and changed some plot points (like Legion joining up) of my first ME3 playthrough. (Not worried about it messing up on the face. rather minor to me)
- No health gauge for my team. WTF? This is worse than those vague health bars of ME2.
- Still a 'Gears of War' clone with the annoying 'go-blind-and-deaf-as-you-die' opaque red on the screen. (Can't tell you how often I've been running INTO the thing that killed me, that I can't see, as opposed to running AWAY from it)
- The multiplayer unlocks not having a choice to purchase a specific item. Having the randomized pack doesn't bother me, and I'm not being forced to use my real world cash, but I would like the option to save up in-game credits to purchase that one specific gun/character I want.
- Scanning in Reaper controlled areas summons a half-dozen reapers after 2 or 3 scans, then you have to wait until after a mission to go back and try again? Why not have it drain slowly instead.
- Do the choices I make throughout the first and second game matter? If the rachni queen got killed, a new one took its place? Legion was there even though I didn't retrieve/activate them (see bugs complaint)
- Who uses .WAV files anymore? Cool that the soundtrack was available for download, but none of my programs or media players use that file type. I actually had to burn it to an audio CD, and then rip that back into mp3's just so my Zune could even read them.
And that's about my thoughts on the game. I might change it later if a vehicle section comes out.
(Please tell the devs that if we do use the Hammerhead again, the auto-targeting SUCKED. Please give it the Mako's minigun if they want to keep those lousy missiles, SO I CAN AT LEAST HIT WHAT I AIMED AT.)

Some background, not to suggest my opinion is of any more or less weight than anyone else, but just to help put it in context. I'm one of the Bioware Firsters or old school fans. I didn't play Shattered Steel, but I have bought basically every game Bioware has put out since Baldur's Gate. To me, their previous works defined what I most sought in my games, which I played exclusively on the PC. (I was a PC snob for a long time.) It was Mass Effect that brought me into the realm of 360 gamers. The game had not yet been released on the PC and was widely hailed as one of the top ten of all games released on the 360 at the time, and appeared to offer exactly the kind of RPG experience I enjoyed. I bought my 360 and ME, and have never regretted that decision to pay $400 to play a single game. I *love* Mass Effect. Coming into Mass Effect 3, I had 7 careers spanning both games that I could import.
So, where do I come out on ME3? (Played on a 360) In no particular order:
Likes/Pros
* Combat (definitely not a top priority for me, but I thought it was well done on the 360. I hated the demo on the PC, but it was more intuitive and functional with a 360 controller)
* Graphics (it's amazing to think this is the same platform I played the original ME on; yes, there are some sharp angles from polygon count, but the graphics as a whole are definitely well done)
* The characters (I felt some got more love than others, but on the whole these were well done and engrossing. Voice-acting was quite good, even the somewhat decried Freddie Prinze Jr.)
* Tying of side-quests into the main quest (I don't think this needs to be done for every game, but it was fun to see how the side-quests all kind of tied in; I never felt like I was really wasting my time)
* Most of the main quest (this really felt epic which -- note to Dragon Age writers -- is a good thing; some loose ends were tied up and, on a self-congratulatory note, it was nice to see my theory of the Protheans as quasi-Roman slaver-imperialists prove to be true)
* Including a m/m romance (this is such a minor detail I feel silly mentioning it, but I thought it was a really nice touch and I appreciated it.)
* The weapon and armor systems (nice way to beef up these systems; well done)
Dislikes/Cons
* Sound/Dialogue Editing (some really long pauses in conversations on one hand and, on the other but to a lesser extent, overlapping or cut-off dialogue; made production feel a bit rushed)
* Too much auto-dialogue, particularly in the beginning (this definitely did get better as the game went on, but the scope of the dialogue choices never really approached ME2, nevermind the original ME. Some very loooong dialogues with minimal influence by the player and what felt like a significantly reduced number of player interrupts, and this just felt weak by comparison to the previous titles.)
* Didn't feel like my choices really did matter. (I'm halfway through my second playthrough, and maybe I'll notice more of this as I finish it and start a 3rd or 4th, but in one import I saved the Rachnii queen and in the other I killed her; in both ME3 games, there's a rachnii-type queen that I can choose to save or kill... remind me how my choices matter, other than the gloss a writer puts on the exact same encounter? And the endings, which I actually appreciate on their own merits, also felt like a cop-out... none of the choices I made mattered when it came to the endings. Huge failure to deliver on one of the major promises of the ME franchise).
A few other notes.
* The Day One DLC. As a general rule, I actually don't have a problem with Day One DLC -- such as was done with ME2. You included it free with new purchases, but charged for folks who rented or bought used. Fine. And, here, I still made out fine because I bought the CE, so I still got it without having to pay "extra". But this just felt wrong. You want more details, read the articles on Forbes by Erik Kain and Paul Tassi.
* The Endings. I touched on this above, but it's worth a little more detail. On their own, I don't have a problem with the endings. Perhaps they're a bit too much deus ex machina, and they REALLY don't incorporate my past choices which, personally, stinks, but on their own... I don't have a problem with them. A final piece of the puzzle as to what the Reapers are is revealed to us and we're basically told the power of the Crucible is such that it cannot target/destroy just the Reapers, so we have to adjust our thinking accordingly. It tied in an issue thinking players have been grappling with since the first ME (the Geth) and a side-story in ME3 (EDI's evolution). So, in fact, I'll say I actually liked the endings if I view them in isolation from the previous two games. But because I played the first two games... I understand why people are angry.

Wow, I've just read through this thread, and in all my years of gaming I don't think I've ever seen a game ending so universally hated - points to Bioware for that much. If they take no notice I get the feeling they're going to lose the faith of a lot of fans.
A question though, we all want a better ending made available it would seem, but how exactly could they integrate that in to the game? Obviously it'd have to be DLC or some kind of patch, but how exactly could/would they get it to work? DLC comes up as mission in the Journal, seperate to other quest, for example.
Easily: Everything after Shepard gets hit by that beam from Harbinger is a hallucination. It explains why the pistol has unlimited ammo, it explains why there were no guards at all, it explains why the beam teleports you to exactly the right place on the Citadel, it explains how TIM and Anderson got there, it explains how Shep can breathe while talking to the Catalyst, and it explains how the devil Shepard could survive the Citadel falling to earth, (it never did, and when she takes a breath its just her waking up from Harbingers last-ditch attempt to indoctrinate her).

if you want your voice heard louder got to my blog which I have a link too in my Sig , click on my ME3 review and click on the links to my polls.
1. would you Boycott Bioware if they don't fix the endings
2. do you believe Multiplayer should have no impact on the single player campaign
3. Facebook Campaign demand better endings for ME3

The game is not hated. Almost all of us loved the first 99.9% of it.

Story : 10 /10 the best best epic story ever ! Emotional, I did laugh, felt bad, smiled, etc.
Side quests : 9/10 : I felt they were really a part of the main story, really important, kudo. However, There weren't enought for me. More would have been nice.
Characters : 10 /10 awesome stuff, with everyone. Anderson, James Vega, Samantha, Cortez, Hackett, TiM, female Krogan, squadmates, all are awesome.
Romance : 8/ 10 : There isn't equal content for each LI, and the scene in the shower with samantha with under wear made me cringe. Please, bioware do not make a cutscene in a shower if you don't want to show skin. Never again. Because that's just silly.
Gameplay : dynamic, awesome, epic, awesome weapons sounds. 10 /10
Graphics : 10 /10 better than in other mass effect, decent, realistic, I love.
Character creator : 6 /10 disappointing, the same as in the demo, import bug, and less option for eyes make up than in M1 et M2. Thar said, maleshep's hair are better.
customization : 10/10 awesome stuff. After M2 and DA2, I can say that this game is damn nearly perfect in this area. ( armor and weapon customization, even outifs, also power customization )
Ambiance, codex, lore, : 10 / 10
Party banters : 10 /10 : I was stunned. There are so many many lines, that I was shocked. Awesome stuff. Walter didn't kid about that. In M1 and M2 we didn't have something like that.
Cinematics : My god, just wow. I cannot say more, because I don't find the words. Just, 12 /10.
dialogue option, : 5/10 Before we had three options to express our feelings, now only two. Too bad. And we can't say to some people we don't like them, like Liara. One of my Pc, doesn't like Liara in my headcanon, and yet in the game, I am forced to be her friend.
Multiplayer : 9/10 . The issue is how we gain the races, thanks to luck. I don't find this system interesting in the multiplayer mode in the game.
Soundtrack : 10 /10 Oh god, the music is so beautiful.
The endings : 2/10 : I am not happy, the last three minutes in mass effect made me cringe. And ashley was with me. How the hell could she live with joker on the normandy ? That doesn't make sense. And please next time in your next game, always let us an option to remain alive and to find AT LEAST something that makes the pc a bit happy. Because, in M3, I don't see why Shepard alive would want to live anyways. HE JUST LOST EVERYTHING ! What the hell is this end ? I can't understand why you did that. That just killed your franchise. Who wants to think about mass effect with this kind of thing ? Who thought it was a good idea ?
Also, Not everyone think that endings with heroic death is interesting.
I think that' s it. Really good job.

You know, I just assumed that whatever crazy space magic beam took him up, also beamed him back down afterward.

I said the game ending, not the entire game. Like most everyone else I love 99.9% of it, but the ending just sucks and makes everything else before it pointless, as it is now anyway.

I actually like that idea... so basicly, they could just attach something on at the after the god-AI bit as Shepard comes out of that 'hallucination' and give the whole thing some meaningful ending worthy of Shepard, the games and everyones faith and loyalty. Niiice.

[Red/Orange explosion = destruction of reapers plus all synthetic entities (EDI and Geth included)
I myself have also wondered that it should be renegade but later I realized it to be paragon. Why? Because in all the other two options (control and synergy) you are actually falling into the reapers by sustaining them in one way or the other.
Well may be you are killing the geths in the process but the destroy option indicates the threat of REAPERS are eradicated once and for all... at least that's the reason I veiwed it as paragon... my opinion, though! And I may be wrong.
And regarding rubble ending - You have to wait till the end of the damn credits (u may also opt to exit) -- the stargazer man and kid talks in blue background - following which the Shepard scene is shown....
Do you remember your exact choices during the final confrontation by any chance? I'm pretty sure I've tried everything, but still can't get that rubble ending, lol... grrr
Here goes the sequence:
1. Shepard finds Anderson over a console
2. Anders turns back - entry of TIM
3. From this point onwards - I only selected - top-left blue paragon option (except for the last one - which was disabled (for both para and rene) - so I selected top-right option
4. TIM tries to point a gun to Anders - Red color Renegade interrupt - Shepard kills TIMMY bastard - emotional scene and conversation with PAPA Anderson (He was like a father... isn't it?)
5. Shepard opens the citadel arms - crucible docks - nothing happens - hackett calls Shepard - Shepard succumbs to unconsciousness before reaching the console
6. Catalyst-ghost appears - three choices
7. Shepard makes choices and walks to the right side - gunning his pistol - BANG - flame engulfs shepard - Orange explosion - mass relay destryed - normandy escapes - unknown planet and joker + crew(s)
8. Credits roll - <escape> - stargazer man and kid talk - Shepard rubble scene
9. And I am pissed off to see the bull-**** ending....
EMS - from my observation over three playthroughs - anything above 4000 will give this rubble ending scene (if shepard choses to destroy instead of merge or control)
Hope this helps...

Yeah the only difference between what you've done and what I've tried is that my EMS is under 4000. How did you get yours to over 4000? Did you do single player only, or have you done some multiplayer as well?
I just don't see a way to get my EMS to over 4000 is single player, unless I've missed something along the way.

This is my original response from my very first, and so far only, playthru.
Whoa. Oh, wait...my score: 98/100. It would have been 100, but a couple of glitches in the very beginning. Nothing major. And I would have liked to see the Rachni do... Something. Or, did I miss it? Idk.
Also, I should have been able to effortlessly import my Shep face from ME1>ME2>ME3. Tsk, tsk, BW. That was a no brainer.
This game was Beautiful. I loved it. Everything in it was a work of art. Some things in it really seemed like a tip of the hat to the Sci-Fi genre itself. Even the loading screens with the Normandy, or the shuttle coasting along reminded me very strongly of some Flash Gordan type of scenario.
When Shepard was getting out of the Geth mind machine. Lifting the lid, and half her face was ME cgi, and half was this cartoon image of her....it was beautiful.
And FemShep moved wonderfully. Subtle, but beautiful differences. In fact, Shep.'s face was alive. Really alive for the first time.
I didn't expect anything profound from this game. I was just hoping for a solid, satisfying game. But somehow this game felt like a profound experience. Idk how it happened, but it turned out to be a rather profound experience.
I got the ending I wanted....the second reload..lol. The first time I was there, I went to go investigate the "shiny", and tripped over a cut scene. I got dragged by the short hairs into the "Synthesizing" resolution. Which I Did Not Want. I'm still scarred from that. Watching Shep. disintegrate like that.
Reload. Destroyed the Reapers; Earth is saved..yay, cheering soldiers in the field. And Shep has the Last Breath scene...Boom! cue energetic music. I'll take it. Especially after seeing the merge scenario.
I would say I'd like a lil epilogue, even codex entry to cleanly wrap up what happened w/ other races. Yet, I'm not sure if any of that was even real. Did Shep. really make it? Or did she die and that whole last part was a mind trip....idk. But I will believe the ending I got.
The vistas were great and meandering.
You guys did a great job. The game has a haunting quality about it. It's a powerhouse of a game.
The endings leave much to wonder about. I'm not really sure what happened. Not in a negative way, rather......interpretive....I can't explain it.
Either way, I Felt this game. Man, the pressure; the overwhelming situation;. And was actually scared to go into the last push of the game. I was. I was so scared.
The battles were awesome fun. Hard!, but fun. And sooooo scary. The music creeped me out

I think the rubble shepard scene was after normandy + crew at that landscape ends.. and right before the credits start.. so between your 7-8. Rest is 100% accurate
