 My score - 20/100

What I liked about it was everything up until the last 5 minutes. The gameplay was great, the story was fantastic, even the involvement was more than I'd had in the other two ME games.

What I didn't like:

- A few of the cut scenes were glitchy, with characters not appearing, yet talking, and so on.

- The cover system seemed a bit odd this time around, but it wasn't anything I couldn't overcome

Those are the only two main complaints I have before you hit the final 5 minutes of the game. And those could be fixed with a patch, and we're up to a 95-100/100.

But then comes the ending. I don't really need to say much more, other than:

1) There's no variation, other than the color of the beam
2) There's nothing close to a "perfect" ending or "happy" ending (who cares if it's cliche; if you want to get into art, don't make blockbuster games with a demanding fanbase)
3) The endings are rushed and confusing. Most importantly, however, they're unfulfilling and lack closure.

At the end of the day, you're a business who's job is to make a profit. The best way to do that, however, is to provide a strong story with an ending. Without an ending in an epic trilogy like this, there's no way you deserve a higher rating than "20."

Hello all, I am new to this forum. I am still in the middle of the game, so I don't want to talk about the ending... (But seriously YOU hurt me.. and I hope those are the bad ending and there is one which is a good happy ending.) Just want to say a few word about this game.

First, I am lost.. in the game where I have no idea where to go. I understand this is a whole new gaming experience... and this is my first round. But I really like the old ME2 or SWTOR where you can see where you are and what you can choose to go.

Second, What I like ME2 (and made me feel EA is so good so that I bought SWTOR) is the answering questions. In ME3... feel like you can only answer good or bad. (No choice? Or Too rush to be out on Mar 6, I felt that if this game would delay 3 more months to change the overall setting... The game would be so much better.)

Third ... I am shocked about same sex marriage... Your husband? ... (I am not trying to be mean, if I am the bad shepard I would ask him to get a woman...again no other choice to choose) I felt you guy went to far.

And the Romance... I like the ME2 where you can "invite" some girl to go to your place for hug hug and kiss kiss.. (and that's not enough) then change the other girl and do the same... ME3 ... a kiss and turn off the light........ WTF! I want my playboy shepard!

The story board was OK and don't make sense.. , again compare to ME2 - a simple goal to invite few member. do their loyal mission and fight the big boss. ME3.. too much to worry.. I am not playing the game, the game is playing on me.

Overall, ME2 will made you play 5 or 6 times to see the outcome. Or at least a good guy with good/bad ending and a bad guy with good/bad ending. ME3.. I haven't finish yet and I already felt ... nothing. No point, No direction.. lack on everything and mean to be something.

I don't think the Bioware would take it serious, I will give 4/10 ... because you guys did a great job.

PS: I bought the collector's edition, and I felt something was missing. ... something Mr. Anderson gave the Shepard while they were at the Normandy on the first chapter... A DOG TAG would be nice. Something like Starcraft II where you have a dog tag will make you feel different.

Before ending 95/100
After ending 0/100

No replay value whatsoever since I played these games for the actual story.

I would have been willing to wait longer and pay extra for a garanteed gem. Right now i feel like i wasted both money and time.

Fix it.

Agreed - I don't even want to do Multiplayer now because really... what's the point?

Okay I tend to write a lot, so sorry about that, but it is the end of a big story. Also, there WIL be SPOILERS in this so just beware.

The Good -

-The overall control is reminiscent of the previous game but a lot more fluid. Still not without its occasional awkwardness, I feel your character goes to cover way too easily, but overall its great. I like the expanded melee options, though I wish it were expanded even more so.

-The overall weight of much of the game is fittingly heavy and extremely good. I have to give particular praise to Meer/Hale for really delivering some depthful voice acting during the more distressful or heavier parts of the game. Especially Meer, whose had a bit of a problem with sounding overly monotone compared to Hale before but in this game he really stepped it up a bit. The heaviness of so many of the situations, especially the whole Tuchanka story arc, was really well done. The feeling of grimness in this galaxy was just really well done, I haven't felt so bad for npcs I've met (Emily Wong, the poetic Krogan Char...) like this in a while.

-The music's back to epic (The literal term) standards. It's just grandiose overall.

-Many of the interactive scenes visually are just superb. Mentioning Tuchanka again here, that whole thing was just intense, but the final battle on earth was fittingly out of control too. The cinematic for the whole fleet coming in to fight the reapers was amazing, especially if you got everyone like I did.

-It probably won't have too much longevity but for what it is I think the multiplayer is really fun. My friends and I have been playing it and have been having a great time. Do still wish there was a Krogan vanguard though. lol

The bad

-I don't completely get the point of attracting reaper attention on the galaxy map. I understand the point of making the universe feel more dangerous and I agree with that idea, but the way it here If eel like the reaper presence is more of an inconvenience than an obstacle to figure out how to dodge.

-I know some see this as a minor complaint, but I really, really wish at least one ME2 specific squadmate were a team member in this game. Some of them like Thane or Mordin have very valid reasons to not be recruitable of course, but others like Grunt (Especially Grunt!), Legion, and later Miranda seem like they could have easily made it. In particular, there was really no reason for Grunt to not join you when you find him. I dunno, for me after two games it just feels like without a Krogan...there's just something missing. But overall, I feel even one single ME2 representative would have helped to bridge the games better. I agree with the smaller squad, but one ME2 character wouldn't have hurt I think.

-Some of the facial expressions on some characters, especially Shepard, are better. But others feel like they took a step down overall. Its a bit awkward sometimes.

-I don't completely see the point of making the heavy weapons a temporary item. I mean, to perhaps make the game more difficult, but on more intense difficulties I never felt like the heavy weapons really tipped the scales all THAT much.

-I feel the lack of a final boss sort of added to the feeling of being anti climactic.

The Ending

-Putting this separately, cause I'm so...on the fence about it. I'm a big fan of ambiguous, open ended conclusions...so I'm not so hung up about that. Maybe a -little- more elaboration into the effects of your decisions upon the survivors that was variable, like an epilogue, would have worked but that's not really the issue.

I think having the three decisions, with some minor changes as well as the color of the beam be essentially the same thing is a little unfair. Shepard dying or ceasing to exist as he used to is sad, but it could be thematically fittinng...but to have all three endings be essentially the same kind of leads one to wonder what the point of choosing is beyond the implications within your own imagination. I understand it takes time to make these things happen, and previous games had similar endings too but this was the culmination of all three games that have come and I think it was extremely important. The fact the Normandy is suddenly stranded just adds to that, as it can be sort of rationalized in some endings but in others it just stands out as making no sense as its currently presented.

To paraphrase, despite a number of gripes I love the game overall and I feel the team outdid themselves in terms of upping the emotional content of the game, and the controls are good. I do still feel the lack of an ME2 character, at least one, was a shame, but overall the experience to get to the end was great. While I won't go melodramatic about it though, and some are being melodramatic for sure...I can understand why there's so much hassle over the ending. It's not about being upset by the emotional content of it such as the implications of the relays' state or Shepards' fate, but just by the feeling of inflexibility between whats supposed to be a three way choice. There's longstanding implications you can come to with your imagination, I can think of many, but at the end of the day it's conjecture. The endings themselves are essentially, three different colors of the same thing.

So great job overall, I still love this universe, but the endings could definitely have been handled differently and I don't think its necessarily a minor complaint.

Just my overbloated two cents. Thanks for all.

My Mass Effect 3 score: 90 / 100

I loved the game. Everything about it was amazing. The interactions with the crew (past and present), the dream sequences, the music, fighting to form alliances, new weapons, the combat. Everything blew me away. My favorite part was when Liara had her time capsule and I got her to record the stuff about Shep.

Unfortunately, that only lasts up until you are in the Crucible. Once in the Crucible, everything goes to hell, and you lose all 10 points in that one short section. The ending that answered all our questions that was promised is not there. The "choices" are an illusion, with everything essentially ending up the same way with extremely minor differences given the circumstances.

The Catalyst was a MASSIVE wasted opportunity to answer the questions we had. All it would have taken is more dialogue. There was additionally no explanation of what happens to galactic civilization after the "choice" is made. What happens to the Shep who survives? No one knows. What happens to the crew of the Normandy?

It feels like the end was just tacked on without any thought at all.

That said, I will continue to play it. I'm invested in the universe, and despite the terrible endings that open more questions without answering ANY, the rest of the game is good enough that I want to play it. I will not however be investing my self in any other series when this is the type of treatment I can expect for an ending. You guys were the only game company I still bought games from. I'd even wanted to work at Bioware as a programmer someday since I was a kid. Both of those things have changed.

The endings of ME3 tempt me to uninstall all my bioware games (alot) and discontinue my Star Wars ToR sub....I really hope they fix this.

I don't even want to put a score on it, just talk about my experience throughout the game.

I experienced such a fun rush and joy playing the game. I found myself grinning at times, the way I used to grin when I first started playing PC games back in the day, like MechWarrior 2 and X-Wing (I date myself). Very few games over the years have been able to tap into that sense of joy just from simply playing for me the way this game did. Even the character deaths were poignant and appropriate. They upset me, but gave me closure. I couldn't put the game down. Just one more mission... one more setpiece in this amazing backdrop of galactic war. As I progressed along and saw the end barreling down on me, I kept thinking how I couldn't wait to play it all over again. Relive it again.

Then the ending (or endings if you want to call it that).

Maybe some background. I played the first and second games through multiple times, yet every playthrough I found myself always playing the paragon. That's how I always tend to play my video game characters, but it just felt that much more rewarding in the ME universe. There was this sense of purpose that drove along my decisions... that maybe if I did all things right, I could save the universe.

The ending robbed that from me. It wasn't even bittersweet for me, it was just bitter. I know, I know, the universe "was" saved. But not the universe as I wanted to save it. The ME trilogy for me (and many others) is about characters and their stories and the stories of their people. And that was all taken away at the end.

It's upsets me that the ending upset me so much. Because I loved the game, I loved the trilogy. I spent hours upon hours in those games exploring and conversing and learning. But now, after the end, I have no desire to pick up the game again. I don't want to do any more playthroughs, because they all lead to this feeling of disappointment and lack of closure. I don't even have the desire to explore multiplayer (which I was planning on doing up until the end). I don't want to say the ending ruined the game and the whole trilogy for me... but it kind of did.

I'm just so pissed off, five years for nothing, are you kidding me Bioware ?? I always cared about my decisions in ME1 and ME2, and now it doesn´t matter, whatever i did it doesn´t matter. So we just did it for nothing ?? That´s all BW ?? What i see is an amazing game, an amazing trilogy, completely ruined by the endings.. WTF BW ?? That´s  gonna be your future direction ?? to f**k up with customers with the ones who loved the game, story, entire universe ?? So what are you going to say BW hm ?? Do you remember what RPG means ?? We wanted to make our own story, and we did in ME1 and ME2, but this, I can´t even describe my dissapointment. I made some decisions in ME3 but it feels like it doesn´t matter at all. Whatever I´ll do, I´ll always get almost the same ending. I don´t know if I wanna play it again. Ask yourself BW, why we played ME1 and ME2 again and again. But it´s not gonna be the case of ME3.... BW, you just pissed off almost entire fan base...
Are you happy BW ??
The game 9,5/10, but because of the endings and no conclusion at all, all it´s left are questions... Why ?? What ?? When ?? How?? WTF ?? Dead ?? Alive??
I´m giving ME3 4/10....

Mass Effect 3 would have been the brightest jewel on Bioware's crown, but all that was washed away in the final minute of the series. Everything up to the appearance of the magical space child was, if perhaps not perfect, superb - the entire game was a masterfully delivered narrative, and it has convinced me that few, if any, are capable of such a feat. More's the pity that a game whose apparent plot and development had been charted for its players from day one must introduce swiftly and without proper explanation, galaxy shaking revelations and a debate whose unsatisfactory conclusion led to a cycle of extinction propagating itself for millions of years - this is handled in the final minutes of the narrative. Needless to say, the theme is neither properly introduced nor properly developed. It leaves us scratching our heads at the resolution, which manifests at almost the same time as the problem. This is bad narrative, plain and simple, and given the success of Mass Effect in every other area, it baffles me that the developers would have made such an obviously bad choice.

I imagine many people are complaining about the ending because they believe it is too dark, or because it punishes the player's emotional attachments too much, or because it does not provide proper closure, lacking any true epilogue.

My problem with the ending is the faulty logic, the bad narrative choices, things which stand out as technical issues, and not complaints from a player who has been denied the chance to see everything play out as he had hoped it would.

Finally, being sent back to the Normandy as though nothing had happened with no more than a "Congratulations, Shepard is a legend now." felt, to me at least, as a sort of slap in the face. I did just watch my guy disperse into a beam of unknown energy after all.

Honestly I still love the games even though I didn't care much for the ending in this one. I mean yeah sure i'd like more of a choice in how things end, other than me dying and the whole galaxy getting screwed. But I mean if my character has to die so be it. But at least give me more than the normandy crashing on some random unknown planet an people stepping out. I'd like to know what happens to them. Did I knock Ashley up the last time we were together? Does the galaxy eventually recover from loosing the mass relays? What about the people on earth? Why in the world did joker jump the normandy out of the system? Did he forget his sun glasses some where? etc etc......

Don't get me wrong im not angry at BW I just wish they would have expanded on somethings. But this is my personal opinion

Copy and pasted from another thread because im to lazy to retype stuff.

Over all rating 9/10.................. until the end. then its more like 4/10

My Mass Effect 3 score: 80/100.

Well I'm pleased to say that I found most of the game fantastic.
The combat was fun, the voice acting, sound, characters, all that stuff was great.
But it'll be a lot easier if I just list the stuff I didn't like. For one, I kinda wished the game had a normandy-squadmate conversation system more like mass effect 2, where you could always assume that after a mission, you could go to a companion and expect the to have stuff to say. That said, the system in ME3 is still good. I'm just unsure which system I liked more.
Also didn't like the mission log/journal. Too messy and needed to be sorted. Needed to have a different pause menu selection for codex and journal, rather than merging them.

But my main problem witht he game is predictably the endings. For me, it just totally fell apart at the end. In fact, I'll be honest here and say that I never actually completed the ending in my own game. I had the final conversations with my teammates and just wanted to find out if who you took out in your squad were going to die or not. After searching around for an answer, I bit the bullet and looked at an ending thread and my heart just sank. I can't even bring myself to choose my squad and complete the game. Now I know you guys want to create a memorable ending while ensuring that this is shepard's last appearance. But after having the final talk with Garrus, and hearing Shep say that this was going to be the last time that he would save the galaxy, I just assumed that there would be a 'happy ending' for shep. After three games of creating characters, backstories, and lore, and building relationships between characters it was fair to say that I am more attached to the mass effect series than I have been to any other game series ever. But from what I have heard, these endings only give a few hints to what happens to the galaxy, races and most importantly, your companions.
I mean this is an rpg afterall, bioware .I know you guys saw this as a suitable ending to your series, but I think we at least deserve one happy ending. As far as I can tell, the people who like the endings as they are are far, far outnumbered by the people who think it needs fixing.
I can't believe it has come to this, but I will actually pay money in order to have a dlc including a happy ending for shep and his (surviving) companions. I know you guys saw this as a suitable ending to your series.

But right now, I don't want to complete the games with the endings currently offered. I guess I will have to make up my own ending to how Shepard's story ends until this is sorted out or I forget about this.
That is basically my main gripe, and it's a big one.

As I said, I thought the rest of the game was absolutely fantastic. Would have definitely been my Game of the Year had it not fallen apart at the end.

I'll break this down into areas.

Story

The game's storyline is pretty fantastic, until the end.  The fact that I felt like we were fighting a losing battle but persevering through hope was an achievement unto itself.  There really was little that I had issues with, whatsoever, until the end.

On the subject of the end, well, why?  I understand leaving the ending a bit open for the races of the ME Universe, but even before it I had some reservations.  The entire game kept lacing in stories from ME1 and ME2 to show what happened to characters from those games, yet at the end of this game... we don't take the Conduit from Ilos back to the Citadel and completely bypass the battle of attrition through London.  It seemed like an oversight that the Conduit was forgotten from ME1.  Further, we should have been taking down Harbinger at the Beam instead of Random_Reaper_Destroyer_01.  It would have felt more... triumphant?

Overall though, the storyline was fantastic... until the end.  The endings just felt too rushed, too short for a trilogy.  A letdown there.  The botched endings easily brought down the feel of the game.

Gameplay

Gorgeous.  Fluid, seamless, and a beautiful blend of ME1 and ME2.  The game was responsive and the FPS elements were on-the-money.  The gameplay loses a point due to some questionable AI at times.  I felt that, throughout the game, squadmates spent a little too much time in cover and not enough time shooting.  They also seemed to have pathing/navigation issues, especially with ladders and climbable cover.

Sound

The music and sound effects were beautiful.  Tying in iconic music from ME1 into new variations was absolutely well done.  The emotional music (Thane =/)  really cut through my icy callous heart and evoked tears for such invested characters.  The battle sounds and everything were spot-on, and at no point in this game did I have issues with the sound.

Technical

I played this on Xbox 360.  The only issues that spring to mind were two freezes entering the Spectre Shooting Range... and.. Disc One Disc Two Disc One Disc Two.  The endless swapping of discs through the first ~10 hours of the game was more than a little annoying.  In addition, whenever you did a disc-swap the disc would never stop spinning on the platter (even if installed to the 360) until restart.  Annoying, but nothing detrimental.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is excellent co-op fun.  The unlocking system is mildly annoying at times (Where's my Asari Adept?!), but the fact that the actual gameplay is extremely fun and sometimes brutally challenging (Reapers on Gold) keep me involved.  Please, Bioware, release regular updates for co-op - new maps, new characters, whatever.  Keep multiplayer rolling.

Conclusion

The game was just a blast.  Despite some annoying technical issues that resolved themselves, I thoroughly enjoyed the game from beginning to just before end.  The game was simply beautiful - no texture pop, smooth transitions, and minimal load times.  I was sad to see Shepard go, but it was fitting as ME3 was a story of sacrifice.

The endings were just a touch below let-down status though - redo these, somehow.  Leave them in their current forms and give us some epilogue.  My brain is melting thinking about all those military units trapped in Sol without a relay to get them out.

Overall?  90 out of 100.  A solid A, but not a perfect game.

It exceeded my expectations in every way for about 9/10 of the game. The story was great, the multiplayer was amazing and it was THE most emotionally engaging game I've ever played. That last point is precisely why I loathe the endings. No closure and not enough variation brings this game from a 98/100 to about an 80.

In conclusion the endings brought it from my favorite game in history to an amazing but critically flawed game.

First I wanted to give this game a 10/10. The reason why. I have been playing the series since its conception. I could not put it down. I dont know how many sleepless night I played ME1 to contribute to my 20 full playthroughs. Come a couple years later. ME2 I pre-ordered and could not wait. I played that game to death. I mean Death, probably 30+ playthroughs to see all possible outcomes.

I remember the ME3 announcement and could not wait. I hung to the forums to all scraps of information. As soon as the CE details were given I pre-ordered right away. I counted down the days and went to midnight release. I stayed up playing the game and was lost in the epicness I haven't experienced since ME1. I loved ME2, but it was missing that one thing. I found it back in ME3. The rich story, character interaction, equipment. I felt the perfect combination of ME1 & 2 were achieved.

Then the endings came.

3/10. I can see what you were going for, but It did not work. I cant even explain the confusion, distain, and sadness I felt after this. Please fix this. I don't care if Shepard lives (I would like him to live a happy life), but please don't end it this way.

This game series could be one of the greatest ever, but sadly I feel it will go into the pile of great let downs.

Having 50+ playthroughs in the other games will not help me give this any more playthroughs except for one for another LI, but after the romance it's save and put away till something can be done for this series.

I love the Mass Effect franchise and here is my thoughts on Mass Effect 3 in order of things I cared about, highest to lowest.

1. Story:

First of all the "Dream/Nightmare" part is very meh, is there really no better way to show Shepard's inner emotional stage other than keep showing that random boy over and over and over again? It gets very old and very fast after first meeting with the boy. A burning Earth and people dying and fighting hopelessly might have more emotional impact on my Shepard.

Second, NPC and PC interaction in ME3 is currently the best and most excellently well done in all BioWare games I have played, as the story progress the lost of my Shepard's crew had real affect on myself, I am so upset I lost my appetite, hats off to whoever make this possible.

Third, the Ending. At the final choice I have a mental image with a huge BioWare troll face saying "Problem?" to me while I facepalmed and just randomly choose one. I am sure a lot of others have voice their opinion on this matter and some of them might even have state the same thing as I will but I am just going to say it again anyway...

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

This article explain my thoughts and feeling perfectly.

2. Combat

Combat has greatly improve from Mass Effect 1, similar to Mass Effect 2 with minor improvement, the sound, impact and enemy/character reaction, its more responsive and realistic. IMO definitely on par with other FPS title.

However the shear amount of spacebar function can be very annoying in the heat of battle, combine interaction/use/cover/sprint all into one is not a good idea. I can't count the amount of time my Shepard die because of it, want to get in cover but sprint or vice versa.

3. Bugs

While I do run into some minor bugs, minor lag, animation glitch and some other graphic or voice over issue, all of them are minor and I have not run into any freeze or crash issue with PC version.

But please fix Liara romance flag in her conversation with her father soon.

Over all score 8.5/10. Because of the Ending, else it will be 9/10.

Reading the reviews of everyone who has finished the game so far put me in the mood to write my own review.  I have a low post count but I am a true fan of the series and have played these games over and over again.  So before I write this review I have one thing to say...

Thank you, Bioware.  Your teams put their hearts and souls into this series and it shows.  This series, for me, will forever be the benchmark standard for future video games.

I think people sometimes get caught up in the moment and forget that this venture wasn't even possible without your team's ideas and successes.  You all deserve nothing but accolades and as I noticed at the end of the credits, I hope your families were patient and forgiving with the time it took you to make this game.  On to the review...

Story:
I will cover endings in a different section, but the story from start to finish had me emotionally invested.  Every cutscene that arose I put the controller down, listened, and watched for the next key to the plotline.  I was gripped by the idea that even though every game before this one seemed like a final outing into the unknown, you were still able to keep me on the edge of my seat as to what could come next.  The way you all portrayed that one man, despite the greatest odds, could overcome every obstacle and fufill his destiny perfected and immortalized this game.  The story and universe you created is a perfect 10 out of 10.

Gameplay:
Shepard felt far more agile in this game than in previous iterations.  I didn't truly understand how impressive Shepard's movements were until I played the multiplayer.  The dodging and rolling saved my life on numerous occasions versus overwhelming odds.  The enemies were fast and intelligent and kept me on my toes.  Especially that damn Brute.  He had me rolling and dodging and I definitely earned my "Eye of the Hurricane" achievement.  I played as an adept and I enjoyed being able to rock an assault rifle straight out of the gate, I mean, I feel like I earned it in the previous two games.  There seemed to be a perfomance issue with the armor locker customization.  Maybe my Xbox HDD cache was full, but loading of those armors took quite awhile depending on the combination.  I learned turning off the helmet and setting all armor to N7 before proceeding caused the stock armor to load and I could change it from there.  The enemies were rutheless, the throw/singularity detonation rocked my world, and my only complaint for movement was I just slid foward over cover and now I'm getting man-handled.  Not having to turn around to retreat from a torrential downpour of death would have been appreciated.  Maybe holding back and a quick double-tap on the "A" button would have slid back over cover?  Just a thought.  Over all, 9 out of 10.

Sound:
Sound was excellent and really set the mood.  The track with the single piano mixed with reaper sounds was by far my favorite track in the game.  It really conveyed how devasting the moments were when it started playing.  I enjoyed it so much I'm going to learn how to play it.  As far as game sounds go, bullets whizzing past, the sound of the reaper laser tearing through earth's streets and destroying everything in it's path, the most subtle sounds heard while walking around the Normandy, and the voices overall made this game what it was.  Even knowing who the voice actors were did not take away from the experience.  I didn't see them when the characters were talking, I saw the characters you all created.  This is a monumental achievement and I hope that this type of sound and casting is taken as seriously as you all took it in the future.  I ran into only one issue and playing through my turtle beach headset on the final earth mission there was a significant distortion and dropping of sounds.  This may have just been the headset though and I may just need to adjust sound settings.  Sound 10 out of 10.

Graphics:
Graphics were impressive.  The details you all put in this game were nothing short of breathtaking.  There was a warning sign next to a ladder I was climbing on the one of the N7 missions that talked about flammability.  Did it need to be there?  No, it had no pertinence to the mission.  It was a detail that your team put in to make the environment completely immersive instead of just having cookie cutter walls that just led me to my next destination.  The faces in the squad menu looked outstanding.  Better than any other iteration of the game and almost real when using default Shepard's face.  I cannot speak for an imported face since I didn't use it.  I also noticed that crying and drinking from a glass got a small upgrade from where the tears looks like frozen glass in ME2 to where they actually have movement.  Drinking was a slightly smoother animation that wasn't just liquid appearing in a glass after the bartender twists his wrists.  The armor (despite the long load time) was an excellent customization and looked oustanding.  It also showed me that Shepard wears his casual clothing under his armor thanks to fairly inaccurate reaper blast.  It's small details like this that set the immersion standard and should be noticed by all gamers.  There were glitches of course (look at the scale of the game!) like getting stuck standing next to Joker's chair, but it eventually released me and didn't pull me out of the story.  Do not even get me started on the environments.  Devastated Earth versus start of the game Earth felt nothing short of epic.  I was with Shepard when he said he barely recognized it.  Also, hats off to the designers of the Tuchanka ruins.  It showed the opposite evolution from the second game where Tuchanka was nothing but a wasteland used for combat.  This Tuchanka has hope.  The graphics get a 10 out of 10.

Endings:
You warned us in Mass Effect 2 that Shepard dies and can die at the end of the game.  You warned us in Mass Effect 3 that this would be the end of Shepard's story.  The endings in these games WERE a culmination of all your decision and moments leading up to this one.  At the end of Mass Effect you walk away saying you have to stop the reapers.  Stopping the Reapers was Shepard's destiny.  It wasn't to blow up the reapers and then take his team out on missions until the end of his natural life, he said it himself to Grunt in Mass Effect 2 that he doesn't want to do this forever if you chose paragon.  The achievement on Xbox is called "Mission Accomplished" when you choose a path because your mission was to stop the Reapers.  You did it, that was it, Commander Shepard succeeded in saving the Earth, life, and the galaxy.  Were there questions?  Of course there were.  But I'm betting that unanswered questions is the start of a later installment should they wish to go that route.  I did wish that the movies were more varied to the choices made at the end of it, but I got what I wanted from this game which was closure.  Until I saw the shine of the N7 dog tags and the burnt armor rise as Shepard draws his breath from the rubble of the Citadel.  There is no stopping that man.  Endings get a 9 out of 10 for lack of variation but not because they did not accomplish what they set out to do, which was end the story of Commander Shepard.

My overall rating for this game despite the few gripes is a 10.  I will play this game again, on insanity, importing a ME3 character so I can see what I missed just in case there is a secret ending or something for beating it the hard way.  I want all the achievements and I was the game to go on and on and on.  I am sad to see the series end but I am blown away by what has been achieved in this series.  Thank you again for your hard work and the immersive story that could have only been created by the folks at Bioware.

I have loved the ME franchise, and for me the ending was absolutely terrible!!! I truly feel cheated. The rest of the game was awesome, the combat was great, interactions were great, I felt I did not have the control in the dialogue that I had with the other two games, but I could get over that, but the ending. I felt like I wasted my time, and for three games just so my Shepard who has defeated everyone he went against died??? And the relays everything gone...You know I stood by in Dragon age 2 when every single room looked the same (exagerated but you know what I am talking about) but to end the Mass Effect series like that is terrible. I have gone on Youtube and seen the other two endings (three posted so far) and all of them make me sick. If anyone ever deserved to live hapily ever after it would have been shepard. I am going back to playing Skyrim, and OLD Republic....I am so pissed.

Rating : before ending : 95/100. After ending : 60/100 (for replayability)

Pros :

- Character interaction and development : BioWare, you delivered that in spades, both for Shepard and all the main characters. Thank you, this is why I love your games.
- Story: here again, you delivered. I enjoyed every minute (except the last). It was rich, complex, heart wrenching and emotionally engaging.
- Art Design: the effort you put into art design is obvious: each location we visit is distinct and beautifully rendered in so many details. I had quite a few moments where I stopped what I was doing just to admire my surroundings.
- Combat: much more challenging thanks to vastly improved enemy AI and different enemy behavior. Kept me on my toes.
- Voice acting: flawless, as far as I'm concerned.

Cons:

- Quest log : quests need to be updated in the journal. I ended up playing with pen and paper to remember what I found where, who might need it and where they are.
- Galaxy map update: several systems don’t have a 100% complete pop up despite there being nothing left to do there, so I ended up returning to them over and over again after each plot point to see if something popped up.
- Weapons description/compare when buying: I had no idea how what I was buying compared to what I already had, so ended up buying blind and updating the same weapon rather than wasting cash on potentially worse weapons.

And finally, the endings… Let me put it this way : I probably played ME1/ME2 over 10 times each and bought every DLC. But I can’t see myself doing that with ME3.

I wasn’t spoiled, but I knew the endings were likely to be a downer. But I never imagined to what extent! To clarify, I never wanted marriage and babies, but I wished for an ending where Shepard lives and is reunited with their LI and surviving crew – wherever that may be and even in dire circumstances. I had the “best” ME3 ending and it was so disheartening because I felt no hope nor the tiniest glimmer of satisfaction. Instead I was left feeling disappointed and sad that an otherwise brilliant game experience was ruined in the last cutscene (not to mention confused, as I still don’t understand how my LI ends up on the Normandy when I last saw them running towards the Citadel beam as all hell breaks loose).

Needless to say, the thought of DLC doesn’t particularly tempt me, as I understand it will be set before the endings and thus will be overshadowed by them. Real shame.

I add my voice to those crying out for a new ending DLC.

Since none of the polls I found asked the satisfying questions and were sort of "misguiding" I created my own poll thread included.

Before the Endings 99/100(Just amazing)

After the Endings

50/100.

Honestly it truly does feel like after over 40(ME1) 60(ME2) 90(Collections Addition) And all the other money I've spent on this has been a complete waste. Like you've given me the greatest video game experience and then finally at the end of it just flipped me off with a wide grin.

Why can't we just have "saved the galaxy" and life goes on?  Like the lesson is learned? No matter what relay's are destroyed?  I just don't know. Maybe in a few weeks when rumors of a secret ending is confirmed or denied(With a NG+ playthrough) I can have different thoughts on this.

Just the endings were horrible, and I feel incredibly let down with a series I have fell in love with.  Even more then the prequels of Star Wars.

Rating : Just like a lot of fans I can rate this game either 100/100 or...something like -1/100 because that ending ruins the entire series.

Good:
-This game is just epic. It shakes your soul since the very start and doesn't disappoint you. (Untill you reach the ending)
-I like this plot. (I hate those endings)
-I like that music. Every single track(okay even the ending one). I am not mentioning voices to be awesome - they always are.
-Mordin's sacrifice. It was beautiful. The most touching moment I have ever seen in both games and cinema. It's the same way awesome as the ending is horrible. The entire game is awesome but this moment is something unbelievable. Instant +100 for just this moment. Still makes me cry.

Bad:
-Ending. It ruined everything. All choices, all dialogues of 3 games, all romancing, all genocide and salvation we cause, all personalities THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE of Mass Effect is ruined. I do not feel upset about difficult choice or bad ending. I feel confused - what the hell was that? Why?
You could end it in the middle-fight and it would cause much less resonance. It would be better without ending at all.
It's just the most horrible thing I have ever seen. -101. Still makes me look at the wall and think "How could we end up like this? -_-".

wall of text incomming:

You know what the destination matters just as much as the journey for me and when the destination stinks what was the point its a game not RL I play games and read books to enjoy myself and get a break from RL for a while therefore the endings matter just as much as the time to get there for me anyway. I loved your past games some not as much as others but in the last 3 games you have reliesed that I have bought, 1 is in the never to be played again pile(DA2) and this one will probly go there as well that or ill have to play right up to the earth convos then turn the game off just so i can stomic another play threw. its sad really because I relly loved the mass effect series as well as the dragon age universe.

ok for ME2 I managed to supend belief that yes miri and simara can run around in high heals in battle
shep dyeing and being brought back to life.

Asari aperantly have kevlon coted boobs since they can be hanging in the wind and not get shot off.

So if i can supend beliefe that yes these things are posable why cant we get something other than 3 versions of the same bad endings no mater what you do what choices your make or how high your readyness score is the endings are all bad. no i wont be buying DLC for this game even if you put out a better ending in DLC i cant see paying anymore for this game than i already have.

CONS unfortunaly its a long list here.

Just a reskin of miris outfit - the cerberus logo.

Scripted deaths I get people complained that it was to easy to get everyone threw the suside mission and i can see making us work for it but the scripted deaths are as anoying as some characters having plot armor while others dont.

Forsed squad mate i can see why Tali had to go to ranoch/ geth dreadnoght i see why liara had to be on thesia and on the start of turan moon mission, and edi on the cerberus mission but being forsed to take liara to edan prime when im a adapt i dont need another adapt along would have prefered to chose my own squad since shep had the 2 beacons downloaded in his/her head and the cypher, liara couldent understand the recordings anyway she was not needed at all. Mars mission again while playing an adapt james would have been better as a second squad mate 3 aliance solders could have hacked what needed hacking and goten threw with out a problem.

Journel no updates for what you have done so you have no clue what you have left to do with out runing to the citidel and seeing if any new names are up on the map to turn something in.

game play was aobut 50/50 for me while combat was improved controling shep was verry difucult when to much is tied to the space bar. want to run past cover nope you were a bit to close to the cover so your now in cover instead.

getting stuck in places one spot behind jokers chair i got stuck in and had to reload a earler save to fix.

No new LIs for straight femshep players so for fesheps that saved ash as vs there is no LI at all only flirt options with vega while some funny moments there its still a con.

As well as the big dead zones in the LI dilogs you get 1 date and auto dilog after till the end made it reallly hard to care about anything. also the only advantage I have seen from staying faithful to me1 LI is not haivng the you cheated on me dilog.

Auto Dilog way to much felt like I was watching a move more than playing a game threw some parts since I had no choice in that convo or only 1 choice then it went thew all the rest with out imput from me found my self walking away from the computer more than once to waite out the convo since I wasen't needed at all, and tried talking to everyone after all missions and geting auto dilog and only maby 2 or 3 convos where I actually had a bit of imput for the whole game was really anoying though the idea of smaller squad was so you could get to know them better hard to get to know someone if you cant really talk to them.

Also for new people comming into the game in the 3rd installment I dont see them bothering to care about any of the crew at all so its not the best place to enter the series in my opinion.

Forsed missions as in no controle of when you do them as soon as you do war summit your forsed to do that mission right after the convo, I really hated in me2 being forsed to horizan right after you get so many squad mates then being forsed to the colector base right after you get so many loyatly missions.

Normandy felt like a big dead zone in 2 you could walk around and hear dilog from difrent crew after every mission in 3 its like a big dead zone with no background granted your crew can be found woundering around and you can hear some convos but most of the time it dosent seem like the crew is actually anything more than bodys standing around.

normandy fule having to run out of a system to get fule then run back is more of a hinderance to game play and the fule upgrade that you did in me2 being taken away dident help.

Mini game failure I cant believe i'm saying this but would rather have had hacking back just assign squad mate to hack, in the game than runing from reaper ships and having to go do a mission before I can go back into a system.

Aperantly if you dont get kelly to feed your fish she dosent show up in 3 so you cant get your fish back ok so no extra intell for me aperantly since i dident have diner with kelly ever so will never see her again.

Most of side missions had no intrest in doing at all just run here scan this and return it felt like rinse and repeat quests that got old after the second one.

Dream sequance's would have been better to just play out instead of having to chase the kid down in slowmotion since in the end you dont talk to the kid you just see him burn up anyway with voices playing in the background.

No idea what happned to anyone on the Citadel after you take cerberus base im assuming they are all dead now unless they flead the Citadel no clue what happend there it was jsut take cerberus base and yea now TMI flees his base and now has controle over the Citadel would have been better with a short view of what happned its not like you didnet have several in the game one more wouldent have made much difreance.

Kai Lang nothing noteworthy for a boss fight at all his wanting to kill shep seemed like his main character trait. though i did picture him stealing anderson's ceral kinda like a dog marking his teritory so that didnet help at all.

The 2 squad mates I take with me to earth and are in the hammer run with me are sudenly on the normandy chrashed on some planet with joker was a defent fail

Catalist kinda reminded me of resident evil were the voice of the child computer or vi was controling the lab i kept expecting the catalist to say ive been verry bad.

Armor being forsed to were a helm with all but the N7 armor the other armor might be great but i prefer to have helmet off or at least not showing all the time. was one of cons for me2 as well.

Pros
Being able to assign squad mates to jobs instead of having shep do it all.

Being able to talk to the crew outside of the normandy though again with the auto dilog kinda took away form it a bit.

Some of the dilog was verry well done had me laughing unfortunaly the autodilog took away form most of the enjoyment for me.

Some of the missions were good

Grunts mission was great but unfortunaly its one of the few that really stands out for me.

Squad bannter.

so out of 100 you only get 30

there is really no replayability for me out of 6 sheps only 1 will ever see the end since they are all 3 flaviors of bad and none of your choices make any difreance to change it at all so you lost 40 on that alone.

the auto dilog lost you 10 with another 10 comming off for lack of conversations with crew hard to care about people you cant get to know.

lost another 10 to no new LI for straight femshep.

the other 30 you lost were the scripted deaths, forsed squad, forsed missions, timed mission of grissiom acadamy it comes up way to soon before you even get the war summit done in the game and your forsed to do it to fast or you lose out on the option i wanted to get all my crew together before i started hitting the missions so i had all options to take and check out dilog and with grissiom acadamy its not posable at all. since you cant get ash/kaidan till after udinas coop mission and if you waite that long you no longer have the option to do grissiom acadamy. side missions
