Starting on the positives i think the most exciting thing, for me atleast, was how difficult the game is on Insanity.Games these days follow a hold your hand attitude and i dont really know where that comes from.I want to be challenged by games and this game on max difficulty gonna get you killed a gazillion times.
Combat was fluid for the most part, except the cover part which took a while to familiriaze with.I spent half the game trying to run and getting into cover. Its frustrating and needed to get better.Weapon mods and the ammount of Weapons is satisfying for a bit of customization.
Conversations as usual are top notch.I liked the fact also that you didnt have to go into the wheel to learn new information from most characters(But i didnt understand why this was the case with some and not with others).
Scan minigame this time at least wasnt mindbreaking. But i think it made me less prone to look on the story of the planets that didnt have anything on.In previous games i remember reading the story from all the planets. This time around i didnt even zoom in a planet that didnt have an asset or a mission on.
As for the story which is basically what this is all about,i can say that im split completely in the middle. While i respect and have no problem with the way the game ended(I believe firmly that Shepard had to die).I cant say the same thing about the way they handled/wrapped the ending. You could have at least given a bit of insight what happened in the galaxy after the endings. And why introduce more questions in the ending is beyond me(What the heck is this "Child" that controls everything,Obviously it can read Shepards mind because it took a familiar form for Shepard but is it an illusion from Shepard or does it really exist).
Bioware handled the rest of the stories better. The Quarian/Geth war is imo the best story along with the Genophage in the game and both have endings to please different gameplays.
Being a Tali fan i didnt like the way her face was handled.I could understand not wanting to reveal it in this game and offer a new DLC with a full reveal. But seriously?A picture? And not only that but a picture of a human girl out of stock images?I would have prefered to keep it hidden that a half assed reveal.
I was dissapointed by the Rachni story arc,not because they fell victims again but because it didnt give something important.I expected more from them.
Some things seemed a bit rush,i dont know if the leaks had something to do with this or there wasnt enough time for them to work on it.But there is a feel that the game ended faster than it should.
The Graphics and how smooth the game run was a nice surprise for me.
PS.The game was a bit too small for my taste.Even though it has replayability i think it offers the smallest playthrough from all games.
PS2.I would never forgive Bioware if they made a DLC to fix an ending or something in the story.By doing that you admit that the game was flawed and u require money to fix it.If you want to fix something do it out of charge, otherwise use the DLC to do something else.
Surprisingly,I can see this game getting a 9/10 but the surprise is that what is keeping the game at a 9 is the story which shouldnt get more than 8.
