I think there's one item you can buy with real money at this point, and it's not as powerful as a carnifex.

It's actually true that you can buy weapons in multiplayer? :-( That's disappointing to say the least...

You can buy things from Razer to unlock the Collector's assault rifle.

No - it means you need to collect as many war assets as possible in SP, but you can achieve perfect ending without MP.

That is awesome to hear. Thank you so very much!

I haven't bought Mass Effect 3 yet... I may very well do so once I've finished considering the whole "day 1 DLC" content as it's really making me have to consider if I wish to buy something that supports this idea frankly.

A Shame as I really liked the 1st one and the second one came with some of the DLC I wanted included.

Anyway... getting off my query.

Can I clarify then. You can get the "best" endings (or rather you can access all ME3 endings) by playing the single player and doing sidequests, yes?

Are the sidequests interesting "story" ones or the subsitutes for "scan and mine" mouse scrolling (which was rather dull in ME2)? Quite a few people have commented that they're basic go here, scan this, go back to citadel missions which sound VERY dull. Is this true?

I just want to know why MP makes getting the"better" endings easier compared to single players doing fetch quests. It just seems a very odd decision to make.

Before anyone insults me, these are geniuinely curious questions from someone wanting to buy 3 to see ME through to the end. Also, I have played MP games of various types and am just not a fan of this genre and so normally steer clear, so please no "try it first before moaning" comments please.

I recommend buying the game and not buying the DLC. Then you look like someone who refuses to buy day 1 DLC rather than someone who just doesn't like ME.

It is kind of odd, yeah. If getting war assets is actually a reward then there's something wrong with the SP. I don't think getting assets I didn't earn in SP is a reward -- it's more like a punishment -- but since I'm not going to play MP it doesn't bug me that the MP rewards are worse than useless.

Well, my fears have been allayed somewhat with the dev post. Glad that there is more than enough war assets in SP:

I hope this is correct and MP isn't required to get the best ending. That would be a betrayal of the fans who have played though the series.

Finished the game "perfect" without touching MP. So no there is no need to play MP for the best ending.
Mp just makes your work easier/quicker. If you fail some missions or made some bad decisions due to your RP style and yet you wat best ending you can have, than MP is there for you.

BTW a bit off topic, but i liked games endings. Can understand the hate going on about them on net...At least its way better than DA2s endings....

They always stated the "the best ending" is possible without touching MP. However it is harder to quantify "How difficult" it is to get the best ending without MP and I guess that is where the issue(s) / disappointments might be buried.

Yeah it ended the franchise for me :)

And on your first question, its easy getting war assets. Actually i think you need to work more if you want a "bad" ending.
Only problem is if you rush main quest you will leave behind/fail some side missions which makes sense imho while there are reapers even in your bathromm andall galactic life is at stake .

But it is already out in the open that there is no such "happy" ending. I wont logically accept the ending that you are referring to as a happy ending and the people that know about it won't too
