 Hey guys,

So I never used the cloud, and I finished both ME1 and ME2.  I have the save file on my HDD from ME2 that says character importer and has the level and everything.  However, no files are showing up when I try to import a ME character.

I popped in ME2 and it will not recognize my save file in that game either.  It does at least recognize my ME1 save.  Does this mean that the ME2 save data that is on my HDD is corrupt?

It could be. Have you switched your console and transferred your account to a new one or did you save the game to usb before? Both of these were issues with importing ME2 saves. If your ME2 save isn't even recognized when you have ME2 in, then that sounds like a save corruption problem.

I think the easiest work around might be to put in ME2 and replay the end of the game you want to import (if possible. Can you even open it? Can you open any of your saves/careers?) if you have a save near the end somewhere, and make a new save. Then try to import it in ME3.

Another thing to try is if you never registered ME2 here, try doing that now. You said you never used the cloud and I'm guessing that's what you mean perhaps? EA has been really diligent with registering their content for both ME2 and ME3 so maybe thats the problem?

The "Mass Effect 2 Importer" files are remnants of the ME1 -> ME2 transfer. You need actual save files (that are just labelled "Mass Effect 2") to import into ME3.

I only had one ME2 playthrough and used the same save file for the whole thing, so I would guess I am out of luck. I figured it was corrupt but just seems odd as I haven't touched ME2 since I finished it so I didn't think it would have a corrupt save file.

I have not switched consoles at all. I really don't think I can play through ME2 again just so I can have everything the way I want it.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry about confusing the cloud thing. I forgot about that newer NXE feature.

Anyway, so can you open and play your ME2 career at all?

Nope, though I never remember deleting the save files from that game. I'm more than a little annoyed as I was hoping to see an Ashley/Miranda cat fight over me. That's life I guess.

In your consoles hard drive settings, do you see a save there for ME2?

I am also having this problem.  I have 4 completed ME2 saves on my hard drive and the game does not see even one of them.  The funny or well not really thing is that the demo pulled info from it when I played it a few weeks ago.

I've said this on a couple threads, but I had 12 saves going in and only ONE was recognized by ME3. This is definitely a problem.

hey,
I'm having issues like everyone one else it seems, I can port my ME2 saved file no problem but when
it loads the face of my guy will not port over as well. Is anyone having the same issue and if so how did you fix it?

I have postulated a procedure by which known working Mass Effect 2 save games not seen for import by Mass Effect 3 may be moved into a save that Mass Effect 3 will recognize. However, because I have not experienced any import difficulty (other than a ME1 face not importing, which is a separate issue), I cannot test it.

I can report that I was able to successfully import a Mass Effect 2 PC save to my XBox 360 and use it for starting a Mass Effect 3 game on that console. I am also willing to test saves of other players on my console, to determine whether they can be made importable.

Note that you should verify that your save game will load in Mass Effect 2 first. The procedure is cumbersome and time-consuming, thus you should first establish that you are actually in possession of a viable save before proceeding.

The process is documented at
http://www.gamefaqs....fect-3/62162976

Please let me know if you have any success or if the procedure fails entirely.

I imported one character with no problems, and when I was doing that it recognized three other saves from ME2. However, I have another character from ME2 that did not show up. He was the only one that was made fresh in ME2. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I have tried all my ME2 saves and they all work fine. BW needs to fix this, I have over 100 hours in each of those 4 saves between ME1 and ME2 with all the DLC. I have tried to make a new one but the decisions were not the ones I made when playing originally in previous versions. I do not have even one of my saves showing up and that is frustrating.

First off i'm not here to FLAME on bioware, I'm sure its very difficult to create a video game etc.

But my xbox 360 save file from my ME1/ME2 playthrough isn't even being recognized. I go to import ME2 character last night and press the A button, the game changes screen's and i see the loading in bottom right corner of the screen (i'm not thinking that my save file would not be recognized at all!), than next thing you know nothing even show's up? And please don't even get me started on all the people whining about their character's face not loading in properly!!!!!!!!! bunch of freakin whiners. Try having a save file that isn't even being read/recognized.

My cloud save feature has been disabled since day 1.

Sorry for the rant. I just wish bioware or Q&A or somebody would have informed us of this awesome feature before release.

Are you able to verify that your Mass Effect 2 saves can still be loaded in Mass Effect 2, and that at least one Mass Effect 2 save was created after completion of the suicide mission and that Shepard survived the suicide mission in that save?

If you can, then try the procedure described at http://www.gamefaqs....fect-3/62162976
I would very much like to know whether the procedure works.

I also am having the issue where my save files from the previous games don't show up after I click to import ME2 save. EA customer service has been absolutely terrible with their responses to my emails, being of no help help whatsoever. I fully explained the issue and the person who responded just gave me a link to a forum on the issue of character faces not importing correctly, even after I explained in my original email that WAS NOT the issue I was having and my problem was totally different. I'm so glad I saved my save files all these years and bought each game for nothing, apparently. Basically, even though the games are great, I feel like I've been scammed.

^^^^ I'm in the exact same boat and bioware has only been talking about the face import problem and not this problem which is happening on the same scale as the face problem. I mean WTF is the import itself just broken? Either way this is beyond the term Game Breaking because technically there isn't a game to begin with if my saves aren't usable. Its more like Game Prevention which I very much don't think should be forgivable. I mean you don't go to a restaruant and buy food only to have the waiter sprinkle cyanide on it before you chow down. I think I'm done ranting tonight, maybe more tomorrow :3
