I wonder who's ass is getting chewed out for this screw up. If anyone....

Sad thing is I dont think this is that big an issue to them, because they clearly knew this was an issue well before they shipped this turd.  I am just go glad that I 'm not the only one who feels the game is broken and unplayable.  Its credit to the game how much we care about our sheppards though.  I guess they just thought the majorty wouldnt care.

Exactly.  Game developers and companies in general are ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY.  Maximize profits by appealing to the masses.  All to appeal to little kids who have their parent's wallet.  There is no depth to games anymore.  All niches have been smoothed out.

I really really WANT my Shep's purple eyes but I am nervous tinkering with stuff I don't understand :( And I really shouldn't HAVE to. That's what gets me the most. I forgot to order the CE, I procrastinated playing ME2 until 3 weeks before ME3 released and fell in love with the story all over again. In true roleplayer fashion, I fell head over heels into the ME world. And I was represented by a purple-eyed, flaming redhead named Sarah Shepard. Having to recreate her is like waking up in the hospital after a tragic accident and the doctor informing you that he had to recreate your face. (Okay I'm overdramatizing. I admit it but it still makes me sad.) I am disappoint.

I had the purple eyes too.  You can still get them.  They are code 5.  They just look different with different faces and eye shape and color.  I will upload a pic for you

Game just crashed.  Thought I had the code saved.... I was so close to having a perfect "recreation".  This is frustrating.  Game devs these days are putting out really poorly made games.

You mean those weird darkish blue eyes? I see light grey green, light green, light blue, dark blue, grey,  dark blue (maybe purple?) then the browns red and silver. I will be sorta sad if that odd blue is the new purple but better than nothing. Can the person claiming they fixed it with that convoluted process show a pic?

The convoluted process is a little too complex.  The code you get from the site is not really close.  I had to change a lot but I had a basic starting point.  Reloading your ME1 save into ME2 and then getting past the first ship part and then comparing custom to the previous is the best way to go.

Playing the game with a default Shepard and loving it so far! I really think Bioware did a great job with the game which is why it is so frustrating not to use custom characters that I really care about.

What I really want to hear is if they can fix the problem at all or not. If it is fixable then i will hold out before playing previous careers, and be glad that i waited. If not then I will create an approximation of my ME1&2 characters and deal with it. I'm not asking for an ETA or making ultimatums, but it would benefit me directly to have my question answered.

Well no offense chris, but the problem being an error with face codes was obvious. I for one have shephards who don't even have a face codes..

I've never used cloud, i did use a transfer cable. Why is it not importing my characters, i'm not gonna play through 1 and 2 again. But this is a huge reason as to why i like the series so this is really disapointing. I'd really like a fix to this issue.

I have the standard shepherd face i think (at least one of them does anyway). None of me mates had this issue. this sucks.

to C9316 as a spiderman fan i find that picture disturbing.

I don't know what to say. No matter how hard I try the CC is different so I can't create my FemShep's face. What the hell happend?

As most of the people in this thread, I think the Face Import Issue is a legitimate problem that HAS to be fixed.

But some people are just going too far.

This is how close I get in ME2 to my ME1 import. I will now try the code in ME3 and see the effect. (I still see some differences though, notably eye color in ME2)  This is after about an hour of tweaking and comparing.  (when I imported she was a bald black woman with eyes wide apart and huge chin.

Yeah, game didn't recognize my face import at all. I've tried to recreate my character, but I spent so much time on him the first go round, and I just can't seem to get him how he use to be.

I played an hour of the main story right now but its so weird my character looks so different. I think I'm only doing multiplayer until this face import problem gets fixed, its too weird for me otherwise

So basically you're criticizing this guy for not liking the way his femshep turned out because you think there's no problem with it?

Right....

I used the yaml upload thing to get my face looking okay. But I am just baffled by this whole thing tbh. I really really want to play but knowing I will get into the story only to start over again once this is fixed makes me stick to MP. So forgive my retarded asari vanguard blundering around all you hardcore MP peoples.

Yes, hence why I used the word "legitimate".

His/her femshep looks identical to the previous face models, so excuse me if I express my opinion that complaining on that import is over-dramatic exaggeration.

The only issue to them now is how much money they have in their pockets. They've got our money, and so now they couldn't care less about us, oh that is unless they can charge us for fixing what should already be functional. They don't give a damn about or have any respect for their fans anymore. If they did, they wouldn't have shipped the game in this unplayable state(yes not being able to import your face, and possibly your choices not being imported correctly is unplayable as far as I'm concerned), opting to spend a month making Day One DLC, when they could have instead spent that month fixing the importer or a myriad of other issues with the game.

I don't blame you. I haven't played at all.  Not even multiplayer.  We're in the same boat, let's paddle.

I was really looking forward to wrapping up this game with my man that I have gone on this incredible journey with, but of course, I cannot.
I tried changing the face because I was - and still am - dying to play it, but it's just not the same.
Have you seen The Thing? It's just like that - this new Shep may replicate your old one but you just know there's something off about him/her.

I'd like to think Bioware ISN'T that generic view of a company - the greedy business that doesn't care about anything but a profit - so I'm holding onto somewhat of a naive hope that they have cared all along and really are striving their hardest to fix this, because, really, without this fix, their promise of loading up a character to journey on throughout the three games is empty and invalid.

Anyhoo, mark this as the BILLIONTH complaint. I'm torn between playing this with a face I can create that bests matches my man, or wait until there is a fix so I can go through the emotions for the first time with my original bloke.

Otherwise we may well have to wait for months
at least, if we are lucky. We purchased a complete software, not a beta
one and no customer has to know about software codes or how difficult
to re-write them.

It is ridiculous that we have to do all these modifications using work arounds when this critical feature should have been one of the first things to be tested.

This is hell waiting too play the game. I refuse the play the single player until their is either a fix, or we're flat out told that they wont be fixing it. Had the game 5 days now and have only played 30 mins of single player. Multiplayer was good for the first day, but since then i'll be lucky too find a match i can join, or too stay in a match without disconnecting. Its really quite disappointing, but I suppose there's nothing I can do but just wait for the fix, and wait for multiplayer matches too be found as well...

I've decided now to wait for the fix. Even though I finally used the YAML method after about 5 hours of work-around work which would have been avoided if Bioware tested this issue, I am with many others that I know I will replay the game when the fix gets deployed. So I am not going to wait my time being annoyed with little differences in my Shepard whilst I am playing it.

Right, you're trying to exclude him from the "legitimate" group, assuming I understood your last statement in that post correctly.  But the truth of the matter is his reasons for disliking his ME3 Shepard are no  more or less legitimate than anyone else's because this entire thing, and particularly this thing, is pure subjective, personal preference.

You're entitled to your opinion for sure. I'm not trying to silence you, and you made your point.  All I'm saying is that it's a bit...rude to act as if that guy is completely nuts because technically you could categorize me and the 20+ people in this thread that have a problem with their ME3 Sheps in your definition of "illegitimate".  Unless there's some objective standard now on what's legitimate and illegitimate imported ME3 Shepard I'm unaware of.
