So does the code that shows up in Character creation in Mass Effect 3 (360) also show up in Mass Effect 2 (360)?

I see there are mixed results with this method but I'd like to still see what I get if possible

you have to create a brand new character from scratch to get the code on 360. There is no code generated by the first game. And if you import a character in ME2 you do not reieve a code

Well, hopefully the patch will be complete by the time I complete my playthrough through ME1 and ME2 for my final Master Canon Shepard. She's going to be paragon dominant with some renegade, so glad that became possible again in ME3 without sacrificing persuasion.

Well like with pretty much everyone's Shepard you're gonna get small fractions or hints of your previous Shepard.  For me, I wouldn't even call it close to dead on as say the transition was from ME1-->ME2.  Whether it's good enough for you is your call.  Some people that say the method in the OP "works" is because it's "good enough" or they want to believe so badly that's their Shepard.

Personally, it won't be perfect unless I see minute differences as there were between ME1-->ME2

For example look at mine:

True.  For me, I want the feeling of "YES, that's my Shep!" that I got from ME2.

How do you tell if milk is sour? If you think it might be...it is.  If it isn't, you'll have no doubt.

(Ouching at the ME3 FakeShep of course, not the original design.)

Ain't that the truth.  Then I saw her in game and it was downhill and rock bottom.

Although...with what we learned from Pheonix about skin and makeup colors, maybe I'll give her another try.  Her imported ME3 skin tone wasn't rich enough, and we all know what it does with makeup.  Hmm...could be worth a shot.

Arrgh.  Her skin and eye color vector values were actually identical between 2 and 3, they just look wrong in 3.

I guess it would still be possible to fine-tune the numbers to get colors I like, but I won't bother trying that unless Bioware says they won't fix it.

For purple-eyed Sheps out there. I don't know if this has been stated before.

Damn that is frustrating.   Definitely sucks being at a stand still.

Got as close as I could to recreating my ME1+ME2 Shep using YAML and a few different parts in ME3's CC.

Posted Image

From what I can tell, a lot of the coloring and parts have been messed with so you have to do a little tinkering and try other CC parts to see what works. The game is also less shiny and darker looking, making things look washed out.

I was eventually able to import my face with the community tool. It didn't work the first time because that tool can generate neck codes like -6, and when you paste it into ME3 it shifts all the codes across by one, and gives you a completely different face to what you expected.

I took out the - sign, and got a face almost the same as my original ME1 one. Good enough to play with. I'm about 20 hours in now. Still a huge failure on Bioware's part.

It looks like the same Shep to me. I see all of the facial structures. He looks more like a real person in ME3 imo, whereas in ME2 he still looks like CG, but thats also a flaw of CC and squad screenshots. LOL I seem to have this thing where everyone else's comparisons look like good matches to me, but the creators can't see it... but with my own Shep I have a hard time seeing the similarities - although once she's in game I know it's her.

Will do...though I may not try until the fix.  Here she is from 2, though:

The ME3 eyes, though...the dead, soulless eyes...*shudder*

BeeeUtiful! Definitely not a face anyone would want to be changed

St least you got close I did'nt if I took a pic you would really be sayinfg its crummy. For me the difference would be you start off with that white female and end up with a black women. I made a white sheppard that looks like my real life face. In the first 2 games it looked like me.

When I imported my shep into ME3 I ended up with a muscular mexican shep with a beard. I can't even make a sheppard that looks like me in ME3. The parts are not there specifically the nose. Which is odd since I have a pretty normal shapped nose. A nose of that shape should be in the game it was in there before in the older games.

Oh and anyone else notice the graphics with chracter models was not as good. Particularilly the hands notice how they are not as clear with textures. For example the first cut scene look at andersons hands it looks like he has'nt washed them for a while. Also the eyes are not as good as they were in ME1 and ME2.

Or look at some of the clothing that should be shinny. Instead of ebing shinny it has some white smeared on it to just slightly appear like its shinny. The graphics of objects are better but there is a major degrade in the character models.

Yeah, there definitely hints in there, but it's not spot on, and perhaps it may never be spot on.  Yet, I wouldn't know unless BioWare comes out and says something like, "Hey guys this is the closest its gonna get because we overhauled the graphics"

That will suck for sure, but then at least I could move on and play the damn game despite it ruining my experience.

Until then though I demand that the differences be subtle as they were between ME1-->ME2. It's just not the same.

I feel for ya and your Shep.  Yeah yours is definitely worse off, and I can only imagine what it feels like having a character that looked spot on to you change in this version into something completely different and being unable to do anything about it.  I hope whatever fix is offered can get your experience back into the game.

I am posting these pics of one of my shepards that for some reason ME3 allowed me to import. I only had to change hair type and eye colour and I was good to go but the game has rejected the rest of my shepards outright so i,m not sure what the situation is with this one.

I notice that the colour pallete in ME3 has a greyness to it and ME2 is more pinkish in colour and i have posted pics from both games for comparison.

You will have to forgive the pic quality as these are from my xbox so i was using a digital camera so its not that clear and the pics do not do the avatar justice.

Just Checking in... (Still not playing ME3) I haven't expected any Changes over the weekend, and doesn't look like there has been any.

Someone forwarded me this Article on facebook from Forbs.... It has over 19,000 views:  www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/11/new-video-shows-mass-effect-3-day-one-dlc-already-on-disc/  This doesn't cover our concern but does shead light on how screwed up game launch was.

Keep sharing this link: www.fixmasseffect3.com/   I hope we hear something soon.

Bah, I just can't wait it out any longer. I am dying to go on this huge emotional journey and I can't be bothered waiting to see if they can fix it or not. What if they can't get it right? Then I've waited for nothing...but what if they can? then i've soldiered through and hell, I've waited this long, I can wait another week.

Up to you on how you can manage your own patience friend and how worth it it'll be that you play with a Shepard that has your face.  However look at it this way, say you wait and they can't get it right you really didn't lose anything except maybe time, but that only matters if the time lost was precious or limited right?  If that is the case perhaps not waiting and going forward possibly is the best option.
