This is how close i could get so far:

ME2 imported from ME1:
img220.imageshack.us/img220/3209/shepme2.jpg

ME3:
img571.imageshack.us/img571/6121/shepme3.jpg

Some could say it close enough, but i can't bare this sort of resemblance... For me it's the same or none...

Based on that it looks like you got luckier than me, but I don't trust the cc screen.  My Sheps look OK in the cc screen, but in-game, terrible.

A friend of mind Posted this on Mass Effect 2 F/B page:

I just want to play Mass 3 WITH MY SHEPHERD, not some other guy !!!!! Come on BioWare, don't teabag your longtime fans !!!!! Mass Effect is my most beloved franchise and I feel so crushed at this point - The worst fail in my personal gaming history; been a fan since MDK2 and I would have never guessed that this is how all of my years playing Mass Effect were gonna end - I hope that BioWare is really working on a fix, I refuse to play without my Shepherd

The first reply was from the FB page: Mass Effect 2 We are investigating!

There was a total of 6 comments  before the post was pulled off the page. I wanted to paste a link to the post, but the only way I can find it is to look under the "Friend Activity" icon. I don't think the link would work for just anyone.

I thought it is interesting that he got a reply, then cut off.

BTW… This is probably old news to everyone here, but Chris did update the opening comment to this thread a few days ago to: We want to keep everyone up to date on this issue as we know how strongly many you feel about this…. (There is more goto page1)

lets Keep the pressure up..... www.fixmasseffect3.com/

If it works for you man, more power to you.  I see hints of your Shepard in the ME3 version for sure (mine's the same), but the biggest change I see is the eyes.  They give off a different "soul" to your shepard in the CC screen.  But like Clarian said it's in game; that's where the biggest difference is and, for me and my femshep at least, is most jarring.

ok for those who think there is no issue, please see how my ME2 shep was imported to ME3...this was a fresh ME2 face....i found the code and used it for most of my runs

I dont think anything carried over....but if anyone can get my ME2 face working in ME3 please let me know

Chug the facial structure looks the same to me. You just need to change the colors for hair, iris, brows and lips. I know you won't be able to get the same exact colors in ME3 (unless you use Gibbed and copy values from ME2 to ME3), but all the facial dimensions and  features look correct imo.

actually the structure is completely different....first thing i did was change the hair/skin/eye colours and it looked nothing like my ME2 face

Well I see the same structures there, although the top of her head squashed out a little. Have you played her with just the color changes past the first section of the game?

I saw the new version you made in the pics a few pages back, and I feel like you changed her chin and jaw in such a way that she looks even more different than the ME2 version. Just telling you what I see ;)

Maybe I'm simply one of the lucky ones, and it might be hard to tell from these pictures, but here's a comparison for one of my Sheps:

ME2 Squad screen:

ME3 CC (had to fix eye and maybe hair colors):

(I need to get some better ME2 screen shots)
Her face came through for me from what I can see. What do you think?

Honestly, this saddens me. Not that ur ME3 creation isn't good, it's jus that your ME2 one is SO good, and has such a realistic visage compared to the 3D anime look of the update. I've couldn't recreate my ME1 face. was a total impossibility. From skin colour to just general appearance, I gave in and decided to just play the game with an all new face. I'll just continue creating new Sheps in ME1 and updating them in ME2 until the patch arrives. Le sigh.

MorphFeatures is something I'm not sure about. When I transferred these variables, it didn't seem to have any effect. You might try not bothering with them.

It looks to me like MorphFeatures correspond to most of the sliders in the cc...other than colors and hairstyle, etc. But jaw width, nose length, all that kind of stuff. So, nothing really that you couldn't do in the cc, unless you wanted a more precise adjustment to something.

so..., when is bioware going to keep us, 'UP TO DATE". Is everyone over there taking a long vacation after releasing a broken game and tricking millions of people into buying it

Mine looks like an animated version of ME2 as well! I'll post mine in a bit.

After a bit of tinkering, and a lot of screenshot comparisons, I managed to get an ME2 face code that matches my ME1 import perfectly, except for blush colour (the tone in the import is in between two of the tones available in ME2, but it's not really an issue).

So I used the same code in ME3...and was disappointed. I just can't see much of a resemblance. Here are some screenshots:

The ME3 CC lighting is horrible. To anyone considering that they might be satisfied with "close enough" or "this is Shepard after being locked up" please check out how your character actually looks in game before giving up.

I found that features that looked right/wrong in the CC came out completely different in the actual cutscenes. The eventual ME3 Shepard I chose looked less like my ME2 Shepard in the CC than some of the versions/attempts which I ultimately rejected once seeing them in game.

This is a more fair comparison than above (since they are both from CC):

ME3 in-play: (Now go back up and look at the first ME2 CC shot)
Posted Image

I wish I had a good ME2 in-play shot, but I can't find a bunch of my old screenshots. I think the ME3 in-play pic looks a lot more like the shep in the ME2 CC pics... the point being that ME3's CC (as well as the squad screen and the beginning of the game) is a pretty weird view of your ME2 Shep. To me, she looked just like her old self all along. The hair part switching sides throws things off a little though ;)

(BTW, I had the ME2 code for this Shep because when I imported her into ME2 from ME1, I customized her a bit - no mods, but just changed the hair color from black to bleach blonde)

At the link: http://social.biowar...093/121#9815593

Anyone know how what is meant by step:

"4. Using Gibbed, export headmorph from your new edited ME3 save, and import it into your latest ME3 playthrough save."

Your ME2 face shares many features with mine, and your attempt in ME3 turned out similar as well. I just can't bear to play through with a pod-person version of a four year old character. I lasted through Mars and quit. My daughter and I both agree that the ME1/2 faces were much more life-like, while the ME3 faces look plastic and dead-eyed.. almost like a barbie doll.   :(

Here is mine... ME2 shep had definition in her face, looked almost photo-realistic at times... ME3 shep looks like a 3D animated version of her former self.

You just need to fix the brow color... then test her in game until the first couple of missions. She'll look tons different than in the ME3 CC

Just to clarify, there are no existing workaround methods for 360 that do not involve a formatted USB drive, correct? I guess I can't imagine there would be, but I've been watching this thread for so long I'm not really sure which way is up and if there are only 2 or like 20 different methods thus far, and I'm getting pretty close to giving up on my wait.

Yeah, I noticed the brow colour was wrong, I just posted the screenshots to compare the results of the exact same code in both games. I changed the brow colour to match the hair colour and started the game, but I just can't get used to it for some reason. She just feels off somehow. The constant angry look doesn't really help I guess.

Tried the KunamiMata fix.

I got this as my face code: 3[SKINTONE_FAIL]1.C5P.RQJ.152.8CM.41A.STU.6A1.CN1.GJ1.151.1

What do I do next ?

Just use the number 1 in place of the skin tone fail message - so the first three numbers of your code will be 311.

Once you get it in the CC, fix the skin tone and any other wild cards (which will probably be hair color, brow color, iris color and possibly nose shape)

You need a USB flash drive, but an external USB HDD should work as well. You barely need any space for the save though. I'm not sure if the Xbox will give you a minimum allowable amount, but you only need maybe a couple hundred KBs if that - so if u have any USB drive at all, just let the Xbox format the least possible amount of space for you (but backup anything already on the USB drive). Basically you need some way to transfer that save to a PC, and the Xbox only wants to talk to USB.

Janus breaks it down with the simplest explanation here - social.bioware.com/1124764/blog/211646/

i tried the import code with the yaml file stuff. I thought it looked good enough on the cc screen. Then a get a side shot of her face in game and it looks like a beak. I wish the developers would let us know what type of fix they are planning. I don't know whether to wait for a fix or just live with the fact I have to play a sheperd with a broken nose
