So does the fix in first page actually work? The link seems to imply that face imports as different anyway .-.

I'm kind of annoyed at not being able to import my fem!Shep face from ME 2 on my second playthrough of ME 3 :P

Your mileage may vary. Because it's still using the ME3 cc to rebuild your Shepard, you may not get anything close if those facial options have been removed or changed from the CC. So you basically get ME3's best guess. Some people in the thread seem to be pleased with the results, but they are definitely in the minority. It's worth a shot, especially if you can't bring yourself to wait potentially weeks or more for an official fix.

Just don't be surprised if it doesn't come out like you want/remember your Shepard.

Anybody have a link to that Gibbed save-edit method for the 360 I believe somebody posted a few dozen pages back? Might give that a try.

Some official word this week would be nice.

Im trying adding the Gibbed fix on top of the much discussed YAML method....lets see how much it improves!

And yeah, no doubt we will get an update this week. I am dying to play this game and I cant believe that a perfect 3 day weekend to play it was robbed from me due to stupid facial issues.

This game has pulled in well over $200,000,000...even if half of 1% went towards fixing this it would be done in days.

Where is our ETA BioWare!

I am a ticked off ME player and the face ME3 gave me dose not remotely look like my character in ME and ME2. ME3 should of read from ME not from ME2. The instructions I followed from the link in the first page, I just about got it spot on. I think my character had a nose job.

They really messed up the eyelashes. Small detail but it's another mistake in the long list of them they've made when it comes to the face editor/ graphics engine.

Fail. On their part. not yours. There's just no excuse for a step backwards. It's been said over and over but it's the one thing I find hardest to take... why have less options? why take off scars?

more options? fantastic. But not out with the old, in with the new. The original was quite sparse already with its CC compared to most. I just can't imagine the board meeting where someone actually says "so erm... are we gonna cut down the customisation options for our big almighty closure to the franchise that everybody's ben waiting 5 years for?" "sure. y not. they'll barely notice. the loyal fans with have their own Shep to play with, whats the worst that could happen!"

I know there is a workaround BUT i still feel like have to air my opinion.

This is one of the major features of the series. HOW could they have missed it in beta... And they marketed it with this feature....

Its like marketing a graphic card with 100 texture units but when you buy the product  you find out ony 90 of them actually works, you can get the other 10 to work through som commited people in the communitys effort but not thorugh the company you shelled out the cash for the product to, in the first place. It's like doing that and not expecting a reaction from the clientel.

Won't rage over BW as a whole since they've brought me some of the best games I've ever played but i'm seriously disgruntled over this game.

I Still find it unlikely that they missed it during production... improbable even.

Would've been nice to not have to do the workaround. However...did the workaround...the face is Shep, and the game is incredible.

i'm glad i'm  not the only one who notices this. eyelashes seem to too bushy at the bottom while it should have been bushier at the top? did they reverse the eyelids or something?

for the love of god how i wish this game was mod-able like dragon age or skyrim. those beauty expert modders will fix that faster than bioware could say, "but we...", and then some.

Was excited to start playing yesterday, but it was bit disappointment when the character import failed.. the female Shephard looked quite different. Have to see if I can fix this or get the ME1 and/or ME2 character codes somehow out of the XBOX360.

My character was deformed a bit similar way as jkthunder's screenshots. Actually his/her character is very similar to mine.

Sounds like an automatic message.

Would it have been better to not reply? Because it is much easier to remain silent.

Until you can tell us how such a bug made it through testing in the first place, and justify the numerous other poor design choices in the game. Maybe that would be best. Why don't you guys go sit down, have you're little meeting. Then come back and tell us why you made such poor design choices and what you plan on doing to earn back the faith of your customers.

My character had been imported from ME1 to ME2 to ME3 and it gave me an error when I imported it into ME3 =(

I had to completely redo my character's face and while I think I got it somewhat close I know it's not exactly how it used to be.

Really, I’m running low on patience.
What would it be like with Star Wars? „Yeah, so you liked the New Hope and Empire? Here comes the Jedi Returns, with the same cast. Harrison Ford will be back as Han Solo, we just showed him on the posters.” – Except, when the carbonite melts, it’s Dolph Lundgren, who gets out of it.
Don’t get me wrong, I like him here and there, but it’s just not the same experience. AND of course they told us, it will be the same guy over the trilogy.

I pretty much idolized Bioware before. From Baldur’s Gate through KOTOR to Mass Effect. KOTOR 2 was unfinished in it’s own term, but it was good enogh for me to play it through a couple of times. I was shocked at first with the changes in ME2, but I learned to love it. Dragon Age 2 was the first game of BW, that I absolutely loathed because of it’s changes, still I chewed myself through it once.
Now I have the Collector’s Edition, bought at 7th. Waited to 9th to register it in Europe, and still not played a minute. Does it make any difference to the developer/publisher? I better not put myself into that illusion. They got their money from me already – ain’t they?

The situation now resembles me a manufacturer, who advertises it’s car with something, and when you realise that they screwed you, they just say: „Yeah, we know it, will work on it. At the time try install it yourself with the help of someone”
I’m an end user. I don’t want to do anything with hex editing and so. I just want to use the feature they promoted.
And of course I have bigger chance to struck by lightning on a sunny afternoon, than to get some compensation in the future, for my inconvenience.

Maybe EA have feed Bioware after midnight. Now they looks like the same cuddly creatures, but wicked and mischievous int he inside…

Yeah, it's like one of the main characters having reconstructive surgery after a car crash and looking really different in the second film!

Also, you will need two versions of Gibbed's Mass Effect save editor. One for ME2, one for ME3. Links below:
Mass Effect 2 Editor:
http://mod.gib.me/ma...edit_rev25.zip

Mass Effect 3 Editor:
http://svn.gib.me/bu...dit-r43_b55.zip

*snip*

.

Pheonix, thanks for your effort on this issue. However, the ME3 editor link in somehow disabled. Could you check on that link. I can't download the zip file.

It seems Gibbed is updating the ME3 editor quite often, so I'll instead provide a link to the archive.

Mark Hamill is still Mark Hamill in the Empire, but I've got the default character and an error message instead of a slight difference...

Well, it's only fake advertisement.
And it's completely legal of course.

With all the money they've made and all the games they've sold, I doubt they are too concerned about the fix.

I am still waiting though.

Seriously, what does he (Chris) mean that some people are affected ?! From what I can glean so far: all people that had used Mass Effect 1 save, and imported in 2 then in 3 are affected. How this issue can get past through even the most basic pre-beta(alpha) testing is beyond me. I think that at least half of the people are affected by this issue to a certain degree - some may tolerate it, others like me find it totally unacceptable and game-breaking to the point where I can't force myself to start playing. The time it takes to return things to normal (yes return, not fix!) does not bode well. Are we going to resort to the usual methods yet again? Fans fixing the Bioware's games dating from the very 1st Baldur's gate game ...
