Hmm well after trying both the YAML method, rebuying Mass Effect 2, spending my whole afternoon after work today learning and then trying the Glibbed method I am done with tinkering and tankering here, there, and everywhere. I am done feeling like some sort of Bioware programmer.

Im done, im out, until this issue is FIXED.

We're almost at 600 votes, and that's a week since ME3 releases so 600 votes in a week. Aiming for a thousand by the end of the month (yeah, I excpect the fix to take that long, if ever).

What we need is not patience but
what we need is PRESSURE !
Otherwise we may well have to wait for months
at least, if we are lucky. We purchased a complete software, not a beta
one and no customer has to know about software codes or how difficult
to re-write them.

Give us our Shepards back!
VOTE HERE TO SHOW BIOWARE WERE NOT HAPPY.

WTH? I ordered CE as soon as it was available and worked my ass off to take 5 days off to play this, and now I can't import *any* of my ME 1 characters? And it's been a week and still no fix from Bioware? I'm happy to throw a lot of money at a product I love, but I don't appreciate my time being wasted like this through sheer oversight (I don't want to accuse anybody of being lazy) when quality checking a core feature.

The total votes are now over 1,000...that seems like a bit of a milestone.

I would be happy to start with little bit wrong faced if I knew I could update the face mid-game..

Welcome to the club..

Not a single word from Bioware yet about when the patch will released. :P

Here's mine rate pleeeease!

I used that website that automatically makes the facecode for you after you upload it. I only had to tweak it a little (lips, hair, facial hair, and nose.

Honestly I kind of wish this hair was in the first two...I prefer it to my original hairstyle. xD

instead of Bioware having got this right from day 1 - it is up to us to spend hours to try to get this to work, I find this absurd.

It is absurd. And I won't be surprised if they just took one of the fan fixes, and incorporate it into the game somehow.

Damnit I spent 2 hours to figure out my femshep un-calculated face code from that generator
And I ended up failed.
Seriously Bioware?!

Just to reiterate - I don't want or care about an ETA, I can't complain anymore because I'm just completely disappointed and upset by this whole issue.
All I want now is to know whether or not this patch is worth waiting for - we know the codes aren't being detected properly because, you know, it's not working!
So please, just let us know if what is achievable with this patch. That's all I want to know. Please. It's unfair to leave your fans dangling after five+ years of unending support.

Here's the face I used for the femShep I played in ME2 -

THE HOLY GRAIL OF HAIR

Yep. That's the hairstyle I was using in ME1 & ME2 thats vanished for ME3. @_@ *righteous fistwave of fury*

Oh dear. I just followed all the directions under 'For Xbox 360 users' and a couple of hours of fiddling later realized that all I did was ... well... make a copy of my savegame. ><;;;

I'm going to bed. Hopefully something'll happen overnight, like magic!

Anderson's new look I can live with, Ashley's just bugs the heck out of me.

Bioware's fix better be something I can download with one click. After trying all the fix gibberish (I'm sure it's awesome, I just can't decipher it), I will a very unhappy camper if I have to do anything more. What if we have to pay for it? NO NO NO NO NO! I swear that would make me so mad that I'd use the cds to either scrape my windshield or pick up my dogs poop.

That said, it's also entirely possible that this data isn't copying well because of the LOD or MorphFeatures collections.

Could be.  I don't know much about it, but now that I think about it, I guess applying settings intended for one skeleton or whatever, to a different one, is just a roll of the dice at best.  But, I had to try...

Pheonix52gx wrote...
If I were you, I'd try coping your colour variables; you might be surprised how much more like the shep you're after it gets.

Improving the colors would be the icing on the cake for me, but they're really the least of my issues.  Still, maybe I will try that eventually.

But for now, with all the things I've tried without getting any closer...I think I'll wait, and if the Bioware fix doesn't solve my problems, THEN try other things, if there are any new approaches by then.  I can totally understand the people who are eager to play, but I'm not, really.  If I had to wait a year or two, no problem.

My main urgency is just wanting to know WHETHER this is going to be fixed.  Not even when.  So far they have said, "We have determined that faces importing incorrectly is an error with how codes were detected when transferred from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2 and then on into Mass Effect 3 or importing a Mass Effect 2 saved game with New Game +."

Well, I didn't import a face from 1 to 2 and then get an error message in 3.  I didn't import an ME2 NG+.  So as far as I can tell, they haven't even acknowledged my problem yet.  And as this thread shows, I'm not the only one having it.  So I'd appreciate some response to that.

Yeah, if someone comes up with a new method, I'll probably cave in and try it.  But at this point, I'd rather use those as last resorts if the Bioware fix is insufficient, or if they say that my problem isn't going to be fixed.  I can wait years if I have to, or just not ever play ME3 at all.

I'm just really disappointed. It's just common sense that if you are importing facial features to bring custom created characters through to continue the story of a previous game, you don't remove customisation options that could have been used in that previous game. Whoevers idea that was clearly hasn't a clue when it comes to business, let alone design.

I can't even bring myself to play it without my sheps face. Some say it's petty, but everytime my (impostor) character takes his helmet off, starts dialogue or the camera swings round to his face, i'm then looking elsewhere for my shepard. It just breaks all immersion, and buggers up the story for me.

The fact that so many of you feel the same way just goes to show it's far from a petty matter...

Having a hard time adjusting to my Shepard's new looks.
For me though it's not the actual facial features that seem to be off. They do look a little different but not too much in my case.
Rather, it's the new facial animations which seem to be way over-expressive from what i've seen so far, making my shep to look angry or disgusted like all the time. And that could be even worse because i doubt that any modifications to the morph could help that.

Possible, but from what I've been looking at, the game is designed to import our Shepards, or at least use a similar system that should be transferable. My version of the Gibbed method is built on that presumption (and it's not amazing, true), so it would be fairer to say that that method incororates Bioware's rather than vice versa.

If such an eventuality comes to play, I'd hope that creator gets a lot of credit and some kind of compensation; the person who make the YAML conversion site doesn't get enough and it's really impressive. That his site has been slammed because of Bioware doesn't seem all that fair, in my mind.

If you want to make use of the workaround that Bioware has suggested in the first post of this thread, please carefully read the instructions in the link below:
http://social.biowar...47811/3#9249327

If you are a PC user, you only need to start from step 5. You do not need Gibbed's save editor or the headmorph files it produces to do this workaround.
