How much longer do i have to wait, i just want to play the game. but i refuse without my shepard, is there any kind of date set for a patch

I'm with you. I just purposefully finished ME1 and ME2 for the second time, just to enjoy my Shepard character even more in ME3. It seems like a small thing, but it's important. When you play through games like this, you develop a connection with your character, and to not have that represented in ME3 completely kills the immersion. I cannot believe this was overlooked, since being able to import characters was such a key element in the first two games. I'll just keep waiting until this is fixed I guess.

im starting to think they wont even bother in which case i wont be bothering playing, people say get over it but i cant it just kills the game i probs take it back if its not fixed in a few days

This is the response I got from an EA rep:

Hello Finn,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts and letting us know about your issue.

I appreciate your interest in the game and assure you to provide the continual support throughout from my end.

Please accept my genuine apology for the way you have been made to feel. We at EA, strive to make our customers have an exceptional experience. Any deviation from this is dealt very critically. Your case definitely merits attention and I assure you my support in getting this sorted out.

I have gone through your issue and like to inform you to keep a check on the game forum for any updates. I also wish to suggest you that we do not any ETA for this, because this depends on the game developer and the people working for the game. They are still working on this.

I wish I could personally do something for you but nothing much can be done.

I humbly ask for your understanding regarding this matter and I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.

Electronic Arts values your affiliation and looks forward to hear from you. Also, in case of any help, please get in touch with us anytime. Alternatively, please visit our extensive knowledge base online: http://help.ea.com.

Whats the contact email you wrote to.  And what exactly did you write?  Just curious.

Going to dream of what Mass Effect 3 must be like to actually play....

There used to be a time when developers actually shipped finished products.

a week after launch and the game is still unplayable with any since of continuity whatsoever for fans who have supported the series since the beginning. I will never waste my money on another bioware or ea product again. I find it hard to believe the QA team didn't find this bug and know it would ruin the product launch. I want my $60 back, but i'll never get it. I feel like they stole my money.

Remember, finding glitches and deciding to fix them are done by two different groups.  I personally doubt that QA DIDN'T find the glitch.  Considering it was in the demo and end users found it there, Bioware certainly knew about it but didn't say anything until people caused a stink on launch day.

My Shepard went through (I counted) 700 HOURS of total gameplay in ME1 and ME2. I want my Shepard back, not the stupid slaphead that the game gives me. Where the hell is that patch?

i like how they now have a forum popup that says they are tired of the angry backlash and they won't tolerate it anymore. Perhaps they should be worried about when their fans won't tolerate this stuff anymore.

So I've been messing around with Gibbed in my PC, modifying my Xbox's saves files. These are the results (sorry for the image quality, this is on the Xbox and my capture software is kind of crapy and doesn't capture HD images):

*Note: the save editor version provided by Phoenix doesn't work for Xbox saves, you have to use the version Malcroix posted a few pages back
..

LOTS OF REASONED ARGUMENT AND LEGITIMATE CONCERN WITH EYES

This seems like a really good attempt. Also, thank you for highlighting the version is wrong, I will update my links. I believe you made mention of the femShep hair collection (

If you haven't played by now, then I suggest you return your copy because if you're complaining about this, then there is far worse you'll be complaining about.

All I know is this is 146 pages of the same complaints - we're moving in circles, people.
Yes, okay, I know people have posted solutions to the error and are communicating about questions and answers to one another and whatnot, but unless you're obsessively keeping track of what information is on what page, it all gets kinda lost in the mix and we end up debating with ourselves.
Damned if I know what I wrote last because this page moves constantly forward.

I think it's a little much to tear apart Bioware.
Outrage and disappointment is understandable, the KEEP MY SHEPARD pages are touching to see and I'm sure Bioware finds this touching as well and are working on it as hard as they can but some things I've seen go a little too far. I'm right there with you all - disheartened, outraged, all that jazz but I'm more mellow about it I guess...

Hell, some fans are even proposing Bioware changes the ending for them.
I can't weigh in on that one, I haven't played it - I'm guessing it's despairing and soul crushing, as very well a war should feel like.
But that's an entirely different debate.
I like Bioware, I feel sorry for them being expressed as never caring about the hardcore fans. Mistake's happen but they're working on it...

But that's me..I haven't been scouring every detail about how this went wrong. It has - and it's a damn shame it was overlooked, but there it is. We be patient, we wait, we go on with our lives, our jobs, husbands, wives, children, pets, sex dolls and we wait to finish the fight.
At the end of the day, the game is still the engrossing, heart-in-mouth sci fi story telling, it's just a shame this bug has hindered the enjoyment.

Anyhoo, as you were. I'll no doubt keep checking in to see the 600 page thread tomorrow [/dry sarcasm].

Well, the thread is currently 147 pages long and was started 7 days ago, so I make that an average of 21 pages a day, thus 168 pages by tomorrow, not 600. Of course a sudden influx of staunch Bioware defenders suggesting there's something wrong with reporting a buggy game, or attacking the surprisingly thoughtful and constructive conversation we've been having here while we're waiting for Bioware to sort things out... yeah, that could heat things up.

The 600 pages was a good natured jab at the amount of how quick this topic is building, nothing more and certainly not a cruel jab at the expense of the fans here - hence the [/dry sarcasm] gag.
Hell, I'm feeling just as disappointed, outraged, betrayed - and confused - as to why something this big - such a crucial element to the franchise and one that is so heavily advertised, is messed up and why Bioware isn't communicating moreso.
But I just don't agree with vowing to stay away from Bioware or wishing that they fail with future products.
I guess I'm hanging onto that glimmer of hope that I mentioned a few pages back.

Well, "deathbykebab," since a lot of us here are waiting for the facecode import issue to be fixed, we have a lot of time to read and write on here. Going on over a week, to be exact. Think of this as a support group. Bioware and Chris have kindly left the page up (all -oh my gosh- 150+ pages), so it  must be ok with the bigwigs. Since I put myself in the poor house to pay for the game on release day (midnight brr it was cold waiting in that huge line), I have no money to go and do fun stuff. Might as well "obsessively" check this page out to see if there is a solution. I have already committed five years to a silly game, what's a few more weeks?

I love Bioware, but comeon. It is the longtime fans that are complaining. If we cannot support each other and lament our woes on here, where can we?

Oh, and I left the huge message on in an effort to get to that 600th page you were writing about. Alas, my contribution was not significant.

80% of the people don't like the me3 ending and 20% of the people can't play because their shepards don't have faces... bioware guys where is my money?!

1.- finish the fix and FAST
2.- make MORE THAN ONE ending (WE MADE A LOT OF CHOICES, WE WANT A LOT OF ENDINGS!)
3.- APOLOGIZE WITH YOUR LOYAL FANS

Only one ending no matter what choice one do in the game?

There are 2 endings, one where Bioware fix the face import bug, the other where geekrage gets to sucha  level, the vibrations destroy the earth.

Right now, as much as I hate to admit it, the second one looks like whats going to happen :(

My impression is there won't be any patch or fix for this, i mean never will be.

I find it impossible that they could not identify this problem during development and testing. They probably were well aware of this issue and knew they needed to change software codes. This is a very hard and time-consuming job just because changing even one single line can mean to start everything all over, thus they did not bother, instead they focused on DLC and MP.

They also keep silent just because, well, they have nothing to say other than trying to ease us with generic responses. They just sit and wait for an end of this storm and outrage behind a cover position. This is understandable but unacceptable.

I hope i am wrong and they can fix this soon because this really ruins and lessens substantially the enjoyment to play ME3.

Ultimately, I have to admit, it's not a "glitch" or "bug" per se, this face import business. It *does* import faces (most of them), they're just altered in a way that makes the face you've looked at for the last 5 years (hopefully not 24/7, that would be slightly alarming!) look like a different character. But the fact it isn't exactly a "bug" with the game means there's nothing to be "fixed", only altered.

I personally don't see the point messing with the old options and not just adding new ones for people to choose from (lighter makeup, slightly altered hairstyles to ME1/2 versions, rather than overwriting the old ones).

The problem is, Shepard's face is the sum of it's parts - when every part's undergone a minor change, the entire face changes. I can claw back a reasonable version of most old Shepards using Texmod, and when you can get the face looking very close it *does* look pretty excellent in ME3... but not everyone's willing to waste time sorting out the problem, it's understandable; but managing to fix the problem yourself in a matter of minutes / hours, despite the required effort, is probably going to be better than allowing yourself to be held waiting for updates for days, weeks, months not playing the game.
