Your ability to recreate your Shepard to your satisfaction does not demonstrate that all possible Shepards may be recreated to the satisfaction of their creators.  Several structural options from Mass Effect 1 are not replicated in the character creator of Mass Effect 3; for such Shepards, more comprehensive fixes are required.

Some features present in the ME1 and ME2 character creators were changed or completely removed from the ME3 character creator. If you did not use any of the removed features when you created your character in ME1/ME2, then you're in luck. Unfortunately, that is not the case for many of us, and it is literally impossible for us to recreate our Shepards.

True for one my shepard had purple eyes in the first game, the CC in ME2 did not have purple eyes but it imported over from ME1.

I returned my copy. I'll borrow it from a friend when they're done. Maybe.

My last straw was spoiling myself on the endings (Which I wouldn't have done if I hadn't been waiting so flipping long for a fix on the faces). Knowing what the endings are.... I feel so betrayed. I'm done. This whole ordeal broke my heart.

Yeah considering Dragon Age 2 and the endings to Mass Effect 3, sorry Bioware but you have lost me.  And I have bought every single one of your games all the way from Baldurs Gate.  Honestly, this needs to be fixed.

I'm somewhat concerned about the lack of any sort of news or mention of this since the 9th.

Just confirming things people have been saying here - I tried to recreate my original character, played all the way through ME1 and ME2 2 times each (ie. I'm very attached to this character), using the fan tool and using my own memory etc etc and even when it looks close in the character creator, it looks quite different when actually playing the game. Basically, it just does not feel like the same person. For an FPS nut this would be nothing perhaps but I'm a hardcore RPer and it really does spoil the feel of the story.

I was hoping for a fast fix but it looks like that is not likely. I don't know what I should do, start playing now or wait.

Really is very deflating. And while I do appreciate release is a hideously complex process, I do wonder why they didn't see this bug coming...? I mean, one of the whole attractions of the ME series is playing your character right the way through, right? It being a trilogy and all?

Oh god, that's awful. Sorry to hear it.
Everytime I drop in here to check for an update I'm afraid of accidently reading some huge spoiler. I've bookmarked this page and try not to wander off too much..

May I ask how it happened to you?

Are the endings that bad? I've avoided anything ME related because I don't want an accidental spoiler. But yeah I agree with you. I'm done with BioWare and all this sh*t sucks. For us and for BioWare.

For us it sucks because a developer we used to love is now dead.

For this BioWare that exists now, they have no idea they're doing exactly what EA wants. Making you abuse your fans, your fans say "screw this im done" and then you get tossed aside once you are of no use to them.

I had a face import failure on the Xbox 360, and was able to resolve the issue. It was a lot of back-and-forth between my Xbox and PC but if you ask me, it was worth it.

Here's how:

1. Go here and follow the instructions for importing your Xbox ME2 saved game onto your PC (through step 12): http://www.gamefront...xbox-360-to-pc/

2. By now you should have the .xboxsav file. Now, go here: http://masseffecttoo...rg/v2/index.php

3. Click the "female upload" or "male upload" button, depending on your Shepard's gender. There will be detailed instructions there, but basically you need to go to this website: http://legion.cal24.....php/site/index , sign up, upload your ME2 saved game, click "morph head", and export a YAML file. Now you can upload the YAML file to the site.

4. It will give you a report describing your Shepard's appearance. Now this part is important: next to certain attributes will be four stars (****) which indicate that the attribute was LOST in the transfer. Make a note of which these are. For me, I was pretty luck as they were mostly trivially easy things to reproduce like eye color and hairstyle.

5. At the bottom of the report is a face code; write it down. Remove the USB containing your saved game from the PC and connect it to your Xbox. Move the saved game back to the Xbox HD.

6. Start ME3 and select new game. Import your ME2 saved game to get all of your decisions and stuff. When it tells you the face import has failed, select customize.

7. Carefully (don't make typos!) enter the face code.

8. A fugly version of your Shepard should now be visible. Go back through the list of **** attributes and manually set them. Again, for me this was very easy as it was simple things like eye color, but your results may vary.

9. Once you've got it right, I highly recommend you write down the face code for your "corrected" version, just in case.

10. Voila! Your Shepard is now alive and well on your Xbox 360.

This is seriously getting ridiculous, one of the main draws of this game was the fact you could play through all three games with the same character. Why would they even consider taking facial features out knowing the players with them would not be able to use the character they made? I'm going to buy every bioware game used from gamestop, a place which i hate, from now on just so i know these chumps aren't getting my money.

As has been noted, not all physical characteristics of Mass Effect 1 are available in Mass Effect 3's character creator.

Since when does being a "long time customer" mean you get access to info that BioWare isn't ready to announce just because you demand it?

Maybe I should demand that Nintendo share unnounced Wii U information with me. That'll work, right? Right?

I did it on purpose. I heard so much about how much the endings sucked. My friends all hated them. I heard words like "vague, confusing, stupid" often enough that I finally just said "Frak it, I'm going to spoil myself. Because I don't want to waste 40 hours of my life only to end up in tears. The one thing I'll tell you is that all the complaints about the choices you make in all the games not really effecting your ending choices? Yeah that looks to be true.

Warning: I'm about to rant a bit to get this off my chest. Apologies.

When they announced the multiplayer I was nervous, because as good as it may be (haven't played, don't know) the only reason to add it is for the money. These games have always been marketed as a deeply personal experience driven by moral choices. Multiplayer doesn't add to that at all. Then I heard that multiplayer effect the story in an arbitrary way. That made me angry. Then the face glitch kept me from actually importing my Shepard and I was heartbroken.

I know this makes me sound pretty silly but these games have a huge amount of importance in my life. I have a fantastic job that keeps me working all the time so I honestly can't remember the last game I actually finished. It's been years. I have piles of games I started but couldn't find the time to complete. But I've finished every single bioware game at least twice. Many of them more than that. These characters are my friends. The story means something to me. I took off a week of work to immerse myself in this game for pete's sake!

When I was getting my master's degree I wrote a lot about video games being the next evolution of storytelling. How they were culturally relevant and meaningful. I talked about Bioware games a lot as an example of the highest form of storytelling. Gameplay was meant to enhance the stories because the stories and characters were paramount. Bioware was slowly proving that Video Games could be the next cultural mythology. But slowly I've been starting to feel like they no longer care about the stories. That making money has become their top priority. Looking back I think this first started when they made that awful Facebook Dragon Age game.

This isn't a story spoiler, though I suppose it's technically a spoiler of sorts. Apparently the last thing you see in this game is text encouraging you to buy DLC. It's like they're twisting the knife in my gut.

I'm going to go play some Jade Empire now. Hopefully that will make me feel better.

I thought it got canceled. They really think the Wii U is a good idea.....suprising.

Anyway, today I got new reason to be upset with EA. I contacted Amazon cause I didn't get my $10 promotion credit from pre-ordering ME3. However, their customer serivece rep said it was only for the standard edition and not for the CE and that it was EA who provided that promotion so Amazon had nothing to do with that one. It doesn't make sense that people paying more for the CE don't qualify for the promotion....if the customer service rep told me the truth..it's thanks to EA.

Gamers feel ownership because you PAY for your product. Usually when you pay for something, you own it. (Of course you didn't make it, but you OWN that copy)

Free **** = No entitlement to demands on the product

Paid **** = You bet your bottom dollar you're entitled to demands about that product=]
