Yeah, that was a Report Post for me. Interestingly, I couldn't see an option on the pull-down list for Spoiler or Inappropriate Content which might help explain why spoilers seem to be running rampant & unchecked. I chose Spam.

This is the best I could get. I tried the YAML and Gibbed methods, but this is the best I could come up with. I know they changed the engine, but it even looks like a completely different game when this close to peoples faces.

They still look so different. The hair and beard are ok, but the eyebrows, nose, mouth and eyes are all wrong.



Do I suck at improv code, or is ME3 really that broken??

I agree. It might not be everyone, but there are professional and dedicated craftspeople who're passionate about their medium inside these companies, and they need us to insist on a quality product so they're accorded the respect, time and resources they need to make it for us.

I started a new ME3 game and got this I it only regognized my level 30 Nicole) what i can try is put the new save in that map.



BUT if i go to custom face i get this.. ( with the same code as ME2)


It is confusing me.. But it seems that the facial structure and eyes are simular as Nicole from Me2
Now i will take a very close look at her face and compare it to some screenshots i took before..

It is rather confusing (Lol)
ore is the code i got the code for a standard default Nicole?

In my opinion its not close, they are 2 different person.. I dont know what happens if you start playing with him...I got pretty pleased 3 days ago with the Nicole i recreated.. But in the game i noticed that every time in a cut scene it just was not  the Nicole i am used to.

And  playing the game with always a helmet on is no option also i Think

Yep Clarian But fact is it does not . I am sure that this is a Major problem to the Bioware team also. I cant imagine they dont care.. I am sure they are reading this topic and wished the face-import did run smootly..

I still think after playing ME1 and 2 and partly Da1 they care about the games they are creating and about the fan Community.

I do think they are very unhappy with this and all the rage coming to them ( about the ending also)....

It is impossible to miss the rage about that.. and hey its just a videogame!!!

2 days ago a Bus full of kids had an accident is Switserland. (suisse) . many many many kids died and got severely wounded.. Its on our national news alover.. ( i am from the Netherlands) all the victims are most Dutch and Belgium Kids......

when i see that and the sorrow the tears and the anger on national TV here, makes me only think hey the fact that i cannot import Nicole properly is so minor compared to what is happening IRL!

I do follow the forums and i trie to avoid all spoilers..

I did see the Topic from a kid saying he is Admiral ?? and recruited soldiers to *spam* Bioware today. It disturbs me a lot! it even makes me angry!

Talking about my nick name that comes from an SF name from the Jack Vance novels. His greatest one was Tschai.. Suppoose some of his  fans disagreed on how he wrote that book and the ending  and started spamming, treatening and Harrasting him about that?? Its just so completly stupid...

It's better than mine, but she's stil got a bit of a moon face on the go there, and the difference in the features are not quite subtle enough for me not to think "is that the same person?"

this whole thing reminds me of a friend of mine who was in a really bad accident. The facial part of his skull was smashed and he's had several operations to try and fix things. But now it's all healed, because his bone structure is ever so slightly different he kinda looks like a different person.




I can't see this getting fixed properly. Mainly because it's a different engine thats been used. We'll wait and see, hopefully im wrong.

People don't usually spend $80 on a novel.  If you want to use novels as an analogy, how about this:  A Memory of Light is due out this year.  The conclusion to an epic, iconic series. If you have read it  and are complaining about the people who are complaining about the ME3 ending or even the face, how would you feel if:

A) You open AMOL, and suddenly Mat is the DR, not Rand (Actually that would be interesting, as Mat is by far my favorite character, but the analogy to not being able to import your custom Shepard is the point, here).

Most of AMOL is awesome, but the ending to a series you have invested so much time and money in is a complete let down.

C) This is the most important one - what if the author had made various promises regarding the end throughout the year leading up to the release, and then the end totally reneges on all of those?

I'm willing to wait for more info regarding endings, as has been promised.  With the face problem, patience wears thin....

Yeah there is definitely a massive cloud of #firstworldproblems here, mine included, I think everyone is just severely disappointed to some degree. I (some might say stupidly) trust the mass population to of the forum to realise that their problems are a drop in the ocean to many. Its a bit of a let down for sure though.

But on-topic I don't see a significant patch fixing the problem, they would have to gut the whole character customisation system.

Oh also this happened when Arthur Conan Doyle made a very bold decision with his main character in the Sherlock Holmes stories. I won't spoil what happened but there was a massive "public" outcry! They demanded that he re-write and amend his work as they couldn't bare the thought of what happened!

Incidently he received death threats and decided to write a sucessor novel "amending" the original ending!

History repeating itself...? Please no death threats people, don't be a bunch of 19th Century bookworms

Hold on.. I am not attacking you.. I am not saying that this is not a Major bug in the games.
I am also very very very very disapointed that i cant play Nicole Shepard wich is the lady i had on my screen for more as 400 hours.

I also hope with the majority of you all a fix can be created.
I started playing but i quit in the Citadel. Nicole is just not Nicole anymore and it is realy spoiling the fun.
Of corse i was expecting to import Nicole without problems and could have continued the saga with the same person....

My main point is i cannot understand all the hatred and outraged postings about the game ( not espacially in this topic) but i saw what was gooing on in the spoiler allowed topic... and that is really terrible.

I will not forget that Bioware created Me1 and Me2 which gave me so many hours of intense playing, making it possible to have so much fun and helped me to overcome my problems such as loosing  twin sisters and Father who have died IRL. I do thank a creating team like bioware for that.

I do agree that at least they could have made some apologizies now and say Sorry players we really regret this happens in ME 3.

But i do still stand fermly on the point that so many i saw posted on the forums is completly insane.
( Like the topics calling out to ppl to go their with * Molotov coctails* and more. Thats is Sick!

Ok back on topic...
I sincerely hope Bioware will update us and a Fix will be available soon.

What do you mean this 'is not a major bug in the games'.

This is the selling point for playing continuity from ME 1 to ME3. It is the single biggest bug in gaming history. No game has ever had a feature function completely broken for everyone thats accessable to it before.

I dont like to do a posting i already did again.. But this ->
Well i started playing.... I could not resist not dooing so. I started playing with a reconstructed femshep that is the most likely to be Nicole.

I just had a phonecall with Nicole Shepard and she explained to me why her appearence did change so much. She Told me that with all the cash she got from defeating ME2 she had a new haircut and she said she liked it. She also told she was having a minor problem with 1 leg. She said because she got shot in the leg and was having problems with running fast she decided to have it Fixed. So she went to the private hospital to get her leg fixed but instead of dooing that they gave her a NOSE job!! Man she was mad! But later on she saw some old movies from Michael Jackson and she was thinking.. hey it could have been worse ...

Later on she discovered that the private Clinic was owned by Conrad Verner . Nicole learned that Conrad has accidently got acces to the bank account of the Volar.

Nicole is not pleased at all with her new face.. But she is very happy she still has her (.)(.) not corrected.

Nicole also told me she has a new mission now and she dont goe to often looking in mirrors anymore.
She also promised that if she will meet Conrad again she will shoot him 5 times in his foot.

Nicole just finished the Mars mission and is at the Citadel right now and she thinks her new face is a minor problem compared to Ash. She wants Ash to recover,

Nicole hopes that while beeing on the missions she will find a better Hospital to get her facial structure bones and nose restored to how it was. She also hopes to find a Bioware barber to get her hair back in the old fashioned way she was used to.

The main thing is.. Nicole is upset with her new look and she disagree's a lot.. But she has a mission to forfill and that is what she is gooing for now.

*Edit* i cant go on with this Nicole.. I cant play further it is useless. Everytime i see a cutscene i am irritated to see a different person dooing the fightings, the talking and everything that the ORIGINAL Nicole i have is suppoosed to do.

I am gooing back in playing Star Control 2 ( The Urquan Masters)
I have some friends that will notify me if a fix is available.. if it is ( and i sincerely hope so) i will start playing again.

Beeing further on this forum is no use... Spoilers everywere, attacks everyware.. Renegade actions everywere. I dont think its good for my bloodpressure to stay in the forums and waiting for a fix and reading all the spoilers i dont want to know about.

Ill see you all again if the Fix is there and i can start playing again.

Well, after quite a bit of effort, I finally managed to get my Shep back last night using Janus Prospero's method. So thanks for that, Janus, especially the part about doing the tweaking in ME2 so you can compare them, that really helped.

This in no way excuses BioWare. I still say that since they knew about the issue, and how important it was to their core players, they should have made sure it was corrected for release. Even if that meant delaying the game. Yes, it's not "game-breaking" in the sense that you can still play the game. But I and many others didn't want to.

I just wanted to start ME3 badly enough that I went with the workaround. Manually fiddling with the settings was still a real painus in the anus. Waiting for BioWare to fix it like they promised is a perfectly valid choice as well. One is Paragon, one is Renegade, and I won't attempt to identify which is which.

I tried to recreate my Shepard using a combination of the .yaml thing and looking at screenshots I took, and 1) the face complexion I used does not exist so I had to find the best match, 2) the exact nose is not present, 3) the skin tone is off, 4) the iris color is a little off, 5) my hairstyle is missing (the original bun hairstyle is gone; its replacements are slightly off), and 6) all the makeup is off, although this was the hardest thing to try to emulate, because it's so subtle, you can't really tell what you did in ME1 and ME2 through screenshots.

I saved the face code for this "make-over Shep" anyway, but ultimately decided not to play. It's just a little too different from my original.
