I agree with what you're saying RealStyli. They could have easily handled the issue by communicating to people while the game was still in development that characters created from ME1 would be problematic in transfering over. Instead they do it underhandedly and provide almost no communication. I'm extremely frustrated that it's been a full week now with no update.

Though at the same time, I'm not sure why I'm even waiting at this point. They clearly made changes to the point where it's impossible to recreate the character from 1. The results we get from the workarounds will probably be the same after the supposed fix - just less work

Maybe Andy. I am just debateing if I just want to start playing and say screw it or keep on waiting. I waited almost a week and half now, what's a couple more days? Or will it be weeks? If it was going to be more than another week, I would play, but I feel like it "could" come out any day...it really does suck

Then, the only explanation I have is that the ME3 CC couldn't handle your Code cause the missing features there.

Exactly.  And they haven't acknowledged that problem yet.  They haven't said they're working on it, or looking into it, or anything at all.

Holger1405 wrote...
Btw, I still think that your Shepard is pretty close, just needed a little tweaking.

I don't.  Of course, anyone can look at my pics and judge for themselves.

But if you think it can be made to look like the same person as in ME2 with tweaks, here's the face code if you want to try.  Not that your obligated to, of course.  But it would back up your claim.

Did you tray Face Complexion or Structure?  And a less "negative" mouth?

Yep.  I don't think there are any missing assets with my face (other than the hairstyle) - meaning, those are the ME3 versions of the ME2 assets, but they're different enough to result in a drastically different appearance.  The ME3 versions of totally different face structures aren't any closer.

I should add: I don't think the biggest problem with the mouth is the mouth shape per se, but what the facial structure does to the mouth shape.

Yeah they would have to add in new facial structures, hair, etc.

I just don't see them doing that. I gave in and spent hours re-creating my own Shepard. I actually did a really good job. Only differences I can see are hair color and facial structure. In ME1 and 2, my hair was like a dark brown. Unless it's how my monitor is set, there appears to be no dark brown. Everything just looks black.

I remember someone saying how your Shepard VI is supposed to look like you. LOL. I just got up to the part where I see it, and it looks NOTHING like me. It's sad how BioWare gives me this ugly import when I start the game, and can't even get my Shepard VI right. It looks more like Wilson from the beginning of ME2 than my Shepard.

Another weekend, and again no patch.
And since they probably won't work in the weekend, we won't see a patch this weekend either.

This is getting boring.

OMG this topic is gooing nowere...

Seems to me the angry kids that got banned from another topic now arrived inhere.

Ok Ontopic: ( I Hope)
I imported Nicole from ME1 into ME2 ( again) and suddenly i have a facecode ( See my previous postings)...
I Imported the face code into ME3 and yup it was not Nicole.
So i turned her hair red and Eye pupils green and yep...

I wish to thank Pheonix and many more for dooing so much time in this bug! THANK YOU Guys

Ok i do still have minor things like eye shadow... But Nicole is back! I love to see that she is back! Ok she is a few years older and she had another barber.. but the main thing is its her.

So i restarted . I am on mars Mission now....
I am addicted again.
I do not now the ending and i do not want to know anything about it...

The game i am now playing ME3 is really great!

I still do wish a patch comes... But my Nicole now is OK
I am so much enjoying the game its WONDERFULL!

Reading about the ending.. well its a spoiler.. But maybe i will hold the game until that starts.. I dont know yet.

But Hey ... I Do love this game so much now...The recreated Nicole Shepard is on her way to defeat the reapers!

Still i want an answer and apologize from Bioware... and a Fix!

But i am glad i started playing again.
Its a superbe game ( sofar now )

Take Care

You're better off using the fantools or sitting in character creation for hours like I did.

BioWare doesn't care anymore. They made their money and took out pieces of the game to sell as DLC.

This patch is never coming. Why waste time patching face codes when they can release a 2 hour DLC for $10? Nevermind 2 hours is WAY too long for a BioWare DLC...

Quick question: How do I post pictures here? I've been trying unsucsessfully to paste a couple of JPEG pictures from my imported Femshep,

Either use Photobucket or Imageshack. Once pics are uploaded to there, find the code that begins with copy that, then paste in the reply box :)

Create an account with a photo-sharing site(most ppl use Photobucket), then upload the pics there.

Open a new tab/window and come here, and use the "standard form" reply post window(the one with all the emoticons/text modifiers visible).

On the Photobucket tab, highlight the picture you want to use and click on the "Image code" window. Then switch to this tab and click on the Insert/Edit link icon(7th from the left). Paste the Image Code link into it, and voila.

Again, when we have more news, we will let everyone know. Thanks again for your patience.

So I take it there's no new information after five work days?
You haven't figured anything out, at all? You're still as surprised as you were a week ago?

Okay.
I guess now we know why ME-3 got another six months of extended development time.

Well, since they said they're working on it, I'll wait. I just hope it doesn't take too long.

I've got other games I can play that work correctly.

So many angry and disgruntled people. Seems some who've expressed that they won't play this game until the patch is released are crumbling...

What could you wait for a week ago that you can't wait for now? It's not going to change the game. And you're only going to come back disappointed.

I Think i was only torture myself.. so i did create again ( the 5th time) to recreate Nicole.

I do play now and i love it!

sofar i am now (mars) and again the citadel the game has everything i wanted .
I am leaving the forums... i first will play the game to the ending . On the way to the ending i will LOVE it..at the point i come to the ending i will have a save save game.

If i arrive there will see what i will do.

Even if the DLC was created after the main game, there is no way that they should charge $10 for an extra mission and character. Just plain ridiculous.

No, they don't. As I've said before, they've ignored me anytime I mention this issue but responded to my praise of the soundtrack (which is superb).

We could wait because they gave false hope they were working on the issue. They've said nothing since then.

Actually, Chris made a ridiculous post insulting everyone's intelligence on how patches work. Thanks, because this whole time I thought there was just some big room at the BioWare offices and all they had to do was flick the switch that said "ME1 Face Codes In ME3" <_<

People paid full price for a game they can't play. If these people have to wait a month or longer it would be cool if BioWare could let them know if a patch about this issue is coming. Again, all they've told us is they know it's an issue and then Chris's ridiculous thread made no mention of it. It was just telling us "Hey morons, this is how patching works"

For me, it doesn't take any strength.  Just like it doesn't take any strength to resist eating a bowl of rotten lima beans.  Without my Sheps, I get no enjoyment from the game, so there's no temptation.

But, I don't think there's anything wrong with people deciding to start playing if that's what they want to do.  If that will bring them more enjoyment than not playing, it's the right thing to do.

I sympathize with the fool that can't wait for a patch. :P Only reason I can wait is cause I have other games to play and the eye makeup/eye color isn't in Mass Effect 3 so remaking her doesn't work.

An extremely short mission at that.

It was clearly meant to be part of the game but BioWare just had to milk it's fanbase. I got the CE so I got it for "free" but for anyone with the standard edition, don't even bother. It's extremely short and just pointless.

I beat it in no more than 45 minutes on Insanity and I never even bothered leveling up. Normally difficulty makes things longer so I'm guessing on Normal this is no more than a 20 minute DLC.

Yeah, at my job, if customers were complaining about an issue as upsetting as this, I would be fired for ignoring them. And I don't work in fast food, I work at a desk like everyone at Bioware. There's no excuse for their silence.
