Issue importing faces into Mass Effect 3 Updated March 21

EA and Bioware left a broken version of save import in the final version of the game, made the single-player game outcome rely on multi-player.
Can anyone prove that this isn't a deliberate attempt by EA and Bioware to force the earliest fans of the series to play multi-player, in an effort to boost revenue through DLC and micro-transactions while they wait for a patch and/or play campaign?
Or that EA's marketing department decided that brand awareness and identification would be higher if the user base could more strongly identify with the main character? I.E. by trying to force default Shepard on everybody?
Will EVERY Bioware game be a 3rd person shooter now? A 3rd person shooter full of 14 year old kids using Battlefield crossover nonsense?

they're not going to fix it, no?
i get the feeling they don't even care anymore
Its clear that they don't care. 70k views to a post 1 1/2 weeks old. People are making web sites trying to bring attention to the problem as well as tutorial sites to help you hack your xbox and save files to try and get a slightly better shep. There response, a "community manager" has posted once and updated it once with a generic answer. That's it, nothing else. Its embarrassing and unacceptable. I have been a gamer for over 25 years and I have seen some screw ups, but I have never been so upset about a game in its current state to not want to play it. That's saying a hell of a lot. Yes I know you can play the game. But the ability to create your sheppard is one of the major features and draws to this franchise. To not have the ability to carry over your shep after two games is a fail of monumental proportions. Often times game companies make mistakes they come out with a press statement. Bioware has decided to make a couple sentence response on a thread in a forum, about them looking into it, that's it. Unbelievable.

Fortunately, all my messing around recreating my Shep in the demo has paid off and he's pretty much identical, like, indistinguishable really. I guess I've been lucky. Gave me the opportunity to give him slightly different facial hair and a marine-style short back and sides.
So I guess not every import story ends badly.

whens this issue gonna be resolved because this is definetly taking the steam out of my joy of having this trilogy ...
No kidding eh? I never thought I'd be one of "those" people, but I just can't bring myself to play through without my Shepard.
My Shepard survived a fall from orbit to a planet's surface, came back from the dead, was reconstructed, and still managed to keep the same face. Now she spends some time lounging around on Earth and her face just suddennly turns to putty? It's just not right!

At this rate, by the time a fix comes out, I would've played enough playthroughs (albeit with a Shepard that looks like a cross between my old Shepard and a hippopotamus) on my friend's laptop, and I just won't have a reason to buy my own copy of it. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Glad to hear your Shepard was able to be recreated. Unfortunately for many of us, we chose features from the face creation utility that have now been abandoned, it seems. You can check out this page for examples of what our poor Shepards would now have to look like: http://www.fixmasseffect3.com

I say if we are dissatisfied with the lack of updates we bring it up with EA. Let's tell them how poorly a job the current community updater is doing. I will look for a good email address we can all send messages to.
Sounds good to me. Please let us know and I will do my part by sending an email about this broken game i bought.
