People are wondering why they aren't communicating and I'd propose it's because of a guilty conscience. The people who invested their talent, vision, and passion into the project were railroaded into shoving it out the door prematurely by corporate. Then they were forbidden to communicate to the public in any way that would negatively impact the sales figures. This effectively forced them to go along with the big whopper fraud regarding the import defect.

To be a leader in Mass Effect 3's development is to be in this position:

"I spent the last 2 and a half years working on a project that opens with an error message. Then I had to engage the project's most longstanding admirers and lie to their faces in order to keep my job."

Isn't capitalism wonderful? Humanity will never be free as long as money exists.

Actually, I managed to get in contact with one of the Staff at the OXM (the UK Official Xbox360 Magazine) and he said they've covered this issue in one of there online blogs.

I believe this link has a spoiler in it which I just ruined for myself.  **** this is irritating. Gonna have to not read anything else ME3 related except this trhead.

We should be proud and Bioware should be ashamed

Agreed - There was another forum thread that was started prior to this one, it reached 140 pages before Chris locked it down and started the one we're on now; it was started 7 days prior to this one (meaning it starting before Mass 3 launched in the US)

My stance hasn't changed; I'm not playing Mass 3 till there is a fix issued; no fix no play

Hey, can someone post the steps to get a refund from Amazon?

I’m also in the camp of people that can't play the game like this. I love ME first and foremost for the realism role playing and now I have to swallow playing with a diffenrent character?? If it was that sheppard got hurt or something I consider the obvious difference but my character will not have the same face and that it’s unacceptable.

I really dont mind playing the game a this point after hearing from people about the ending (without spoilers) you can tell the amount of effort Bioware its putting into things. If this was to be there’re master piece it turning out to be a failure, which after a really good first game and better sequel to fall short on the conclusion instead of doubling down. :o. I guess with need Blizzard like developer to go into emotionally story telling games because we know they won’t rush out a bad product.

Couldn't import my Shep, so I started "reconstructing". Eye shape & colour, mouth shape, complexion and facial structure are unavailable in ME3's CC.. the skin tone isn't exactly there either.. after 90 minutes of trudging through the opening sequences with some other guy as main character I put the game down, very disgruntled and disappointed. That's been over a week ago.. It felt like Indiana Jones 3, but with Hayden Christensen as Indy :P

I did the best I could reconfiguring. Nowhere near as close as my other friends' Shepards with the same issue.

I still feel this is a much bigger issue than the brouhaha over the ending. Glad to see there's a note about it being worked on, I hope it's in the near future.

Any update?? It's really getting ridiculous. An essential feature of the game is glitchy, and no word said for 10 days... Is this really the future? Shame

Like I said, I had no problems at all with the import function.....

Then please, do share with us specifics on where you got your game, what region you live in, and what system you got it on. If you say 360 on release night in N. America I'm going to call you a liar or your using default Shepard

Just adding my name to the list of affected (disgruntled) customers. Yes Bioware, there are people just now trying to start the game and unable to continue past the first mission because their Shep looks wrong (even after applying the face code work-around and tweaking for >2 hrs).

Does anyone know if the eventual patch will modify existing saves (i.e., be retroactive)? I don't see why it couldn't, at least in principle.

Lets just hope for the face import to be fixed without adding on to that since if they try to add retro activeness to it , it will take even longer for them to release the patch.

I'm almost certain they are working on DLC packs before they work on the fix.

I tried the fan tool again and spent some more time tweaking as close as i could, still nowhere near my Shepard from ME1 and ME2. The whole opening sequence I can hear myself saying "That's not me, that's not me, that's not me, that's not me..." I quit as soon as they gave me control of Shepard. I'm not playing the single player portion again until this is fixed.

So, I was curious. If you restarted all the way to ME1 (started fresh), imported into ME2 (making a tweak to your Shep), played through ME2, and then imported into ME3 (or entered your ME2 identity code). Would that work?

I'm writing again not because of specific reason. I just agree all opinion about BioWare being shameful and must create a fix. As all of you I can't play without the proper face and I feel ashemed I pre-ordered the game and have given my money to them already (not to say it's CE) in advance not knowing about this bug. I've already supported them and for what? For THIS? Damn I whish to turn the wheel of time back and keep my money until there is a fix IF ther is a fix...

Another day, and again nothing.

A patch should be close to finished by now if they started since release, right?

Until they fix up their slimy business practices, and make games that work rather than focusing more on DLC and monetization than the actual game, then I can no longer justify giving EA and BioWare my money.

Maybe, If they started since release. However this problem was posted on the forums the friday or saturday before release (if not sooner I didn't notice). So in reality this should have been fixed already. I doubt the dev team is making this a priority which is shown by the lack of attention to the thread by the staff or mods or whatever. There hasn't been any news in over a week. I highly doubt we're close to getting a patch and I highly doubt we're going to hear any news of progress untill the patch is done.

Lol. Two weeks now. Absurdity upon absurdity. First, that it was pushed out with a known defect like this, and second, that they've actually let it rot this long without doing anything, or even trying to placate the community.

Funny thing is, when the sales tank, and the DLC sales tank, EA will just claim it's "Due to piracy", and put even more restrictive DRM than Origin on the next release.

Expect DA3 to require always-on internet DRM like Diablo 3 will.

When that sells badly because of the ill-will from this? EA will blame piracy again, and the cycle will repeat until we get the news that Bioware has gone the way of Sierra.

Plain and simple, if they had cared they would have communicated with us by now. It is just a massive insult to only give the longtime fans of the series a single update and be done with us.

Now I'm gonna go play ME 1 again to pass the time. It will help me remember that bioware once had a soul.

Just checking to see if my broken game is playable. Nope. Thanks again bioware for the wonderful updates and keeping your loyal gamers informed. What a swell company.
