Adding my voice to this.

Intentional or not intentional, the situation is preposterous. I'm proceeding with a frankenshep that is both distracting and disappointing.

MP requirements for galactic readiness is also a baffling tonal shift for Bioware, which leaves EA's dirty fingerprints all the more prominent.

Not happy.

Lol, I put  exactly the same facecode as I had in ME2 and all I got is this ugly witch. It's not even about being unable to import faces, it's about face editor in ME3 being useless nonsense no capable of creating proper faces, especially for women. Check this out. Same code, same positions of all sliders in the editor. Compeltely different and ugly face.
They have to change the editor itself, not import. It's easy to recreate the face once it's possible.
Thank you Bioware.

I thought they stated that MP wasn't required to get the best ending?  Was that a load of BS too?

Was hoping we might get thrown a bone after 10 days of no posts here. I suppose I should keep my expectations in check, their silence on this issue (while issuing numerous statements about others) speaks volumes.

All it would take is a simple "theres a patch on the way and I would totally be happy.  A time frame, even happier. :D

Might have to just say screw it and play single player soon enough. Maybe find a work around or do a from scratch. This is getting silly.

Unfortunately, us face import supporters are in the lose/lose battle. We don't get an update on how the face imports is coming along if at all. Then the rest of the community is hung up on the ending so we get drowned out. Maybe the ending is bad, but I wish my Shepards can see it.

Not getting patch reports or community support because they need to post "hey the ending is bad!" threads 1k times a day is just all around heartbreaking.

Tell me about it, it's become something of a scandal and those of us who can't stand the horrific frankenstein versions of our Sheps have been forced to watch from the sidelines with our games slowly gaining a layer of dust (metaphorically speaking... I hope).

There is even talk of changing this mystical ending, frankly I’d be freaking happy with any ending, even if that ending involves Shepard splitting into two, only one side is a beaver then Chipper Shepard goes on to save the galaxy by building giant intergalactic dams to prevent the reapers reaching civilisation, whereas manshep/femshep just spends the rest of their lives trying to find female turians and salarians.
The only thing i want is my beaver/fem/manshep have my shepards face.

Here is another issue: NONE of the game reviewers even mentioned this problem. NOT ONE.

This is beyond suspicious... as I thought reviewers were supposed to be the public's "heads up before purchase" guides. From now on, I won't believe another damn review from IGN, gametrailers, gamespot or whatever as long as I am on the internet.

These sites won't give the consumer a heads up on game issues beforehand they are useless to me and everyone else out there on the gaming market.

In all fairness, good chance they just use the default male version.  It looks that way.  If you do that, you wont even notice this.

Didn't mean to mislead re: the "best" ending.  I'll take Jarrett Lee at his word that MP is not strictly required:

http://social.biowar...-9665384-1.html

My general complaint was from a completionist perspective (both in terms in terms of in-game indicators and achievements).  Maybe I'm just quibbling, but there are a number of trends in ME3 that I find both un-BioWare-like and slightly distressing.  EA + BioWare has not been in our best interest to date.

I think the worst part of this for me is that I could play a good handful of games right now. I could play Skyrim, SWTOR, ME1 or ME2 (again). But my head is telling me Mass Effect 3 or bust, so i'm forced to sit here and vent on BSN.

Apparently MP is required or something horrible happens (people spoiled it for me but i wont do it here). Also the ONLY way to avoid this bad thing is MP. I've heard this from a few sources so it has some reliability to it. I myself am not playing MP or SP til thy fix it

I don't mean to flare up the conspiracy theorists but apparently* the review code didn't allow import of save files at all.

A few of you have pointed out my biggest fears
Bioware is dealing with idiots complaining about the games ending... (which im sure the majority of this board including myself has not been able to even see) and it looks like they are more focused on that than actually fixing this problem

Bad Endings = Bad, but thats the developpers choice and every one of my RL friends seem to thing the ending was great..
Bad Importer = The worst possible thing that could happen in a trilogy that is supposed to allow you to play through them as if they were one. (in a sense)

When I first heard about mass effect and how every little thing transfers from 1 - 2, and than to the sequel after that I knew it was too good to be true.

It's a certain downgrade even comparing to ME, not only ME2.
Here's last version of comparing picture, the best thing I could pop out of ME3 face editor. Face code in ME2 and ME3 is exactly the same on this picture. Won't post it anymore.

Damn that sucks. Your femshep totally looks like two different people in ME3.

after (if) they fix the face import, everyone here will probably be posting in Fix the Endings posts after a few days. It's a shame that the first 10min, (broken character creator) and last 10min (endings snafu) are so f'd. Everything in between that is pure joy.

I doubt they do. The only thing they're gonna fix is code importing problem, but that won't change anything about totally different and ugly face meshes. Shepards and especially females will look totally different from what they were in ME and ME2. Fixing it would mean remodelling faces and fixing textures, but Bioware won't do this as it seems. Forget about your ME character, enjoy new monstrous freaks.

I can't import any of my faces at all, since they are all ME1 imports to ME2, I just get a message "ME3 can't recognize my custom face code, please update your character's appearance" and I am presented with DefaultShep. So no one at QA bothered to test importing a character through the series from ME1 to ME2 to ME3? Amazing. Or if they did and saw this problem and didn't think it was important enough to fix before release, is even more amazing.

Without spoiling, what is this multiplayer speak about it adjusting the ME3 ending? What does this mean? Do you have to get to a certain rank in multiplayer or something to get a positive ending or something?

The multiplayer doesn't affect the outcome of the endings, however it does effect how high your EMS which makes certain actions and the chance to get the 'secret ending' more possible compared to just the single player. It is theoretically possible (possibly though new game+) to still achieve it, but I have seen very very few that even claim to have done so without MP.
