Here is another issue: NONE of the game reviewers even mentioned this problem. NOT ONE.
This is beyond suspicious... as I thought reviewers were supposed to be the public's "heads up before purchase" guides. From now on, I won't believe another damn review from IGN, gametrailers, gamespot or whatever as long as I am on the internet.
These sites won't give the consumer a heads up on game issues beforehand they are useless to me and everyone else out there on the gaming market.
I don't mean to flare up the conspiracy theorists but apparently* the review code didn't allow import of save files at all.
(* again, my source is the Xbox World UK podcast)
Please tell me you are joking? That means they knew there was a problem with the importer and said nothing to anyone about it until the consumer forked over the $80 for the game only to realize this feature was defunct or missing...
I'm done with these guys.
Day 1 DLC CRITICAL to the story that we had to pay for = strike one.
Autodialog for 70% of the game which was supposedly all about CHOICE = strike two
Not informing reviewers or the consumer market there was a problem with the games importer before launch = strike 3.
As far as I am concerned, ME died when ME2 was released.
People need to stand up to these monopolistic, greedy corps. that suck consumers dry with incomplete and falsely advertised products. Liars shouldn't prosper.

The multiplayer doesn't affect the outcome of the endings, however it does effect how high your EMS which makes certain actions and the chance to get the 'secret ending' more possible compared to just the single player. It is theoretically possible (possibly though new game+) to still achieve it, but I have seen very very few that even claim to have done so without MP.JBauer24Tactics wrote...
Without spoiling, what is this multiplayer speak about it adjusting the ME3 ending? What does this mean? Do you have to get to a certain rank in multiplayer or something to get a positive ending or something?
Examination of the game asset file reveals that attaining sufficient Effective Military Score for one ending is not possible.

I don’t want to wait based on just false hope, though. Are there assurances that a patch will fix this? I can’t seem to find anything on the net assuring us other than the team is investigating fixes. That doesn’t sound very definitive.

Of course issues like this can be fixed, but like I have said before. They will most likely have to rewrite the whole import feature and add the old features into the system. Overhauls take awhile.

Is this issue correctable? I got the game the day it came out and just opened it tonight to discover that I have this bug. I have waited two weeks to play the game and I’m patient enough to continue waiting.

Honestly we have no idea porky88. Bioware has said littel beyond 1) that they are aware of the issue and 2) they might've confirmed why they think it's broken. Nothing else has been said on whether a patch is coming, when it's coming or if they even plan to fix the missing assets and look of the assets in the character creator.

Do you think we're talking days, weeks, months? Frankly, I can wait weeks, but months is pushing it.

noone knows and therein lies the problem we want to know NOW what sort of time frame we're looking at so that depending on how we feel we can
a) just get on with it if its too long as a default or poor replica creation (and grimace and have the story ruined by lack of engagement etc with the fake Shep)
c) if it's x amount decide to wait it out and do something else (Skyrim/SWTOR etc) in meantime

What a minute... you're telling me all these review sites reviewed the game WITHOUT IMPORTING AN OLD FILE? You know... doing what is basically the main draw of your game: seeing the consequences of your actions?
....wow. I don't even know what I can say about that.

How come no one noticed this BEFORE the game's got shipped out? That's a big oversight that even Bethesda softworks couldn't do. (no offence to Bethesda)
They noticed it. It's plain as day. Check back in the thread. The issue now is that they defrauded buyers and have offered no form of redress. They haven't even commited to fixing the problem. I don't think they will as the issues require a serious overhaul.

It didn't go unnoticed. I think I already seen a quote that it was known before shipping. It was deemed acceptable.

has anyone noticed that in multiplayer you sometimes lose all credits/progress/xp/n7 score after a few matches?

I've seen this in the MP, I turned off my 360 last night because it didn't wanna deal with it. I played some more today and its fine. so its probably just a minor bug (something that can be overlooked at the start). However just like you Joermungar i'm stuck bewtween a rock and a hard place when it comes to this face import issue and the amount of motavation I have to to do other things.

I ball park beginning to mid April Remember, this is a code base across 3 diverse platforms. Its going to take time.

If that estimate is true I'd be content with that, one month in comparason to months is far better.

Honestly I'm completely fed up here. Two weeks since the game's been released and I haven't been able to play it yet because my Shepard (even using the YAML method with some tweaking) looks like a freak. I can't believe there hasn't been an update on this situation yet aside from a "Yeah we know there's a problem.". I'm gonna see if I can return my copy to Amazon tomorrow and buy something I can actually play and enjoy, I'll rent it from Gamefly if/when this horrible "oversight" is fixed. I'm sad to say that Bioware has lost a very loyal customer after all of their ****ups.
Oh boy. Someone isn't patient enough. You know, looking for and fixing a bug takes more time then you think it does. Sure it was an oversight, but not a reason not to enjoy the game. Be patient, they'll fi it....someday.
The workaraund is pretty much the best way of importing our Shepard atm, which works rather good.

guarantee that a fix is coming and what type of timeframe we're looking
at. It's not as if they never give us estimated dates. For example, ME3
was originally a holiday 2011 launch. Nobody cares now because the game
is out. Telling us mid April and giving us the patch in early May isn't
going to upset more fans. I guess what I’m saying is that some of this looks
as if it’s PR control, which is understandable from their perspective.
As a fan, though, I imagine this could get old very quick. Some of you
must feel as if you‘re stuck in limbo. It‘s only been hours since I
found out and I‘m pretty disappointed. I’d just like to know that a fix
is coming, so I can look forward to playing with my Shep.

So I've given up waiting for a patch and tried the YAML fix, got close enough on one of my builds to progress. Since I don't have Gold, I'll need another way to get sufficient EMS. My question is this, I know Gibbed has a ME3 editor, but I've heard that relates mostly to head morph utilities, is there a way to use it to raise your war assets? and if so will it kark up your saves for some ridiculous EULA violation?
