Unfortunately, it looks quite bad. Thank you for stripped down console-optimized ME3-Engine, Bioware! And thank you for dull loading-screens, missing elevators, missing film grain, missing graphics-tweaks for PC, missing screenshot-key and all the other things you already had in ME2!
And why is it that the player looks quite ok in ingame-sequences and terrible while playing myself? Cant we turn this 'optimization' off?
I'm starting to wonder if they're postponing saying anything to push the news past a 30 day return policy or something so they don't get thousands of returns after they say "We're not fixing it."
Except by the time you find out about this you can't actually return it anywhere in the US.
I wonder how much longer it's going to be until there's a fix for this...
I think that Bioware is working on a solution and my rough estimate is that we should see it within the next few weeks, hopefully. If we dont then I really don't know if I can support the company anymore, which is a shame becuase I've been a fan since Baldur's Gate II, havent finished it but i still love the game lol.
Viewed through an economist's eyes, all disappointed ME3 buyers are simply dead weight. The very moment you forked over the (pre-order) money, you gave up your vote.
Short term yes. Long term, making a game costs a humongous quantity of money and when the game release you'd better have collected enough "war assets" to enjoy the best ending.
We're not dead weights, we're wallets, we're word of mouth, we're "possible" future sales.
Really nice video to show, what is really wrong with the faces. Nice that you included, that it is much worse for FemSheps than for male ones. Because almost all of the people here in the thread that say, that they could recreate their Sheps quite close, have a male Shep (there are still ones that are screwed with the removal of facial features of their previous male faces, though).
The sad thing is, we don't really want an ETA anymore. The only thing we expect is the info, if and how the problem will be fixed. If you say, that it can not be fixed or not the way that they look similar, we will be disappointed, but we can go on and either sell our copy or swallow the pill and start the game with FuglyShep. If you say, you will reintroduce the old way, faces were imported, I think most of us will gladly wait for the patch, even if there is no ETA.
What I still think is disturbing, is that the standard FemShep has features (especially eye make-up) that are not available in the normal creator. I think, that with the eye shadow the default FemShep has, our recreations could get at least a bit closer to their former selfs, as in ME1 and 2, the eye make-up was quite heavily applied and this makes a bit difference on a womans face.
Ive been reading the topics now a long time.. I have to tell you that the postings you did are stunning to me.
I ask permission to post them into the hold the line topic. ppl there need ppl like you with postings like this!
Take Care
I posted them in public - fairly use away! I don't think I can post in there because I haven't registered my copy of 3 due to the bug though
Thus my experience is going to be ruined one way or another as I've already had more than a few unavoidable spoilers at this point - thus the bitterness. Being given a choice between having the story spoiled by 'news' or comments or by having to experience the story through a protagonist that's changed for no reason is no real choice that anyone should find conscionable for those that bought it on release day
My game is still broken. Its funny, been waiting to play since ME2 and when I picked up and found out bioware sold me a turd, I am slowly loosing intrest in even playing at all. Thanks again bioware, and I love all the communication too, your're the best!

Yeah, I was one of the people who defended Bioware over DA2 - now I'm questioning the wisdom of doing that after they've cocked up two of their best games in a row, in different ways maybe, but still. One **** up might be a fluke, but two in a row is the start of a pattern.
I'm having a blast with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion now. But BioWare/EA better have fixed this bullcrap by the time I'm done with that game!
EDIT: Worst thing about all this gamestopper, is that the momentum of ME3 has come to scheeching halt! I really wanted to play the game for a long time, but this **** spoils the fun! It really does!

I also find it very absurd that somehow, people have time to come on here, lock threads, lock more threads, and wander about, but just can't be bothered to update us on the face issue.
